  • I would enjoy the tab for this so much i could cry..

  • 4 Dislikers don't deserve oxygen to breathe.

  • Becker has lived with ALS for over 20 years. He may be the second longest survivor beside Stephen Hawking.

  • Amazing guitarist!

Its just so sad that out of all the players in the world he suffers... So unfair...

  • He was the only person who could've kept David Lee Roth's career alive until Eddy came back, case in point

  • i love county mucis

  • The hand shape at 0:32 made me realize that I know nothing about guitar...

  • i need tabs... i can't find them. And i'm not good enought to make them...

  • 4 Justin Bieber checked this video out for some reason.

  • @midmid Super original. Would you people actually just shut up. If you hate him so much you should realise that saying his name on every video just makes him more popular.

  • @LunarLionheart I didn't try to be original, I don't hate him. and no one gives a shit if he gets more popular.

  • @midmid I think you tried to be funny, and it's not.

  • @midmid Then why do you post it ?

It seems kind of senseless to me.

  • @midmid lol jason becker fans don't tolerate that bullshit

  • @slashes1122

It would have probably have been more funny if he said "4 people gave up playing the guitar" or "The world now has 4 more bass players"

  • @D1vid3By0 If the last statement was true then they'd have quit when they saw most good tech death bands. ;)

  • I remember listening for the first time this song back in 1990 when that album came out. My jaw fell out when those insane arpeggios were fired up by Jason Becker, not to mention the fantastic bluesy solo that comes after.

  • best guitar player ever jason u rule man

  • Jason flows through so many styles & feels with effortless perfection... WOW!

  • this has take your whiskey home written all over it. great playing.

  • minute 1:31 camera man has an orgasm by looking at jason play so amazingly

  • I don't like expressing myself with swear words, but, holy shit, man! Truly one of the most amazing guitarists I've ever heard. And he never even reached his full potential.

  • I Would wear a hat every day, just to take it off every time i saw him play.

  • LONG LIVE JASON BECKER!!!!

  • those 4 who not like that video are sillier than any other person in the world

  • those 4 who not like that video are sillier than any other person in the world

  • jason is a really inspiring guitarist.thts for sure. his style n all

  • THERE ARE NO WORDS FOR THIS MAN>>>> EPIC??????

  • Love those Carvins

  • I have done a rough cover version of this on my channel, although I'm well aware I am playing a few chords differently (aka wrong) but it is more of a Becker inspired jam than a cover.

well to be fair i should probably figure it our exactly cos theres some great chords in there

  • what are the chords he's playing at 1:02? I'm dying to know!

  • @KeyOfStrife I`ve got some sections of this song figured out using my ear,

as for the chords in 1min into this vid:

First one is A add9 ,tab is (x-12-11-9-0-0)

    next is C#m7 (x-11-11-9-0-0),then Edim7 (x-10-11-9-0-0) and last one is F#m9 (x-9-11-9-0-0)

Hope I got it right, anyway if you notice what he`s doing is just a chromatic move on the bass notes.

  • @dvary89 just a correction,the last chord should be named F#m11 (root-b3-5-b7-11)

  • how dare someone cough during his playing... they should be shot.

  • @somberedshadows HAHAHA!!! What if you break wind? In fact, isn't that a Spinal Tap album

  • @Painkiller86 Well, depends on how hard that wind is blown. The smell wouldn't distract my youtube watching. Maybe the tone of the guitar changes a little.

  • dammit i cant watch youtube videos at school

  • so monster inspiration and playabiilty he had

  • At the end, Jason's like... mmm ok i had to stop cause i can kill people in front :S

    4:16

  • Sempre il più bravo!

  • I personally want to punch the 3 dislikes in the face.

Jason Becker is truly a god.

  • Okay, knock it off with the "truly a god" nonsense! He's a terrific guitarist/musician and let's leave it at that!

  • @theepolishprince shut up hes the best guitarist in the world !!

he plays things that you and i could never imagine

  • @theepolishprince Hm, terrific... i dotn know that word, maybe you ment "best" or something like that?!

  • IT'S AWESOME SUPERCLEAN!

  • without distortion ..

  • he never just hits a note.He always hits it in a way that sounds cool

  • the only reason i cant listen to him constantly is..... jealousy

  • Killer song. Very "Roth-y" if you know what I'm trying to say.

  • @Scarified2012 Funny, I was thinking of a word to describe this song :D

    "Roth-Y"

  • @rpeltch07 Glad I could help!

  • They're making a movie!! - Check it out on Facebook - Jason Becker Movie: Perpetual Burn

  • I would sell everything I own just to meet him in person. Everything except my guitar.

  • @michiganboy10 Why don't you just email him through facebook and tell him you want to meet him. He will probably do it. He met me, and then I fell in love with him. :)

  • Is anyone making TABs for this song??

  • @AnonymousD0n0r

Probably not. You know there's such a thing as using your ear to figure out songs too. Just sayin'.

  • for you who didn't like this and for you who says that this is nothing or no good: jason can do things that you can't imagine, you liked it or not. he is a burst of talent, emotions and feeling that you ignorant assholes wish to have and you hate jason because he has that and you don't. so I say you this: You can suck my motherfucking cock and get the fuck away from jason and go listen to your faggy justin bieber and I dont know what else.

  • @jimmyleppard6 I like this but your the ignorant one for insulting people's opinions and stereotypically using Justin Bieber as an insult.

  • One thing i think is great about Jason Becker in my opinion, he is not a deterrent for guitarists, he is an inspiration.

  • The reason that I play guitar! Jason is an inspiration! Most talented man ever!

  • And the thing that makes (him being stricken with that horrible disease) so much more tragic is that he seemed like a really cool guy. There'll be a special place in heaven for him when that time comes.

  • This truly shows how excellent Jason Becker can do sweeps.. He hits every note cleanly when sweeping. Try that yourself and if you're good at it then you can say that you can sweep pick.

  • @Kakhaufan i have been playing full time 15 years and can shred but still can't nail the forward sweepd like that godly talent

  • @joescout I to am a life long shredder i have been trying to nail forward sweeps for years it is damn near imposible i can actually alternate pick forward sweeps faster than sweeping

  • Please tell me that he just played that without trying

  • If that was me I would have screwed up like 50 times, lol.

  • in that time he was already sick if you watch this carefully you can tell he slip up a little ...... his fingers are slower than before.... i miss jason... than you all the music you gave us!

  • Mad skills

  • This guy is an amazing guitarplayer. Not only a tecnition, But also great creator of good musik. To bad he got sick.

  • wow i always thought this guitar was a dc200 but i just found out from emailing carvin that it is a st300.

  • Every time i see Jason play it just makes me go practice for a few hours, he has excellent phrasing and is amazing at improv as well, maybe one day he'll be able to play once again.

  • :( talent.....

  • I wish I could have heard the album version live with him and Dave!

  • he can pick, chickenpick, sweep, play beatiful blues and classical and rockabilly has a wonderfull touche and vibrato and soul and fluidty .. and all above that he's got style !!

i know all the guitarists out there of his time ! varney school and on ! and no one plays like him. for instance richie kotzen got all his basic chop ideas and developed his style from the the things he learnt from him, say sweep picking and all that.

  • Don't forget hybrid picking. :)

  • He's such an incredible player!! Its Jaw Dropping!!

  • If you listen to the original song, you'll be blown away.

  • I have the Jason Becker guitar. The Carvin with solid maple neck-thru body design with maple board and pointed headstock. His had a Kahler though. Carvin doesn't use Kahler anymore for some stupid reason.

  • @Crussman499 where can i find that guitar?? please tell me

  • @Ohem17 You can get it from Carvin. If you want the one with the Kahler. Then you will have to take the floyd off and buy a Kahler and replace it. Floyds are great though.

  • @Ohem17 it's a carvin dc200 they don't make those guitars any more but you can find a similar model. I'ts a custom dc127.

  • my favorite jb song, if god didnt have to give him als like a jerk i cant imagon what he could do today

  • @okok103 good hey...mmm

  • J-bone is da man!

    WHO DAT!

    hahaha

  • sweet crowd, they just clap a couple times. what is wrong with all the crowds i see for awesome performances??!?!?!??!?!??!? i hate people

  • @Johnnyboy414 - lol a "crowd", its a clinic

  • The Best

  • anyone know what model of guitar this is?

  • That`s a Carvin DC200.

Nowadays its long out of production.

I actually ordered a custom-made guitar from carvin, that should be almost exact to this guitar jason had!! you can find the specs he had over the web.

its all based on dc127 (the closest model there is to dc200,of course with the right specs)

  • @dvary89 Thought thats what it was...sucks they dont make em anymore : ( ... hell yeah man thats pretty awesome... just to let you know Jasons website now has a Jason Becker model guitar looks pretty sick

  • osiris8605,

I know about the becker signature guitar.

but thing is,this guitar looks rediculous to me,the concept might be sweet but its not something i`d pay for the amount of money they demand for it.

Tell you a secret,my custom made carvin,

plus shipping and taxes,is way cheaper than just the retail price of the "official" guitar. Also, becker did everything with the blue carvin! He did clinics,shows,recordings...

Where with the other guitar,he just posed with it on `91,just for some pics

  • @dvary89 Yeah they're asking for 2500$ + ....forget that lol and yeah your right Jason did play everything w/ the blue Carvin the things great....also wtf is paradise guitars that shit sucks its unpainted and the harpoon looking neck is kind of wack

  • @osiris8605 although truth be told if I had 2500$ I would get it lol

  • Jason designed the headstock himself on the Paradise.

You cant get a Carvin made like Jason's now because the older head stock is just like Jacksons.

  • @workt71, Jason said in a Guitar world interview that they are gna work on the blue carvin just like this one. So we can finally play this guitar modle

  • @UrbanAssault5150

You can still buy this from Carvin. I've seen people who bought it recently.

  • @shadowknight123

cool!, So would i half to get all the specs and build it or is it come as just a guitar?

also where can i buy it lol

  • You can buy it by the Carvin Custom Shop. That's the only way.

  • Hey if you dont mind me asking what did they tell you as for the turn around time, and the price? Thanks!

  • @theshred...

I assume the question was for me.

Well since I dont live in the states,

there is a dealer of carvin in my country.

I`ve built the guitar using carvin`s builder in their site. my final price that includes shipping and taxes too is about 1800$.

Thats a GREAT deal..I get my own awesome becker replica, top quality made..I`ve ordered it on october 30th.

Dealer said the u.s.a carvin guys take like 6 weeks to build it. shipping is by air.

I should have it within a month or less.

  • ya man. i live in the states and i called carvin for custom shop and they said it would take 5 to 6 weeks sometimes 8. but its better than jackson. jackson custom shop is about $5,000 and can take up to a year for them to make it!

  • I literally get so angry when I know that the world has been deprived of his playing. I actually can't imagine how stunningly good he would be right not if he did not have ALS. He was so young here....Damn.

  • I didn't know Casey Jones played the guitar. lol. Just kidding.

    Jason FTW!!!

  • 0:43 :D that smile on his face could light up anybodys day. Such a love for the music, at one with his guitar.

If he was still physically able now, imagine him on guitar now. I really love his Collections album in 2008. He's a wonderful composer, through anything his spirit is still as bright as beautiful as it always was.

    Becker forever.

  • Someone should so tab the chords for this song it sounds too groovy to be left alone.

  • In one sequence--a string of musical thought--you feel yourself second guessing..."what? where the hell is?...oh...yeah, he brought me here...how, i don't know, but now im here, and im gonna listen again to find out just how"...but then you still can't figure it out---love him, just love the way he fucks me up.

  • What year was this?

  • 1989

  • just seeing him makes me want to get better at guitar Jason's really amazing

  • I dunno, not just guitar, Jason is an inspiration for almost everything in my life.

  • 349 that shit is just unheard of

  • man, if this is a song off of a little aint enough, then he was already getting sick. i wonder if he knew at this point? sucks so bad

  • Yes he was well aware at this point of his illness. He fucks up at some point in this showing and screams at his hand "Not now"

  • :( :(

    that's so fucking sad.

  • Groovy! Couldn't get it out of my head all day long. So it was a great day! :) That's what music is meant to be I'd say.

  • :-) everytime I see Jason play i've just got to put my guitar down.....but I pick it back up again :-)

  • haha i just did that

  • Makes me cringe to think of what else he could have physically composed if he hadn't gotten ALS. I know he still wrote beautiful things, but still it would be alot different if he hadn't. That said, he DID compose awesome stuff even with ALS...which just goes to show he's just that much more talented. That's why we need to cherish every video we can find of him playing.

  • Every time I watch one of Jason's videos I just have to pick up a guitar and play, I don't what it is, but I like it. Jason's so immense!!!

  • this is fantastic! i luv what dave did to the song really compliments it , its the best song alae

  • i could watch this over and over again :D

the beginning is the best. this chord-combinatio nis awesome :)

  • TYPE IN JASON BECKER NOODLING trust me

  • just did ; )

  • just watching him play makes me happy cause hes a big inspriration to me.

  • 1:58

    'God damn!'

  • i think he is the best gutarist ever plz compare anyone to him and ill explaine how he is the chosen one for guitar i dont like to compare guitarist but hes light years away from anyone today and plz dont but yngwie cuz hes a joke

  • If you haven't, listen to Jason Becker's 'Altitudes'.

For some it's hard to see the emotion that shred can have, but it's definitely there if you compare him to malmsteen or dragonforce.

If he wasn't that interested in the feeling music can have, he wouldn't still be pursuing musical progression while he's paralyzed in a wheelchair.

Not trying to spur on hate or anything, I just don't want the feeling Jason puts into his music going unnoticed, this guy's my hero.

  • Don't get me wrong, I love Petrucci too, especially his cover of the Comfortably Numb solo. Becker, Petrucci, Vai and Satriani are all favorites of mine.

    =D

  • dude cool but if u say that jason has no feeling u need to hear the song Rain or allitudes its ok but type in Jason becker noolding i dnt give a shit i cant spell

  • dude if u think that just listen to allitudes or Rain those songs have it

  • you have no bloodly idea what your talking about .. jason becker put's his life force into his guitar . too say he doesnt play with feeling is too say the earth is flat , you sir are a retarted monkey

  • the reason petrucci has an outstandind tone is because he puts his feeling into it. a good tone is from you. i'm only saying what my opinions are, i dont think this guys tone matches petruccis. sorry if i offended you, but we all think differently

  • wrong!

  • actually, sorry if i pissed you off.

  • I like Becker alot what if we compare with Buckethead?

  • Becker blows buckethead away

  • buckethead is also but great but jason is much younger and so the better player

he also have more feeling in his play and buckethead is more pure shredding with nothing special on it

  • Yes but buckethead also has great felling in his songs I know what u r talking about I thought the same as you with buckethead but he has great song like white wash, Angel Monster, I love My Parents, For Mom, etc.. I am not saying Becker is bad, he is really good but I will consider Buckethead-Becker a tie

  • alright^^

    your cool;)

  • No chance...Becker is the hands down winner, dont believe me? Look up the song Angel Eyes

  • Jason is, I think, over forty, that's for one, and Buckethead has some heartbreaking balads like those he dedicated to his Mother and Dad (which I think he lost when he was a little boy). Buckethead has definitively heart of an elephant. Both are great players, one different from the other. Different styles, different playing structures, different thinking - but both great players, indeed.

  • jason cant play he has ALS

he just can move his eyes

  • I know that. I don't think Jason thinks of himself as paralyzed, he still composes which is incredible when we consider his condition. He, although locked in his body, IS a phenomenal musician and human as well. Other great guitar players play his compositions and they find it technically really difficult.

  • Does anyone have a Tab For Drop in the bucket or know where i can find one??? i cant find one anywhere

  • if u EVER find one. i want it too :S

  • thats wat i love about youtube..ne questions to do with rock or guitar u can ask here takes mayb a bit longer but the info is prlly right cause if u like this music i trust u all pce

  • Jason Becker was better than Vai in David Lee Roth's solo career...hell, I enjoyed Becker more than Eddie Van Halen

  • Thats because Eddie Van Halen is the most overrated guitarist ever.

  • mmmm i dont know about overrated, but yes jason becker is the best imo

  • that's bullshit to say Eddie Van Halen is overrated, we are not only talking about how fast someone can play, but style and much more.

  • Just a question, i wanna get a new guitar, are Carvins quality?

  • carvin's are probably some of the best guitars available

  • Expensive but worth it.

  • There's also Suhr Guitars, expensive but one of the best guitar company

  • guthrie plays on those beasts

  • Pretty chill.

  • Awesome stuff

  • Jason had the most amazing control over his instrument....Makes me jealous....Such a shame a great guitar player like Jason Becker had to get ALS, but at least he can still compose so it's not like he entirely lost out. Long live Jason Becker, hope they find a cure for him...

  • Dave's career ended when he lost Jason. No body since can play the Via ear stuff.

"Show time" on Little Ain't.. is cooler than it's predecessor "Hot For..." even though it's the same song shuffle thing

  • this is REAL blues!

  • HOLY SHIT ir u read my comment watch this part 1:52-2:00

  • At 3:04 he tunes his low E hahahahha.. this guy is the man

  • someone needs to plug him into reason 4.0

  • Comment removed

  • Maybe the only guy scarier than Shawn Lane.

  • I have a question

As stupid as it may sound

If we used stem cell research, wouldnt that cure ALS and various other diseases?

  • it would definately help

  • I'd guess

But it meses with peoples morals though

But I think we should use it.
