He told me that 80% of proteins found in humans are not found in chimps; I finally tracked down the paper where I presumed the claim was originating and explained the problem to him. He tried to tell me that all proteins are "design specific" and 100% sequence match is required... I think he was saying any difference would cause the protein cease functioning.

The laughable thing is that his rebuttal is only meaningful if you watch *only* the specific clips he cherrypicks -- if you watch this whole video, it becomes apparent that his argument is completely meaningless, assertions (as you've already said) based only on his own authority.

A planet orbits the Sun, is spherical due to its own gravity, and clears its orbit of other objects. Pluto is a dwarf planet because its orbit is filled with other very similarly sized objects. In fact, some, like Eris, are actually bigger than Pluto.

My question:
Is it worth it to give people like him attention? By responding do we not ackowledge that his position is worth debate?
What is the correct way of dealing with people who will not respond to evidence and logic? It seems like we are damned if we do and damned if we don't. It really raises my blood pressure that people like him exist.

I mean Francis Collins, co-discoverer of the double helix, states that he started believing in God after his parents died and he tried to make sense of it. He went for a hike in the mountains and saw a beautiful waterfall and there and then surrendered to Christ. This, to me, is not very rational and from what he writes his belief is based purely in emotion and confirmation bias.

I do believe that Nephilimfree is not capable if even knowing when he is incorrect on here. I value a scientist who tries to explain genetics so well. As a marine biology student who prefers cell biology/genetics, I cringed at nephy's explainations. I just watched his video response and died a little inside.

He simply must be trolling. He also has rating turned off on his videos, and all comments must be accepted. So he censors good arguments and only allows weak strawmen arguments through that he can dispute. :(

I mean Francis Collins, co-discoverer of the double helix, states that he started believing in God after his parents died and he tried to make sense of it. He went for a hike in the mountains and saw a beautiful waterfall and there and then surrendered to Christ. This, to me, is not very rational and from what he writes his belief is based purely in emotion and confirmation bias.
