@imthebrother I was at the music shop last evening and Yamaha has a new "custom" trumpet called the Eric Miyashiro. I didn't blow it but it is probably a nice horn a few hundred more than the Bobby Shew, which I have.

I was there and I met back stage with every one, Roger is an amazing lead player, he doesn't do the out front soloing like for rocky, but for about 3 days he was in the back blowing triple d's with eric and Bobby, and he was fatigued, I had a lesson with him earlier that day as well. Everyone that played trumpet that night gave props to maynard as it took three of them to do what maynard used to do every night. that came directly from eric who was sick. Please don't knock these guys.

Eric seems to be the only person in the trumpet section of this gig who hadn't been drinking heavily down the pub before the show! Some of the 'greatest' section players in the world, and it's so scrappy! The rest of the gig is a let down, such a shame. Who knows what was wrong with everyone!
