  • Thank you for this video- it has been very helpful. I am also making a doll out of ladoll clay and going insane trying to sand it down finely enough. So it looks like the thing to do is get a resin cast of it and then refine that instead. I won't be doing my own casting, a friend of mine will. Thanks for showing the process!

  • Great video! this really clears up some questions I had about resin casting.

I also wanted to mention that Klean Klay isn't being made anymore, but some online stores are still selling what remains.

  • this video is great. I have a question though about the resin you used. Can you think off the top of your head an existing bjd company that this resin resembles appearance and texture-wise. Also would it be possible to give the cast a more realistic texture by doing something like lightly patting the original with a sponge or something before making the silicone mold?

  • thank-you so much! I am making a bjd, but had NO CLUE how to cast it in resin. ..still a little clueless, how would you do this process with the rest of the body, cut everything into halves after its sculpted? or plug the hollow parts with clay..?You think you could do another video demonstrating the whole process?

  • Great tutorial! Thanks much for posting. I've always had problems with making molds that come apart nicely - I guess it's cuz I keep trying to cast complex molds that can't be done in 2 parts! =)

  • Great video, really informative and helpful in helping me understand the casting process, thanks!!!!
