  • Of course, after the fall of Saigon, most of those gooks DID try to get out. Those poor oppressed communists murdered a huge number of those that didn't.

  • What is this? A history lesson? The part where he says hes going to take a giant shit on him is the funniest thing Ive heard in a week!

  • 3 - "International relief agencies were pressured by the U.S. to provide humanitarian assistance to the Khmer Rouge guerrillas who fled into Thailand." (Jack Colhoun)

  • @Dualismoassoluto Actually the aid was to Cambodian refugees in Thailand, but I suspect to the Vietnamese it amounted to the same thing. I had a friend from Cambodia I went to school with - he told me how the Vietnamese would regularly lob mortar rounds into teh refugee camps in Thai territory - they really wanted those people to be killed.

Of course it's academic since 1998, when the Khmer Rouge formally joined the Vietnamese communist party as junior partners ...

  • 2 - "For the U.S., playing the "China card" has meant sustaining the Khmer Rouge as a geopolitical counterweight capable of destabilizing the Hun Sen government in Cambodia and its Vietnamese allies." (Jack Colhoun))

  • 1 - "After the fall of Saigon in 1975, the U.S.-worried by the shift in the Southeast Asian balance of power-turned once again to geopolitical confrontation. It quickly formalized an anti-Vietnamese, anti-Soviet strategic alliance with China-an alliance whose disastrous effects have been most evident in Cambodia." (Jack Colhoun, Covert Action Quarterly magazine, Summer 1990)

  • This is my rifle, this is my gun

This is for fight, and this is for fun...

  • lol wen he sez "take a giant shit on u" has got to b one of the funniest parts of the movie

  • Why the hell did the Col. salute Joker first?

No longer do Marines salute in theatre or the field, period.

    --Rob USMC

  • I always knew the Marines were racist. FUCK 'EM!!!

  • we've gotta try to keep our heads until this peace craze blows over

  • When the rich wage war it's the poor who die.

  • The general had some good points.

  • A rich man's war fought by poor men.

  • World: Isn't the democracy of youtube comments great? Freedom at last! lol

  • your face sucks corprate dick

  • America: "Born to Meddle"

  • "Inside every gook there's an American, trying to get out."

Replace gook with whatever suitable ethnicity and you have the basis for the entire American foreign policy.

  • @thestranger4812 Which is not such a bad thing considering that other cultures stone 13 year rape victims to death...under court order.

  • @Soothfish

Yeah, because Saudi Arabia is the rest of the world. A country that is a friend and ally of the US, mind you.

  • @thestranger4812 Not just Saudi Arabia and there are even worse things happening in Afghanistan and Iraq. FAR worse. The fact that a horrible society like Saudi Arabia is an ally of the US is a problem in and of itself.

We live in an exceptionally pleasant country. Same with Canada and Europe. It's only the spoiled snot nosed liberals who think the west is "evil" for "interfering in those precious cultures". I can find you a million African rape victims who will beg to differ.

  • Joe - Great Idea. I'm 'sharing" clips on my FaceBook page as a means of protesting. This one is going to be posted for sure!

  • God Bless America

  • I know it has been a while since I've been in the Marine Corps, yet one thing that I do remember is that one should never ever salute an officer in a combat environment because it makes them juicy targets for snipers.

  • @amolapaz1 Yep warfare have drastically changed. Uniforms have become useless today when fighting enemies who use terrorist and geurilla tactics

  • @GSPatton89 You're absolutey correct, guerrilla warfare is difficult to combat, especially when one is fighting an enemy who sees death as something to be desired. Even if their supply line is cut off, that kind of enemy would fight butt naked with butter knives. This is definitely a new day for warfare. I guess peace is really starting to look good right about now. LOL.

  • @amolapaz1 Hehe well peace is difficult to achieve when you have sadistic middle eastern leaders funding terrorist cells. Especially when the U.N. looks a blind eye and gives them credability is beyond rediculous hahaha.

  • @GSPatton89 Amen!

  • @GSPatton89 IRAN is the UN commission for the rights of women. Fucking crazy shit!

  • @amolapaz1 In the deleted narration joker say he saluted because he wanted to expose the colonel for enemy snipers that may have been near by.

  • this movie was a major fuck up.

  • i will take a giant shit on you.

  • Try latin women **busizz4me.info**

  • du...what ? LOL

  • du...what ?

  • lol thts a fail

  • The U.S. Military has won every conflict it has ever fought in. The U.S. Military won the Vietnam War. The U.S. Government lost the Vietnam War. The liberal hippy population lost the Vietnam War for us.

  • "its a hardball world son, we gotta try to keep our heads until this peace craze blows over"

  • is it Ungian? or Jungian? is it religious dualism or psychological?

  • Bruce Boa was great in this scene!

  • who's side are you on son?

  • fuck these genrals, they don't know shit all they know what to do is suck corprate dick.

  • @62rome lol all that 'corprate' money is educating you very well !

  • @62rome corporate ? lol, man if you are gonna try to argue politics, learn to spell.

  • @62rome And just what the fuck are you trying to say? If it werent for the armed forces, we would all be sucking bin laden dick right now. A little respect, please.

  • @TheSTDStudios

Not quite. If it werent for the armed forces hanging out in the muslim holy land, Bin Laden wouldn't have given a shit about the US in the first place. For them it's kinda like the Iran stationing troops in the Vatican would be for most devoted christians: intolerable.

  • @zerg0s You do have a point.

  • @62rome :rolls eye: grow up

    Blame the politicians.

  • @62rome What's that suppose to be some kind of sick joke? You better get your head and your ass wired tight or I will take a giant shit on you and another thing whose side are you on son?

  • "or i will take a giant shit on you" loooool only americans can threaten you with things like that:D

  • @PaulRietvoorn our shits are very stanky

  • We gotta keep our heads together until this whole peace craze blows over...

  • Peace is just R&R for the military. Hoorah!

  • @br0nzepen haha alright you moto motherfucker...

  • @cdesade You are wrong. The college protests led to the climate that eventually sent the troops home. The reason America lost the Vietnam war was because the American troops had no moral reason to be there. Please lookup the My Lai Massacre and tell me why America has the right to commit genocide against any people, Native Americian or otherwise.

  • salut sint Sergiu Castellon skrie...apelsincr@mail.ru....

  • now answer my question or you'll be standing tall before the man...

  • Matthew Modine really nailed this role

  • wuz da music in dis scene let me kno asap

  • i want a warldolf salad !!

10 points if you know why i said that and no i'm not mental

    :D

  • @sweetypie000 Isn't it watergate salad?

  • as lost as theres men there is war! ... got that from somewhere

  • The war was lost because the Vietnamese will not tolerate any foreign occupying force. The Japanese figured it out. The Chinese figured it out. The French figured it out. The Americans were the last to find out.

  • @loonmaniac No people with any pride and balls will tolerate an occupying force. That's why American soldiers get killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. Stay the FUCK out of other people's countries or get your ass kicked. Sometimes it takes time, sure, but it'll happen.

  • @jjdecani: We WON in Iraq, Saddam is dead, the Bat'thist Party is no longer in power, free and fair elections have been held and more Americans were killed in Chicago last year than in Bagdad.

Should we "stay the fuck out of other peoples business" when there is an earthquake, flood, famine, civil war, tsunami, etc???????

  • @loonmaniac That is a very narrow and simplistic view of why america lost the war. While not totally false there were many other reasons. The japanese in WWII fought with same fanatical zeal the vietnamese did in the vietnam war. Yet they were brought their knees in the course of about 4 years. Americans forgot that to deal with fanatics you must be a fanatic yourself. If america was willing to get down and dirty with their enemies things would change very quickly.

  • it's not just the woman's comment ... even North Vietnamese military leaders are on record as saying that the anti-war protests in America was GREAT for the North Vietnamese morale and war effort. Go Google it if you don't believe me.

  • "Son, all i've ever asked of my marines is thet they obey my order like the word of God... We are here to help the vietnamese because inside every gook, there is an american trying to get out"

  • The whole world knows that the USA lost in Vietnam because they understimated the Vietnamese. And still today some ignorant fucks believe that bombing more of the Vietnamese would have got their leaders. The USA threw every single weapon they had against the NVA and the VietCong short of a NUCLEAR BOMB and lost. Just because the enemy wears sandals and are short with monkey faces doesn't mean they are inferior that you. Never learn,Dumb fucks.

  • @chessse If you look at any battle that the United States was involved in they won tactically. This show that we 'defeated' them in battle. However we 'lost the war because bad political decisions. After we did what the Tet offensive set out to do it was still a strategic loss for the Southern Vietnamese. This proves that it wasn't us underestimating them, which we did do, that lost us the war. Also we did defeat the VietCong after the Tet offensive it was just the NVA.

  • you Americans will never win a war never done never will 'cos your mouth is too wide opend with shit comes out and you trying to be the best in the world your not you just a mix of race of coulture you not Americans just bunch off dicks with not fucking brain you win a war lol let the world see that first before you taking action to go to war!

  • I'll take a giant shit on you? Geeeeeze Colonel, lay offfff a bit. lol.

  • We kill for peace

  • this is called roadside assistance

  • I will take a giant shit on you

    lol

  • Does this mean Ann-Margret isn't coming?

  • LOL 0:34 You better get you're ...HEAD and you're ASS wired together or ....I ....WILL.... take a GIANT shit on you!. Answer my question or you'll be ..STANDING TALL BEFORE THE MAN.

LMFAO "Standing tall before the man ..." The Judge.

  • This is pure genius and yet not too many understand the scene.

  • inside every gook is an american LMAO

  • is that you john wayne, is this me?

  • The actor who played the colonel is named Bruce Boa. Such a great actor, he was amazing in this role.

  • YAH HE KILLED THIS PART.

  • @amxrtdket Ironically, he was Canadian playing a United States Marine.

  • MY FAVORITE PART OF ALL TIME.

  • this colonel is great even though he was in the film for nearly over a minute

  • This is my favorite scene in one of my favorite Kubrick movies ever...

  • Man, what a scene!! Only Kubrick can come up with such a completely contained one minute such as this...pure genius. Bruce Boa's short performance here eclipses most actors' entire careers...and that ain't no shit neither!!

  • "In every gook there is an American trying to get out!"

Is that suppose to be some kind of sick joke?

  • Yes, it expresses the insanity of the times. Yes, we were trying save them, the south Viets and yet we labeled our enemy gooks and before you knew it you were so bitter everyone was a gook. Not nice but not nice when a kid throws a grenade at you. Not nice when your buddy is bleeding out and screaming in pain and your holding his guts in your hands..helpless. now I have my nails done by Viet girls and worked with ex-viet soldiers in gov service. A strange world!

  • LOL THAT WAS MAD FUNNY

  • 'We've got to keep our heads until this "peace" craze blows over.'

  • who side are you on son?

  • Hey... I have a great idea... Let's all argue and bitch and get in a giant pissing contest over the politics of the wars in the middle east!!! These youtube comments are gonna change EVERYTHING!!!! Who needs a congress or a U.N. when we have youtube comments? It's so genious, why havent the world leaders figured out that everything can be solved by who gets the last word in a youtube comment argument!!!

  • @joethecrow23 it is pretty rediculous, and how many of us have gotten sucked in to the silly youtube comment box pissing contest... theres probaby some psycho-religious reasoning behind it as well.

  • @joethecrow23 I think you lost the argument lol

  • @joethecrow23 ha ha good idea but i dont think they have you tube in the middle east

  • @joethecrow23 Youtube has the world's largest assortment of idiots. It's like a fucking zoo.

  • @joethecrow23 Instead why don't we be sarcastic jackasses who imply that sitting back like a slack jawed moron is preferable to engaging in meaningful debate that mgiht actually change someone's mind for the better!

  • @Hashishin13 Doubtful. At best Youtube is populated by armchair warriors, internet heroes and wikipedia scholars. You would be better off using Youtube to watch debates by people who actually know wtf their talking about.

  • "i will take a giant shit on you" classic

  • 'some kind of sick joke?'

  • hahaa i love that line

  • lol me 2

    this is my fav. part

  • "THE WHAT ?!"

    LOL

  • Stand Tall as a Marine before God

  • What does he mean by ''standing tall before the man''?

  • Vietnam movie retards. Movie.

  • jokers the one who got schooled...

  • The Marine Corps is still the same. Too many Colonels, not enough Jokers. FML.

  • I don't support the iraq war, we need our men in Afghanistan.

  • fenderkid6. Please, don't speak on a subject of which you are ill-informed. It's been 8 years and still no Bin Laden. Ask yourself, WHO are we killing NOW and WHY?

I'm happy to be American but there is absolutely no logical discourse involving facts which would conclude our current involvement in the Middle-East as anything less than neo-fascistic. Don't drink the Kool-Aid man.

PLEASE. Inform yourself on the situation, or at least lay the illegitimate rhetoric to rest. It poisons the Well.

  • Neo-Fascism huh? Im against the war as much as the next guy but lets not pretend america wasnt provoked in anyway. The people who are being killed are usually taking the first shots. You can pretend all you want that Iraq/Afghanistan are these litte innocent countries and are being invaded by a big fascist US. But the fact is that they are facilitating terrorists and until not to long ago a ruthless dictator who committed mass attrocites.

  • Bush's cock sucking ass decided to invade Iraq before the job was done in Afghanistan opening up an entirely irrelevant campaign.

Now the violence in Afghanistan is worse than it's ever been and the past 8 years of our involvement there have almost been in vain because we're starting all over again.

I'm not a fucking peacenik, but when I see good people die because of the shortcomings of the U.S. government it makes me want to vomit blood into their mouths until they choke to death.

  • We invaded Iraq for economic reasons and still; extreme recession. Obviously we've failed in our task to catch/kill Bin Laden in some semblance of a timely manner. At this point we may as well wait for the news of his death because his health will kill him before we ever do. He's a good boogeyman to bring back whenever the government wants to fool Americans into another senseless war which does not advance the interests of the lower and middle class.

  • personally, i hate bush, he was a horrible president, BUT, i don't by into this whole, iraq served no purpose shit and bush did it on purpose, thats giving the man too much credit, plus we found many stockpiles of wmds, in the hundreds. bush wasnt the first to think this, ever here of operation desert fox? look it up!

  • The big win.

  • "Full Metal Jacket," as envisioned by the director, Stanley Kubrick, was simply a movie about the process of war. And Joker's comment about the duality of man makes total sense, despite the colonel's response.

  • Answer my question or you'll be standing tall before the man!

  • The FIRST and last words out of your filthy sewers will be sir!

    Do you maggots understand that?

  • You got to give credit to the screenplay Kubrick, Herr & Hasford. Absolutely brilliant dialogue.

  • "You better get you head and your ass wired together. Or I will take a giant shit on you" lol

  • Probably my favoite part of the movie. I love how the Colonel played by Bruce Boa lectures him here.

  • 00:47

    best response to confusion ever...

  • No one wants to stand tall before the man, that's for damn sure.

  • Earlier tonite my dad told me about visiting the "American War Museum" in Hanoi (summer 2001)...

A woman in uniform approached him and led him around. When they came upon a certain area (pics of National Guardsmen keeping the peace at college protests), she turned to him and said...

"THAT is why you lost the war".

Just something to think about next time you watch this scene... might upgrade your college class grade as well ;)

  • We lost Viet Nam for several reasons. I wouldn't take the Hanoi woman's comment as gospel. What's your last comment mean? Communication skills are important.

  • @illini50 I believe we 'lost' the war was because we didn't quite understand who the South Vietnamese were. I don't think that there is a doubt in anyone's mind that if we had put pressure on the Northern Vietnamese by constant bombing raids that we could have killed their leaders and 'won' the war. However that would have been the wrong decision as many know. In retrospect we can call this war a meaningless waste of lives, however during the cold war fear was the primary motivator.

  • @icekingmonkey Some believed in the Domino Theory... others were simply interested in the same things the French were (remember the French occupied the place as a colony until they got their asses kicked out first by the Japanese for WW2 and then by the Vietnamese ).

  • @illini50 We lost Viet Nam because inside all of those Gooks were Americans who were trying to get out.

  • @illini50 I think he is suggesting that, college students would be able to get a better grade in an essay on Vietnam, if they mention the protests that went on back in the U.S and the reaction that the American government had to these protests. Although that might be my interpretation of what he was saying.

  • @illini50 Indeed we did loose Vietnam for several reasons, however, a major factor was the overall American attitude towards the war. Indeed we were taken out of our element when we were faced with the completely different millitaristic tactics that were used by the vietnamese, and i agree with what you are saying as to not taking it as gospel, but i would not downplay the significance of what she was saying. In war if you can crush the moral of the people you have already won.

  • @Darkblade192, If those that run the government really wanted to win in Vietnam, we would have won. China & Soviet weapons is what we were fighting against..

War is about MONEY, PROFITS, below are 2 great books and very interesting reading by 2 medals of honor recipient Smedley D. Butler:

War is a Racket: The Antiwar Classic by America's Most Decorated Soldier by Smedley D. Butler

The Plot to Seize the White House: The Shocking True Story of the Conspiracy to Overthrow FDR by Jules Archer

  • @casyatbat Cool story bro, I watched Zeitgiest too xD

  • @illini50 The South Vietnamese were thrown to the wolves for several reasons. One big reason was that Left fascist allies of the Bolsheviks were able to mount a successful propaganda campaign in this country. Another was because we let them do it.

It was brilliantly done, and exploited our political system masterfully. Even today, some dupes of the Leftists are proud of getting a million Vietnamese civlians killed after 1975 and having most of the rest of Indochina enslaved.

  • @DrCruel It's a bit more complicated than that....if Prince Sihanouk hadn't been overthrown in Cambodia in 1970 (likely with the knowledge of the CIA), the chain of events that lead to the rise of the Khmer Rouge never would've occurred.

  • @AliceNchainz011 Really? Is there a similarly complicated system of causation that blames the rise of the Pathet Lao on the US too? How about the rise of the North Vietnamese communists? The latter in particular were very similar in murderous intentions and deeds to their once-and-now-again Khmer Rouge allies.

Might the rise of the Khmer Rouge have more to do with, say - out on a limb here - massive weapons aid from the PRC, and their North Vietnamese "comrades" who helped them into power?

  • @DrCruel Well yeah, I did say it was complicated. But yes, Sihanouk was a neutralist and even Laos had a short-lived coalition government. Efforts to go after the communist apparatus in these countries without finishing the job (though the possibility of success of that is still debatable even with american aid, tho we will never know) ensured that those countries would be destablized and the power vacuum filled.

  • @AliceNchainz011 Let's be fair. The Americans who contributed the most to the success of Left fascism in Indochina were the American socialist seditionists. They led a brilliant campaign of duplicity and lies that would have shamed the Nazis. Many of their most prominent figures, like Noam Chomsky and Angela Davis, are still alive today - and profited mightily from their dirty deeds.

  • @DrCruel

Please, explain. Why do you call "fascists" the Vietnamese who fought and die for the independence of their country? What do you mean? Was George Washington a "fascist"?

  • @Dualismoassoluto I didn't say the South Vietnamese patriots were "fascists". I said the North Vietnamese communist invaders financed by the Soviet Union were. If you look at how the Indochinese Empire is run, you'll see those Hanoi mafioso are still in charge too. Some of them are the same goons that seized power in 1975. Even that Khmer Rouge thug, Hun Sen, is still puttering around in Cambodia.

    What are you on about?

  • @DrCruel

Ok, but the South Vietnamese Gov was financed by the United States. So the Vietnamese people (who lived in the North and the South of the country) were caught between the hammer and the anvil.

  • @Dualismoassoluto

Indochina was a Cold War battlefield, and who payed the highest price? The Vietnamese people - and the Cambodians.

  • @Dualismoassoluto More like the hammer and sickle. Helping someone defend against an invasion is different from financing the conquest of another country.

But that's all over now. The Indochinese people are now the property of their benevolent Marxist in Hanoi. Given the growth over the last decade in their export trade to the US, those hard working slaves have proven to be a very lucrative property too.

  • @AliceNchainz011 The funniest bit? It's that the Vietnamese Left fascists have made Indochina into a slave labor heaven for the multinationals. The Marxist overlords of Indochina might be soulless bastards, but they're also greedy as fuck, and are clearly keen to sell the labor of their enslaved people to the highest bidder. No worries from labor unrest either - after what these psychopaths have done, most everyone knows better than to so much as raise a peep of protest.

    Yeah. Real complex.

  • @DrCruel

Hey man, you're saying interesting things. Your point of view is quite unusual.

  • @Dualismoassoluto My point of view is common sensical.

Don't trust me. Do your own research. Look up news articles on contemporary Indochinese politics. Check out what's been happening since Clinton signed that trade agreement back in 1998.

Follow the money. It's not a hard trail to find.

  • lol how tru cdesade that is why we lost the war why the romans and our forbears the british empire went the way of the dinosaur joker may not know it but peace and war r intrinsic one does not exist without the other both will always exist so it behooves us to stay vigilant to stay violent if u will and train our sons in the ways of knighthood take the war to foreign shores spread our ways and customs or other ways and customs will be spread to us at the tip of a sword9figuratuvely) semper fi

  • @cdesade You ever read about the Pentagon Papers? What the Pentagon knew versus what they spoon fed the troops and the public is very different. Virtually everything the Govt said was a deliberate lie. The Vietnamese quite simply did not want to be occupied, they'd kicked out the French in one bloody war, and were willing to lose 100 men for every US soldier. That's why you lost the war. Blame the media, blame the hippies if you're not brave enough to blame your leaders.

  • @cdesade If you're well educated on the history of the Marines abroad, I'm sure you know who Smedley Butler is right? He was USMC Major General, 34 years in the Corps, served in Cuba, Phillipines, HoudurasChina, prior to WW1 when he was in France. Wrote quite a good but short book too.

  • @cdesade We lost the war strategically and politically, but it was definitely a tactical victory.

  • @cdesade the point was not to win

  • @cdesade Clausewitz predicted the outcome of Vietnam as well as the outcome of any invasion of Afghanistan.

Wars of occupation do not end well.

    Good for war profiteers though.

  • Haha, 'gotta keep our heads together until this peace craze blows over.'

Now there's a well formed plan.

  • "Now answer my question -- or you'll be standing tall before The Man!"

  • "or i will take a giant shit on you..." ha ha

  • " How bout gettin with the program".

"Why dont you jump on the team and come in for the Big Win!" Dude I love that part!

  • "You better get your ass and your head wired together or i WILL take a giant SHIT on you." xD

  • Is that you John Wayne, Is this me?

  • Who said that, who the fuck said that!

  • "Inside of every gook, there is an American trying to get out..."

  • i think iraq was for oil too and it still is but i don't blame the military for it. Its the government's fault. I support our troops don't blame them they're just following orders and serving our country

  • "I think I was trying to suggest something about the duality of man sir."

    "The what?"

"The duality of man. The Jungian thing, sir."

"...Whose side are you on, son?"

  • is the iraq war for oil or for peace? but there are some terrorist forces that disturb the peace and I think we invaded iraq because it was a threat to israel ,SEE! we are doing their dirty work!

  • who cares what the war is for or y... we r Americans... we dont give a Fuk... its all for the thrill.

  • Men have half their faces shot off and are disfigured in war some men have to pee in a plastic bag for the rest of their life due to their war injury, others lose their eye sight and can never see their wife and kids again.

That's just the physical injuries many soldiers have terrible nightmares and suffer from PTSD disorder.

    Still think it's a thrill?

  • thats funny since Jordan and Egypt fought with us againt Iraq in the first Gulf war. Are you saying that they are doing Isreal's dirty work too?

  • I consider the war in Iraq to be for the spread of American influence in a region of economic importance. Influence over oil trade Im sure would factor in but I doubt its as big of a factor as many people believe.
