i have lived there for years now and i have never seen this kind of thing. The main problem we have is people coming from out of town making trouble. the town in the day time and 99% of the night time is beautiful and a good time. ive been out countless times over the past 8 years that i have been here and i have never ever been started on or confronted.
in my opinion st albans is one of the safest places in the country and this video paints a dim light on it.

I spent St. Paddy's day 2008 in St. Albans at O'neils pub. Aside from having some drunk girl getting face painting stuff on my cowboy hat...I had a great time. Everyone was incredibly nice to me and each other. I met folks from Turkey/Ireland/London (Im from Texas) and everyone was having a great time with no fighting or rudeness. I did think it was hilarious when the people came unglued while singing "Can't take my eyes off of you" which is a pretty lame song...but damn did they love it!!

I actually remember that being filmed as I worked in O'Neills at the time (you saw it briefly a couple of times). They filmed on a couple of evenings, and it's quite clear that the rest of the weekend was without incident as they only showed events from one night. It wouldn't make good TV though if they showed a placid nightscene.

I spent St. Paddy's day 2008 in St. Albans at O'neils pub. Aside from having some drunk girl getting face painting stuff on my cowboy hat...I had a great time. Everyone was incredibly nice to me and each other. I met folks from Turkey/Ireland/London (Im from Texas) and everyone was having a great time with no fighting or rudeness. I did think it was hilarious when the people came unglued while singing "Can't take my eyes off of you" which is a pretty lame song...but damn did they love it!!

Blimey, how unrepresentative of St Albans on a weekend.
I actually remember that being filmed as I worked in O'Neills at the time (you saw it briefly a couple of times). They filmed on a couple of evenings, and it's quite clear that the rest of the weekend was without incident as they only showed events from one night. It wouldn't make good TV though if they showed a placid nightscene.
