I usually think people are too harsh on windows, I have found windows 7 to be fairly good and simple to my needs, it also seems to support everything I go to download unless it's the hardware that can't handle it.

It's not only good, it actually does what it promises. Apple touts OSX as the "world's most advanced OS." So advanced in fact, that it can't keep up with Win7 when it comes to heavy workloads like rendering, and has to rely on meaningless buzzwords like OpenCL and Grand Central Dispatch to appear as if they've got game. To top it all off, it's the most easily exploitable OS in all of history. If this is the future, then surely we're all in trouble!

I hate Macs!!! I always get told I am a poor ass, no-lifer and that only noobs use Windows. Mac is not saved from virus! Mac is horrible when it comes to programming. Linux isn't that stable and has barely any hardware support, I couldn't find gfx drivers for barely anything, it doesn't support DX so you need an expensive OpenGL graphics card or else it won't be very graphically powerfull and, in my experience, it was way less stable than Win 7 and Mac OS, Gnome got corrupted just because I changed the desktop background, lolwut? I'm not saying Linux has no place, it is great for servers (mainly because server distros have no graphics and no glitchy UIs :P)

Stability has never been a strong point of Linux, nor is driver support. I noticed a glaring significant degradation in performance when running a simple game on Linux, thanks to its atrocious video card drivers. The 64-Bit Linux builds are continually plagued by bugs. Granted, this is all open source, so that's to be expected, but even so. Linux is a counterproductive OS. Its strength and future lies in the mobile and supercomputer markets.

Windows is for noobs, Mac is user friendly but expensive, and Linux is the best of both worlds and more. It's totally free, there are many distros far different kinds of people, all software is free, it's open source, different desktop environments (gnome, kde, xfce, lxde, etc), good for anything and everything. Name one thing and Linux can do it.

Eh... It's the opposite for me. Well mostly because I can't be stuffed updating to windows 7 and pay for it as it causes me headaches and is a pain to install. So I'm stuck with windows XP. So for me windows is really slow and Ubuntu (linux) is really fast.

That's the silliest thing I've ever heard. Windows 7, like Vista, doesn't crash unless you've done something to make it happen. I have seen plenty of people delete entire folders out of their Program Files and then blame the OS because nothing works after all. As for Mac and Windows software working on Linux, well, I'm a Linux user and you and I both know that that's an equally silly statement.  SOME programs will run. Certainly not all. Nowhere near, in fact.

When taken care of properly, IMO Windows is a superior OS. I use a Windows XP Dell Pentium 4 Processor. It does not run good simply because i've neglected it a lot. I JUST installed the SP3 like a week ago, and it came out like 3 years ago. I feel confident if i we're to convince my mom to reformat my computer, and redo everything It would be SO much faster. But run virus scans often and update every time it can. It a great OS

i tried window 7 it pretty fast but the boot is slow. The boot takes so long and for older computers it is slow as heck and lags. Also when there more then 1 computers logged into the server it is super slow to get into the server. before we used novell and it was super fast but sometimes the internet would go down randomly and the computer guy took awhile to fix it. So some of the computer guys gave us macbooks not associated with the server and i got one.
