What's the plastic box around your waist for? I'm coming up to Eucumbene saturday for a week. I fish with mudeyes, but my mate is going to fish fly only , so far he has caught numerous bushes, hat, coat, the car, he's hopless. But I give him credit for trying. Could you name a couple of flies he might try, thats if he can get them into the water. Thanks.
G'day the plastic box is a stripping basket. The fly line can be stripped into it when wading or when chasing fish up and down the bank to avoid it getting tangled on the ground, sticks, weed etc. Didn't really need it on this particular evening, but it can come in handy.
If your mate were to try an olive or black beadhead nymph, a stick caddis, a midge pupa, tom jones or small hamills killer he should be able to hook into a couple. Just make sure he gets it in the water!
What part of the lake are you fishing at? Looks like Breamar Bay?
