THIS is a PERFECT example of HOW tasers should be deployed. They needed to get the guy under control. They did. THIS is a PERFECT example of HOW tasers should be deployed. They needed to get the guy under control. They did. Bad news is, the guy fell 15 feet and the cop should have taken into consideration that the guy WOULD fall as he moved along the fence. Tasering this guy, if he hadnt of fallen, would be the best thing FOR HIM and for the general public. Once they can get him under control, they can get him the help he obviously needs.

@lordpoee Keep in mind, Im no expert and this is MY opinion, but NO, of course "lethal force" was NOT needed in THIS situation. Getting the guy down, to help HIM seems like the goal here. It does not appear that the guy represented any threat to the officers. I dont know if he had commited any earlier crimes or not. Either way, if the cop had taken into consideration the guys position, it would have been PERFECT. The guy would be safe, the public would be safe, the police would be safe.

They were trying to stop him from jumping. He was obviously not going to just stand there and let officers approach as clearly shown by him running. The only thing they did "wrong" was not using the taser sooner, before he was that close to the edge. The ignorant comments on here are a bit much. I'm going to put it this way, I'm from KC - driving to Columbia, Mo is a bitch if you get pulled over. I proved to be smarter than a Columbia cop when it came down to simple rights. The dumbass cop didn't know what the 4th, 5th and 6th amendments detailed and thought I was making the rights up when I explained to him with they were. He wanted to search my car but had no probable cause in pulling me over other than me using my cell phone while parked in a McDonalds parking lot.
