Shouldnt be pushing that nose down. You should be holding the yoke back and lowering it slowly to the ground. if you are afraid holding the yoke back will make you lift off the ground again, then you're touchdown speed is too high

a 747 would not handle like that, you cant bring it in so fast and slam it down like that, you came in too low mate, you need to be higher and probably use a 3.3 degree negative glide angle to smoothly bring her down. good Nav skills though

and one thing, idk if u did this or not, but instead of using the brakes after landing u should use the spoilers/air brakes and reversers, idk if u did, but it would make it more professional, n i think u slow down faster with air brakes then u do with gear brakes idk, but it would seem more profesionnal.

Actually  it is fairly standard to use Groundspoilers, rev thrust (above 60knts) and auto brakes upon landing not just the spoilers and rev however it is always up to the pilot in command.

thanks for the compliment; i did, however, use the third setting of the autobrake, as well as the spoilers and the reverse thrusters until i reached a speed of 80 knots (you can barely hear the thrust reversers engaging and disengaging).

@Sharod101 I don't know how the models in FSX handle this, but when you use the third autobrake setting in real life, the engines will barely have time to spool up in order to get the reversers going. Don't forget that you should start to lower your reverse thrust once again when you reach 80 knots, to be fully out of RT by 60.

The spoilers are quite handy because they push the wheels down on the tarmac, but when on a full brake landing, the thrust reversers will hardly do anything.

i have the exact same problem, airscrew; the gameplay is fluid and without any lag, however, when I use FRAPS to record the flight, it gets very laggy. a lot of people on youtube choose to hassle me a lot just because of this.

hey if u haven't already tried this, just play it back in the instant replay and instead of fraps, use a video camera.. at least thats what I've started doing.. sometimes I fraps only for the views from outside the plane--like a tower view..

I don't know if and how to do it with a keyboard. But you have to get the frequency of the runway first of all (from the maps) they you put it into the NAV 1, then when your starting approach you check the GPS/NAV switch is on NAV, activate nav one then in auto pilot press APP and it should fly you down. But you still need to control speed I think.

Thanks Bob, in this video I'm not using the default 747 that is provided in FS2004; the aircraft that I always fly with is the PMDG 747-400 Queen of the Skies, which I downloaded off of precisionmanuals(dot)com. It's a great plane - the level of detail is amazing; it is extremely similar to the real thing - for those who are looking to play flight simulator at a higher degree of realism and complexity. it depends on the plane, if you're flying an airliner into a controlled airport, i think standard practice is to lower the landing gear when the landing clearance is given (usually around 7 nm out). sometimes when i land an airliner light on passengers and fuel, i'll lower the gear early to help bleed off speed. if you're in a small GA aircraft like a piper arrow, you can lower the gear within a few nm's of the airport. Fly a 172, and you won't have to worry about it :p

Nice landing. I want to remind you something. when it is 80 knots after touchdown, disengage the reverse thrust. And I think you need to activate reverse thrust after nose gear touchdown. Anyways good job mate.
