  • HEY FAT KID NICE SHOOTING! ** chambers round ** "the names HORRACE!"

  • yup the 80s were so much better!! they are remaking this WTF!!!

  • Holy crap a kid's film with badass creatures and the kids use shotguns!? This proves just how awesome the 80s was, they had balls, unlike today's neutered down crap.

  • It's always weird when you randomly remember/talk about something you haven't thought about for over a decade, only to have it randomly in your face on youtube not long after. WEIRD.

  • "See ya later, BAND-AID BREATH!"

I thought the kid with the leather jacket was just the coolest.

  • So this is what gave me nightmares, make me afraid to go upstairs, be alone and have total fear up until I was 8? My mind processes everything to male it more scary than it is

  • have you ever been dorked?

  • great movie the werewolf used to scare the crap out of me when i was little

  • james nintendo nerd

  • hero kids?... naaaaah, i pass james.

  • Fucking awesome movie!

  • This was a great movie. I remember being about 6 or 7 years old when I saw this the first time. I remember being genuinely scared at times, and I remember laughing at other parts (e.g. wolfman's nards). This movie is classic, I highly recommend it.

  • Now this I never even heard of...I want to see it now!

  • So much better than The Goonies

  • "Come on guys he's friends with us dont be chicken shit" Haha if u have seen the whole movie you know what im talking about haha!

  • "My name is Horace!" click click

  • Watching this tonight. Love the vulgarity for the kids, realistic.

  • good memories

  • its hard to find shows that are genuinely funny and genuinely scary at the same time

  • Top film!

  • what a classic film

  • Great movie, I was terrified back the when I was a kid, today horror movies are all about cgi

  • "Wolf mans got nards" i memorized every line lol

  • hahahhah I LUV THIS FLICK!

  • ive been looking 4 this movie!!! lol luv it :)

  • @brnleague99 they don't make these "kids save the day" movies anymore. I've always wanted sequels to my three favorites: The Goonies, The Lost Boys, & Monster Squad. We're on 2 garbage sequels for Lost Boys but none for the others. P.S. they've already got a remake in the works for Monster Squad. Cheers.

  • Scary German Guy lives!

  • "Wolf Man got narcs"

  • They shouldnt remake it only because...well, this movie is crap, but was made in 80's and its fun only because it has that campy 80's feel...and in modern times, it just wont work.

  • "My name, is Horace!"

  • I always wished they'd made a sequel to this movie. I envisioned the villains being more classics like The Phantom of the Opera, The Thing, The Blob, The Bride of Frankenstein, all being led by Son of Dracula Alucard. Wishful thinking.

  • @donpstar While I too like Classic horror (1920-1970), I don't feel this great movie needs a sequel. It stands alone.

  • "wolfmans got nards!"

  • The Monster Squad reboot will get released by 2014 or 15. Thats all I know

  • the sequel would be cool but like i said before they have to at least have Andre Gower and Ryan Lambert in the movie or otherwise i won't see it cause for me Andre and Ryan are the monster squad and no one can be as good in those characters as they can!

  • the only way i would watch the sequel or remake is if they have Andre Gower and Ryan Lambert in the movie cause for me those two are the monster squad and no one can replace them so they better be in it!

  • i thought this was better than the goonies!!!!!

  • what happened to dracula's brother? read: "Last Rites: The Return of Sebastian Vasilis" to find out

  • best movie ever

  • terrible trailer. Made it look like a zucker brothers comedy when actually it was a hell of a lot more dramatic...the comedy came from the kids reactions and the audiences warm recognition of the classic horror elements inserted into the modern suburb.

  • Wolfman got nards

  • they are the only ones ready to do battle... crazy kids!

  • Does anyone know what the classical music was?

  • Remember Stephen King Rules.....:D

  • Hollywood...seriously need to actually work and make new films. I mean how many classic cult 80's and 80's films can you remake and ruin?

Good god...thank god I was lucky enough to watch these great films the first time around. Seems as though Hollywood have nothing better to do than to remake, filsm that don't need to eb remade.

At least promote the greatness of the films and re-relase them in the cinema!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok, rant over this film was the BOMB!!!!

  • Instead of a remake, they should do a sequel that takes place 12 years later and has to do with some kind of Lovecraftian millenium cult. The recurring characters would be in their late teens or early 20s and would be played by different actors. They would all retain their original skill sets but would be more experienced. One of them should be like Burt Gummer from Tremors (let's say Horace just for the sake of irony).

  • My name... is HORACE!

  • check out lastritespromo if you like this type of think

  • Kick him in the nards!

    What?

    Kick him in the nards!

    Wolfman don't got nards!

    Just do it!

    (THUMP!)

    (GROWL)

    Wolfman's got nards...

  • Mini Van Helsing

  • The music at the start is from "Fright Night" right?? thats another great 80s horror/comedy

  • lol 1:34.

    "the name is HORUS".

    hhaahah.

  • Wolman's got nards!

  • If they remade this. All the effects would be CGI and that would piss me off. I miss practical effects.

  • I used To see this movie with my dad (rip)!! It remember me my childhood

  • Jonathan Brandis would've been pefect for that role

  • love this movie, i bring it up all the time to friends a fam. and no one knows about it. but its up there with goonies with me. is it better no not really. but to me in my opinion it just reminds me of being a kid like goonies. and the never ending story is another one. my generation didnt use the cgi stuff,

  • LOL! Stan Winston got kicked in the nards!

  • Because of the trashy remakes, they should write this line:

"You know which movie to watch when you have ghosts. But which movie do you call when you have monsters?"

    The Monster Squad...The Original!

  • @a45027 why dont they just leave movies alone

  • @johndoe590 You know Micheal Bay. All he wants is to get people entering his movies in theaters so his bag of money could grow. On the bright side, at least he tries to bring a story, the complete opposite of Ronald Emmerich. That dude doesn't give a sweat about stories.

  • I think I just OD'd on nostalgia.

  • this is one of those really underrated 80s movies.

  • i seen this movie long time ago, im 16 and i think i saw it at age 5 when i seen it with my brother, i realy love old movies i realy hope that thay dont do a remake of this

  • my childhood!!!

  • WOLFMAN's GOT NARDS! :O

  • This movie kicked ass, I was 10 when it came out, I heard Corey Haim passed this up for lost boys.

  • @gordokc77 Corey made the right descion.

  • the relationship between the Frankenstein and the little girl was tooooooooo sweet.

  • Wolfman is eating all our steak!

  • is that Andy Milanokis? LoL

  • I saw this 100 times when I was little.

  • im 14 and the classics are always tha best and they always have original but hillarius lines

  • lol totaly remeber this..im 26

  • It's common knowledge that WOLFMAN DOES HAVE NARDS!!!

  • I have to say this movie has the best portrayal of the wolfman I've seen in any movie, the gill man too!!!!

  • oooohhh myyyy i love this movie

  • I used to looooveee t his movie!!

  • this movie made me form my own 'monster squad'.. cdnt find a fukin monster though

  • I like seeing comments from so many people around the world who shared the same movie experiences as me regarding what I thought was not such a popular movie. It is the same with the peanut butter solution. I bet someone here used to watch that as a kid too, and probably got freaked out by it as well ha ha. It was weird.

  • ninja turtles part 4 lol...

  • lol omg I use to watch this ALL the time when I was little

  • @xwinkwinko Did you ever watch the peanut butter solution as well?

  • Being of the younger generation (20) I grew up watching the good movies like this. To bad they dont make em like this anymore :\

  • it's like the goonies verson of VanHelsing.

  • you know I still haven't seen this film, I'm gonna watch it now...if I can find it on youtube.

  • Best line in the movie - "I'm in the g*d d*mn club, aren't I."

  • loved this movie! "who let the dog in here?"lol

  • This movie was the best!!

  • I remember when this movie came out in 1988. I was 8 years old renting it on VHS ha ha. Great movie. I still love it to this day!

  • Comment removed

  • they are making a remake of this movie and its gonna be made by michael bay (he made the transformers movies)

  • he also made the TCM and new Nightmare remakes, maybe it won't suck

  • @cheapcape and he also produced friday the 13th. which was terrible.

  • i wish they would have made this rated r, it would have been funny to me to see the 5 most famous monsters in history massacre a bunch of kids!

  • damn this movie came out two years b4 i was born

  • @wassgo0d031 Son?

  • what??

  • That means you can't watch it.

  • Wolfman's got nuts!

    LMAO

  • His name is....Horace.

    NOT Homer.

  • R.I.P.Brent Chalem (Homer, the kid that kicks the werewolf in the nards)

  • did i catch a hint of the 'fright night' theme at the beginning of that trailer or was it just me?

  • Ditto

  • this takes me back to when i was 9, love it !

  • damn i was 2 years old wen this came out and i just looked at the trailer and its my first time watching it and it looks good

  • Wolfman got Nards !

  • there's nothing funnier than kicking the wolfman in the balls.

  • One of the best movies ever made

  • I really HOPE they dont decided to retool or remake this movie and many of tha great comedy, horror, and sci fi movies from tha 80's and early 90's.This movie was tha shit sooo many good lines and tha action was good.Hollywood is running out of ideals I mean seriously ever fuckin show, cult classic,or cartoon doesnt need to be captured in live action film unless its Ninja Turtles they need a new live action film ASAP!!

  • @thuggin83 they are

  • @thuggin83 they are going to remake this movie. united states remakes everything.

  • @thuggin83 I've got some bad news for you:

"A remake of The Monster Squad is being produced by Rob Cohen and is currently in the planning stages.[4] Platinum Dunes will produce the film and Paramount Pictures will shoot the project[5].[6] Writing team Brian and Mark Gunn have been hired to pen the script.[7]"

  • @TheRealAkaRai I hope they leave it set in 1987. Or sometime in the '90s if they really have to depart from the source material. Every time they do a remake and bring the story into present time, they make it unrelatable because they're too preoccupied with modern cliches, internet memes (which I'm cool with if left in a proper context), product placement, 2much cussin, and overuse of cellphones. I mean, look at the NES version of Bionic Commando compared to the new one. Same with Splatterhouse.

  • @thuggin83 Well said dude. They should re-lease all classic 80's ansd 90's films instead of destroying them with crappy remakes.

With amount of money Hollywood has...why not use to make original films.

God...ruining my childhood all the time....with there crap!!!

  • @thuggin83

If they remake the movie one kid will be emo one kid will be an apple faggot one will be black and the girl will be asian

  • i miss this movie lol

  • totally like scooby-doo; except no dog

  • I Watched This All Tha Time

  • wolf man has nards! lol

  • First time I saw this film I mistakenly thought the guy playing Dracula was Kelsey Grammer for some reason...

  • i remember this film when i was so young and make myself the hotty ^

  • Someone recomend me a good monster movie that isnt too old maybe no older than the 70s and not for kids.

  • PHANTASM

  • This movie was a big deal in the eighties but is one of those movies that would go straight to video today. It's interesting to observe how much the standards of quality and what people deem as 'entertaining' have gone up.

  • then by that measure so would Goonies. Goonies is some coveted classic of 80's youth but it's actually a pretty lousy movie.

  • I disagree its not a lousy movie. And I'm not talking about plot. I'm talking more along the lines on what people deem as entertainment. For example the 'special effects' contained in this movie would be unacceptable by today's standards. I'm not dogging the movie, just saying that audience today has become a lot more spoilt/high maintenance. Just an observation.

  • yeah, but personally I still like this movie and think a lot of "horror" movies these days aren't that great, lol. Kind of hit-or-miss i think

  • this movie kicked arse i loved this shit when i was a kid

  • dude i watched this when i was 6, rudy was a badass

  • FRED COMMENTED ON MY CHANNEL

  • Why was the score from "Fright Night" used in the very beginning of the trailer?

    Did anybody else catch that??

  • yea i was like wtf

  • Yup i noticed :D

  • Right On! It's all about Little Monsters too ;)

  • If u LOVE goonies....TRUST ME.
