Lofty still holds the record for being the youngest trooper to pass SAS selection, at 18 years old. Legend. When you consider most successful recruits are in their mid 20s, and have a few years of experience in their original regiment, it's even more impressive that Lofty passed after only 1 year in the Paras.
Its would be so cool to meet this man ! The grandfather of the survival school ! Thanks for the knowledge LOFTY you have helped more people than you will ever know ! CHEERS !
I boughty the 8" as well as the 13".I spent almost $500 hard earned bucks on them. I absolutely love the blade: however, both knives showed up new in the box with the handles cracked through the screw holes closet to the hilt. I could not get any satisfaction from the manufacturer to replace my handles. I have much respect for Lofty, as I am a Vietnam combat Marine, and I know much of what he preaches. I do think that he should monitor the manufacturer more closely. The blades carry his name.
I love the knife but it's a copy of the Chris Caine survival tool, even the sheath is exactly the same. Lofty is a incredible, I have his book in three formats, large book, pocket book and on my iPhone and I would never be without it. Sorry about my thoughts on the knife though.
@epetrie Chris Caine studied under Wiseman and before Lofty retired he gave him the plans for it. Caine developed it into his own version. its not a big secret but i understand you didnt know. Ive read the book cover to cover about twice and im a bit of a survival nerd :D
I bought one of these and the quality is bad bad bad. Bad fitting handle and the guard rattles really loudly it is that loose. Very uncomfortable handle that cuts in to the skin. I was expecting much more with Mr Wisemans name behind it. quality control is not what it should be in England. Feels like a cheap Chinese made knife.
I've had the earlier version of this tool for some years now and I have to say I havn't it used it very much, I prefer a smaller knife, but when I have taken this tool with me its perfect for shelter building and heavier camp tasks.
this just looks like a very overprice machete. from the pics i can find it looks very shody quality. i like the old one but whats with this crap handle and steel?
pleased to see this tool back on the market iv had one for 16+ years never leave home with out it like the ider of a small virstion is good but i keep to the big boy thank for the beast knife i ever had.

Hi Lofty
The Survival Tool looks great.
Brad and myself were amazed at the origional knife that you showed us at your home in Hereford, this Knife looks AMAZING.
Great Video!
Brad has striped down his pack as advised by you, and I am enjoying wearing your boots up in the hills of Wales.
Very Best Regards
Mike & Brad
