  • When I was working in a Sam Goody in 92 I found No Dice. Had to get it and love the whole entire album.

  • Wow

  • So sad about tom and pete.

  • It's terrible that these 'thrown-together' lousy singers and groups of today can make-a-million off of one bad song that was haphazzardly written FOR THEM; but, talented groups like Badfinger who wrote and recorded their own songs, couldn't make-a-million with four (4) charted hits - that are legendary!?!?

An "ASSHOLE" manager; no laws to protect the band; etc!?!?

This also happened to Creedence Clearwater Revival, and, to John Fogerty; and, I 'believe' to Jethro Tull, at one early time!?

  • OMG they wrote WithoutYou....I love that song...wtf ? why wasnt this band Rich...they was badly robbed n just fukin awesome.....I am deffo a lifetime fan now

  • I learned about Don Arden not too long ago.. And now I find out about Stan Pauley. : (

  • @Khultan Don't forget Lou Pearlman!

  • Correction on All Things Must Pass being George's first album: technically, it's his third. The first being the soundtrack to Wonderwall and then the experimental album Electronic Sounds. But what's George's "real" first album? All Things Must Pass.

  • you know who badfinger needed as a manager? richard cole and peter grant, they would've been so rich with them as managers.

  • A PENAS PARA REGISTRAR AS NOVAS GERAÇÕES NÃO SABEM QUEM FORAM OS BADFINGERS, FALTA A NOVA MIDIA MOSTRAR A HISTORIA DO ROCK, VALEU BAD FINGER,

  • It's acceptable to occasionally beat the crap out of your manager to make sure they are...honest..

  • Some things really ought to be more important than greed, and music should be one of those things, esp. music like this, it should be sacrosanct, and the musicians should be rewarded for being responsible for writing this kind of art.

  • Stan Polley another Alan Cline!!

  • They were so talented and their music just grips your heart. But so heart breaking to think of what happened.

  • Ivey love these guys!

  • Pete looked like Lennon's little brother

  • Pete and Tom wrote the killer hit "Without You". Amazing

  • When you get caught up in all the buzz and the world of sucsessful record's and

band,No one is really watching the store,There's not one of you guy's out there

who never stole a piece of gum because you can,That was their manager Stan

living through their fame and fortune he did it because someone allowed him to do so,Let this be a lesson to all who pass through the same gate's.

  • ...THE RAPE OF A GENIUS...BY THEIR MANAGEMENT...SUICIDE WAS THE ONLY RELIEF...AND IT WAS DONE...THE WORLD PAID GREATLY FOR THE LOSS OF HAMM....

  • @hughilene - And, Evans, later. I cannot, and never will, understand how Badfinger's powerful friends, like George Harrison and Paul McCartney, and others, didn't come to their rescue!?!? Or, if they did, why Stan Polley wasn't crushed and Badfinger saved!?!?

I have ALL of Badfinger's albums, and they're FANTASTIC - but no one I ever run into has even heard of them - SO VERY SAD!!! Has anyone ever heard the song, "Crimson Ship?" What a magnificent tune!!! :)

  • @classiclistener01

Read the book "You Never Give Me Your Money". The Beatles were going through their problems as well with Allen Klein(who was running Apple until 1973) & with themselves. So The Beatles were going through with their issues and couldn't help Badfinger at all. Plus the man that brought them to Apple was let go in 1971 by Klein. Check out the book, it's really good.

  • stan polley is a piece of shit i hope he burns in an eternal torturous blazing scorching hell

  • Polley is a............J==================W

  • the band that could have been but never was

  • Paul, how did you let this happen to your friends? How do you sleep at night ?

  • Does it make sense for joey to be collecting royalties from Without You, a song written only by Tom Evans and Pete Ham? Isn't justice served that the money from this lucrative all time hit goes directly to the children of Ham and Evans? joey was whining to evans how he wanted money from Without You. I will never buy anything molland churns out, nor will I see any of this creep's shows.

  • One thing I notice listening to the backup tracks to this documentary is that they did a lot of REALLY GOOD sounding stuff that I've never heard.

  • Stan Polley is a hook nose sub-humanoid piece of shit.. he makes Terry Knight of Grandfunk seem like a saint. Also fuck the leech Joey Molland...

  • Beautiful...such a special group.

  • Stan Polley . Hook nose. nuff said

  • Stan Polley.....Big mistake unfortunately.

Its so sad what happened to Pete and Tom

  • stan polley wasnt a manager he was a leach out to line his own pocket.

  • I bought their records as they were released, even have a couple of bootlegs. I too, expected them to be filling arenas in the U.S.. then heard about Pete's death. Truly sad They rank right up there WITH the Beatles in my mind.

  • I hope Stan Polley burns in HELL!

A sad lesson to be learned in those days of trusting managers and record labels that basically fucked allot of talent!

They where not the only ones...just the ones that preferred the quit of death over fighting it out and going the distance with these fuckers that ended the great talent of Pete and Tom.

But everything dies baby that s a fact...but maybe everything that dies some day comes back!

Maybe they'll come back and get it right!

  • Stan Polley has a reserved seat next to the devil in HELL!!..I love the "Atlantic City" song reference..

  • "But everything dies baby that s a fact...but maybe everything that dies some day comes back!"

    NICE!

  • One mistake here: the guy said All Things Must Pass was Harrison`s first solo album; what about Wonderwall Music in 68???

  • first solo album of real SONGS. "Wonderwall Music" and "Electronic Sound" were completely instrumental.

  • @estyle40 The Beatles were still together Wonderwall Music was a side project for George Harrison.

  • Badfinger is and was the best band I have ever heard when it comes to power pop they are or were simply awesome" no matter what "

  • I totally split my gut at 5:24 ...two years with top 10 singles let alone number one singles, top of the charts, hanging with the beatles and yet no cars for anyone and still sharing a house together as a band. Holy christ how stoned where you guys?

  • @3gypt1an young and from poor families..a friend of mine knew Bowie and said ' uk pop stars have bad teeth, theyre from the lower class'

  • I remember when this episode was first run on TV. A great band that deserved much better things.

The only other band that I can think of that should have had success was probably Big Star. However, Big Star was almost doomed from the start (band infighting, comically inept record distribution). Whereas Badfinger had a solid 3 year run of hit songs & sold out shows, only to be destroyed by a sociopath named Stan Polley and an indifferent Bill Collins.

    Such a shame!

  • At 3:54 you see Pete with Beverly, who by the way was a drop-dead knock-out in these and other home photos of her.

  • may Stan Polley rot in hell!

  • actually it was Eric Clapton and what became Derek and the Dominos that was the backing band on most of All Things Must Pass.

Badfinger adds backing support, but not as the central band unit of that recording.

  • the real album press was done by badfinger it was edited,at the live concert eric clapton did perform live

  • and.. Peter Frampton. John Lennon, Dave Mason, Phil Collins, Gary Wright, Ringo and Jim Gordon, Alan White, Ginger Baker

  • Day After Day,Baby Blue,No Matter What, some of the greatest records ever made.R.I.P. Pete

  • Apple of my eye is my favorite as well!

  • In '71, when I was 9, and all the other girls were into Donny Osmond, I was into Pete Ham and Badfinger. All these years later, I feel exactly the same. I'll always love Pete. I admire so much about him. He was obviously the ultimate creative guy...but he must not have seen the magnitude of it within himself.. I wish I could have known him, rescued him. Bet a lot of us would love to go back in time and save him and Tom. At least their music will go on and on, hopefully forever.

  • haha, that's adorable! (the whole Donny Osmond/Pete Ham thing)

He was such an amazing guy. I Definitly agree with you; eversince I became a fan of Badfinger, I've wanted SO BAD to go back in time to save both of them.If someone just happened to be home/awake at Pete's house that night, may be he could've been saved. Poor man.

I love watching him in videos. There's just something unexplainably amazing about Pete.

  • It really breaks my heart to watch this series of videos...

  • What about me ? I'm 23 and I just can't stop listening to their music, finding out about them, making tribute vids of them, having their photos on the walls and etc.

I feel like I've really missed the best era of the real music and you're such a lucky lady man!

Really can't get them out of my head and I prefer to leave it that way....they'll always be loved by me and will never be forgotten...

soon we will meet the boys there in heaven....rest in peace wonder boys!

  • And what planet are you from? PMcC was the least of their problems.

  • i don't trust mcartney

  • merci pour la vidéo

  • what can i say !!Brill.
