"Nothing can purify one as well as prayer!" says he (6:09).
Inexact. Jesus when praying asked the Father to sanctify them through His truth. I know sanctifying (making holy) is not exactly what purify means (it depends on the translation.)
However other synonyms for "purifying" in the Old Testament and New deal with blood sacrifices, necessarily. Jesus was that Lamb.
Jesus' truth purifies men. Authentic Prayer comes from the Holy Scriptures. The Bible is key, yet he does not say this.
@PilgrimRoy He is refering to the bible. He saying nothing new "prayer brings you closer to God...purifies you". The grace of God purifies people not rituals and humility and prayer attract his grace ...thus you become purified. I think this monk is right on..."blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God" After all the Lady asked the question "how can a person talk to God directly ". Well he gave the answer...purity...without it you can't see God, he reveled a mystery.
I would suspect he loves them as human beings and would do anything within his powers to turn them all to Christ, because he knows there is no perfect love outside Jesus.
yes, but at that point, he wasn't talking about prayer, he was talking about a case where a man could actually speak to God face to face (sort of), that is an Epiphany, and he's saying that it can only happen to chosen people, one in many many thousands of men and women.
perhaps, although according to Orthodox teachings, visions of Heaven (real ones and not just demonic lies) only occur to one person in a generation. I purposely left out the near death experiences, because, if they truly happen, they happen to people who are, technically, dead, at least at that moment.
I wanted to cry at every last word.....
I think i may want to be a munk when i grow up.

What he says is so simple, but yet so difficult. Loving one another (that is, the world and all of humanity) is the hardest commandment.

I think i've seen this about 20 times and still not enough.
Some mentions:
9:14 we the monks are not allowed (or cannot allow ourselves) to scold or insult anyone.
9:22 not even to raise our hand above a child's head
God bless the one who made this video.
