It's not fake. It's called live looping . LIVE being the key word. I record the rhythm track, sing, record a percussive track, play leads and sing the rest. If you look at the end of the vid you can see a blue pedal. That is what records the loops. See my other vids such as "this seems to be working" for other examples of live looping.
