Well, yes, but the original Red and Green are kind of swept under the rug. It was very unpolished and they were still working out the kinks at that point. Not to say that Red and Blue were perfect, but from what I've heard they fixed up a ton of the bad from Red and Green.

I have no idea what's going on in the comments, but I agree with none of you on the 1st gen haters or the late gen haters. Just because something is the first, does not mean it's the best. I personally think RBY has an unfair nostalgic advantage. And as for the new games, they perfected the glitches and all, the storylines are deeper, but c'mon. New isn't always the best either. I can only hope someone else will see my point of view. This generation fighting needs to END.

@BunnyofFailures Actually there was a green version that was only released in japan being the third game before yellow, but green never was released in other country's. that aside, I think they released Firered and Leafgreen because in Japan the order of release was, "Red and Green, Blue, and then yellow" hope this helped!
