A classmate of mine introduced me to C93 a few months ago. It took me a while to accept this different sound. I keep on trying to understand the songs. They really are mysterious and leave you wondering. I like that, it makes me think a lot.

This album is WONDERFUL. One of the best albums i've ever heard... Hearing it is just an unique experience. I think so many things when I listen to it...

@Agallochness I agree, I love going to shops and feeling the case when I go to purchase it. And Agallochness, in hopes you may know this, I'm trying to figure the chords to this, do you happen to know them?
I do not, sadly. I'd recommend finding a friend with a good ear for this sort of thing, because they don't seem to be available online (that is, they weren't when I checked a few months back).
@Agallochness Well thank you my friend, I'm currently awaiting my disc with it to get in so I'll have more time to figure it out since all my friends with good ears for this are too busy right now. Again, thanks for the answer.
I must say, you have fabulous taste in music, what with your video post and--well, the assumption that your screen name doesn't simply refer to the fragrant wood. :P
I really don't understand all the delayed gratification posts... I bought crooked crosses on a whim 5 years ago and have been into them forever now. But alas, I had to go out of state to get the albums i have
I agree, but I think there are a lot of layers to C93 that make it easier to appreciate over time. Luckily there's a music shop near my dorm that carries both Current and Death In June, but I've never seen Sol Invictus on the shelf ANYWHERE. It's realy depressing.
It took me 7 years of persistence to 'get' C93, but once the penny dropped I was obsessed...still am. This is a beautiful track from an wonderful band.
i think this is my fav album by current 83

what an powerful song,
the universal diremption of myriad doubts
and at last the stars are marching sadly home...

This is a great song, it has very strong imagery. I love the lines:
"should a storm break
and hail all around us
as some savage and blind god"
I really didn't like C93's "Black ships" and haven't heard anything by Tibet since then, I might as well keep up.

@98047301 too it's impossible to find a copy that isn't $80. Google books I guess..
Anyone else notice that the main melody in this song is very similar to the opening lines in Michel Polnareff's song 'Voyages'?

I love the vocal effects on this track.
His voice is so different. I wouldn't say weird at all, just that's different from what I'm used to.
I love the ambiance and the lead guitar track coming together to mold a nice weave of music.
