  • However smart I may actually be, religious folk make me feel like a genius. That religious crap is so very very very obviously false, and I have been aware of this from early childhood. When there are grown-ass adults believing in fairy tales I could see through since I was a child, it makes me wonder just how dumb those adults are. It doesn't seem like it takes a lot of smarts to realize that lots of magical, logically inconsistent, and emotionally charged events didn't actually happen.

  • You could say the same thing about whites vs. blacks. Whites score higher on the SAT's, have less teen pregnancies and make more money than blacks, according to statistics. So I guess WHITE people are also the intellegentsia among Using statistics to try to prove that Atheists are somehow superior to Theists is extremely dangerous.

  • @Autumn6 and it would be the same reason why. education is key in both examples. unfortunately the white population tends to get a better education than that of the blacks which would mean that white people generally earn more have better jobs, are better read and earn more money. likewise with religion those who are educated and taught how to think and not what to think will mostly shun religion. do you see how what you said was inaccurate?

  • @neotropic9

WOW ,PATHETIC Craig goes threw an entire list of christians , you quote mining dickhead

  • That's right, religious turds out there. You've got to respect my authoritah.

  • @Rockioe Were you fucked in the ass? Because you seem to hate sodomy an awfully lot. If the republicans have taught us anything, its that your insecurity will only increase your distain for butt plundering.

  • I find atheist choose to be the most ignorant of those around us, because they refuse to even try to understand the concepts being expressed in the teachiings attributed to Jesus and the prophets. They choose instead to be as ignorant as the believers who take the bible literally.

As Jesus said I teach in parable so that those who "choose" to be evil can excercise and justify the choice of their heart. And those who are righteous can see the true interpretation of those parables.

  • I guess your next video will be "Are the Memphis Grizzlies the best team in the NBA?"

Call "the Grand Potentate of the Logical Fallacy" Dicky Dawkins up--I'm sure he can find stats to back that up at the same place he found his own biased "facts" for this lame-ass video.

  • @Rockioe Let’s see now. Matthew 4:8 states: “Again the devil taketh him up into an exceedingly high mountain, & showeth him all the kingdoms of the earth.”

I know that you’re not a very bright man, but it wouldn’t matter how high a mountain you are on, from it, you couldn’t see the kingdoms on the other side of a spherical earth. You could only hypothetically see all the Kingdoms if the earth was flat. CLEARLY, THIS (INFALLIBLE?) BIBLICAL WRITER THOUGHT THE EARTH WAS INDEED FLAT!!

  • @paulsboroman And the truth is pointedly it was both a spiritual and physical reality that Jesus encountered with the devil.

Paul you are not born-again as Jesus said~~John 3:3. This why you cannot see the kingdom of God and you never will if you remain in and die in your sin.

Paul, there is still hope 4 you. The offer to switch teams is here. Just read the end of Revelations of what you could look forward to if saved. I seriously want that to happen 2 you!!! Amen

  • @Rockioe

So reminiscent of what Jesus told Saul, on the road to Damascus.

Saul switched teams and became Paul.

Whenever 2 or more agree Rockioe... I add my prayer to yours, may Gods will be done in Pauls life. May Jesus reveal himself to Paul in a mighty undeniable way I pray to God in the name of Jesus. Amen.

  • @Rockioe The Episcopalian, Lutheran,Presbyterian ,Unitarian, Universalist,& Quaker faiths perform same-sex marriages & civil unions in many states. Ironically,it is the prejudices from other Christian churches which restrict the religious freedoms of these churches.Ultimately the US Supreme Court will have to rule that these restrictions of religious freedoms are unconstitutional. All such unions must become government sanctioned civil unions & churches can call them what they please.

  • @Rockioe For a Biblical passage that promotes slavery, racism,& GENOCIDE all in one, check out Deuteronomy 20 v 10-17.It's a passage whereby Moses explains God’s message to Israelites on how they are to destroy all cities which don't believe in their god. It’s hardly surprising the Bible is also homophobic and sexist. It's ironic that people who endorse such perverse behavior (homophobia, slavery, racism, submission of women, & even genocide), take it upon themselves to define what sin is.

  • @paulsboroman And think of the disgust of another man to waste his good seed in the waste shoot of another man. How disgusting Paul. You have bought into a lie.

You are the reason Jesus came. To help those who are hurting in this area(enslaved) to be free again.

Paul you took the devil's bait... Now you are now his poster child for the propagation of homosexuality. You are a shame!!!

  • @Rockioe No, actually not at all. You're just an idiot, who spreads his silly bigoted superstiions around. That's all, plain and simple. :-)

  • @Rockioe I’m not going to argue with someone who thinks the earth is FLAT, & who's a proven moron.

I'll just have fun pointing how stupid you are! :-)

  • @Rockioe No sir, you're a shame to modern man.

  • @pcgamer010 Unfortunately, for you. You are in the same bed with homosexual lovers. Sorry, even common sense says a man's private goes with a woman's... Ouch

  • @Rockioe There you are 1950's! I've been trying to deliver you a message who knows how long: "the world doesn't need you anymore, please stop holding humanity back"

  • @Rockioe I can, and have, stuck my "private" in any number of warm moist areas. It really fits anywhere remotely semi-cylindrical. As far as I can tell the only place it belongs is attached to me.

  • @Rockioe Want some more? Of course you do! Hmm, let’s go with this one. Job 38: 4-6 states: “Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Who determined its measurements?..On what were its bases sunk, or who laid its cornerstone?” And Psalm 104:5 states: “God set the earth on its foundation; it never can be moved.” Or Job 9:6 which states “God shakes the earth from its place & makes it’s pillars tremble.

Again, WHAT?!? No wonder you dismiss science!

  • @Rockioe Why stop now! Isaiah 11:12 states “And God shall set up an ensign for the nations, & shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, & gather together the dispersed of Judah from the FOUR CORNERS OF THE EARTH.” Or Revelation 7:1 states, “And after these things I saw four angels standing on the FOUR CORNERS OF THE EARTH.”

So the earth has corners now. Gee, you learn so much from the Bible. NOT!!! How laughable! Rockioe, no wonder you sound so stupid!

  • @Rockioe So, what has the Bible taught us here? Let’s review: The earth is flat, and has four corners. The earth is set upon a foundation of pillars, and cannot be moved. And the sun revolves around the earth.

Now, I ask you my boy, Rockioe, do you believe all this, or do you admit that sometimes the Biblical writers have no idea of what they are talking about, and that they do make major mistakes? Or do you belong to the Flat Earth Society?

  • >>continued>> very intelligent creature who tried to rise above God. How fast did that super power pride of lucifer last with God. The devil was kicked out of heaven as fast as lightning hits the ground~~Like 10:18...

So much for great intelligence outside of Christ. Sorry read the end of Revelations your team loses. It's time to be humble and meet Jesus the giver of your intelligence. Now you can be smart and wise at the same time. WOW the world is waiting for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I could care less of your mumble jumble. It is amazing and quite a laugh. With all your so called intelligence and intellect not one of you has power over the grave(death) and you never will.

Why: The answer is found in God's Word. The God whom you hate and reject. God says, 'It is appointed unto men once to die after this comes the judgment"~~Heb. 9:27...

In the presence of Almighty God all your so-called intelligence falls like lightning to the ground. Sounds like another >>continued>>

  • @Rockioe

See, what you did there was classic question begging, and a bit of ad hominem towards the end.

You look to prove your God in the book that suggests that he may be real on the basis of this God's authority, which also happens to be derived from your holy book.

    Neat little self-proving package, hmm?

No, you must prove why God is actually real before you go asserting how He wants us to live.

  • @YetAnotherInfidel It is interesting that my brother and I were having this very conversation last night. I said Steve, atheists should go out in the middle of the Pacific ocean and see the vastness of the water and than look at the stars @ night and see the multitude of galaxies. Ohhhhhhh it takes great faith 2 believe that all this happened by chance and mere coincidence.

I just heard the other day that the Hebrew language has no words for luck or by chance. Ponder this!

  • @Rockioe

If I were to let your little quip stand, without refutation, then you are still commiting an argument from ignorance fallacy.

If it COULD NOT ever be chance, which by the way, it could easily have been as the vastness of the universe nearly dictates that there be life elsewhere, then who is to say it is a God who made it, much less your God?

It could just as easily be a natural force, aleins, or any number of things.

And that is with me GIVING you your silly argument.

  • @YetAnotherInfidel What else is there to say to one who has it all in his mind so he thinks. And all your knowledge will come to nothing when you have your last heart beat and your last breath. Science will never have a remedy for death. Sorry to burst your bubble of the god of science in whom you pay homage.

Jesus talked about your type. You are no surprise to Him or myself.

  • @Rockioe

I don't believe in the "God of Science", I only believe in things that are verifiably NOT fairytales.

Do you care about the truth? Do you care if what you believe is false? How else would you go about testing it, other than empirically?

Science may very well advance to have a remedy for death, who knows?

Jesus was a fool, a liar; if he existed, he is responcible for millions of death due to the religion he spawned.

Prove your dogmas to me or yourself.

    Can't?

    I didn't think so.

  • @YetAnotherInfidel You are so funny. Ha ha LOL lol You just showed your true intelligence to even ask the question if Jesus existed.

Go ahead and use your god's science testing per giving one victory over death. Great---next!!! How pathetic and poor. Sorry, the bucket list is your life. Ouch!!!

  • @Rockioe

Well, it seems you are either incapable or too stupid (or both) to simply prove to me that God exists. You have failed. Unless you are able to, in the future, prove your silly position, don't respond to me again. Seems all theists have nowdays is ad hominem or arguments from ignorance.

As a matter of fact, it would be better for you to learn to articulate your ideas in a more... understandable... fashion.

  • I believe what dr. Craig was referring to was the philosophical intelligencia of the world, not the scientific intelligencia (who have only a layman's authority on philosophic questions, such as the existence of God)

  • @Runrunred1

Craig's referring to the scientific intelligencia as "laymen" in the world of philosophy is a way to put them down without adressing their points. No, scientists have just as much authority in their field as they do in theological philosophy, IF they have looked into it.

Craig is by far the biggest sham artist that contemporary philosophy has to offer.

  • This video left me with noting but questions

    1. Does level of education attained equal intelligence?

    2. Does lack of belief in a "personal god" or "personal immortality" say anything about whether a person is an atheist or not?

3.When he switched from discussing "scientists" to the more specific "biological scientists", did he purposely drop the word "personal" that he used in the previous statistic?

I don't think this video made the argument it thought it did.

  • Perfect comparison of how the two men carry out explaining what "they think."

One man brings a bag of unarguable facts for your to examine and choose for yourself, the other brings a "notion!"

  • That last statement on the video is laughable.

  • @AlainSta60

"That last statement on the video is laughable"

How so? It makes perfect sense. If you don't show evidence for your claims, I have no reason to believe you.

  • @MomoTheBellyDancer 1. Atheist can't "prove" there is no God. (and yes I know , I can't prove there is) and 2. Evolutionists have no proof of evolution. (Give me evidence that would have a species locked up for having evolved if it was illegal).

  • @AlainSta60

"Atheist can't "prove" there is no God. ""

And they don't need to. The burden of proof is on the theists.

"Evolutionists have no proof of evolution."

Indeed, since science doesn't deal with proof. There is a massive amount of evidence for evolution though from a great variety of disciplines.

"Give me evidence that would have a species locked up for having evolved if it was illegal"

    This sentence doesn't parse.

  • @MomoTheBellyDancer I'll make it easier to understand the question. Give me evidence of a species having evolved from A to B seeing as science has such a massive amount from all these disciplines.

  • @AlainSta60

"I'll make it easier to understand the question."

You mean, you'll rephrase it in intelligible English.

"Give me evidence of a species having evolved from A to B "

We see it in the fossil record and in the genetic relationship between all organisms on earth.

We also see it occur in real-time. Since you like Google so much, just type "observed instances of speciation" there and look at the results. Have fun researching!

  • @MomoTheBellyDancer The fossil record...you have got to do better than that. The fossil record is void of evidence of evolution. Intermediate fossils don't exist. Welcome to your flying spaghetti monster. A to B please.

  • @AlainSta60

"The fossil record...you have got to do better than that"

And we do. I mentioned it right after that. Even if we wouldn't be able to find a single fossil, we could still track the evolutionary relationship between organisms by tracing their genomes.

    "Intermediate fossils don't exist. "

Except that they do. We have many thousands of them in natural museums worldwide. Just look them up!

  • @AlainSta60 HE just told you the fossil record has exactly the evidence that you are looking for. Every fossil IS a transitional form, every single one. If you are too ignorant to go look at evidence that anyone can look at freely with little ease I don't know what's to be said of your character, or your intelligence. I guess cognitive dissonance says it all. Are you one of those people that just refuses to believe all the evidence stacking against you because you don't like being an ape?

  • @MomoTheBellyDancer I'm afraid you've misunderstood the term 'academic'. If I had intended to refer to those who practice "scientific endeavors" I would have used the term 'scientist'. There are certainly Christian Scientists (look up the head of the Human Genome Project) and there are Christian Academics. Dr. William Lane Criag, Dr. Alister McGrath, and Dr. Cornel West are all academics and all three have had their academic work influenced by their faith. So, I'm afraid the error is with you.

  • @Fuglebolle You're assertion is false since Craig is speaking about Christian Academics versus Atheist Academics. Craig actually agrees that a majority of Christians are intellectually unsophisticated. He has a lecture called "In Intellectual Neutral" in which he basically demands that Christians begin to use their brains or else get slandered by the supposedly intelligent.

  • @FrenchPressandaBook

"Craig is speaking about Christian Academics versus Atheist Academics."

There's no such thing as a Christian academic, really. Scientific endeavors are, by definition, free of religious presuppositions.

  • @MomoTheBellyDancer FALSE. Atheism IS a " religious presupposition".

  • @AlainSta60

    "Atheism IS a "religious presupposition"."

Wrong. All atheists do is tell theists that they don't believe them.

  • @MomoTheBellyDancer Google it! Atheism is a religion, whether your of the opinion or not.

  • @AlainSta60

"Google it! Atheism is a religion, whether your of the opinion or not."

Ah, the hold Argumentum ad Googelum.

Atheism is a religion just as much as baldness is a hair color.

  • @MomoTheBellyDancer Analogy FAIL

  • @AlainSta60

    "Analogy FAIL "

The analogy is apt. Atheism is merely a LACK of something, namely the belief in gods. That's all there is to it.

  • "bring evidence to back up claim"?

If you watch the clip, the point that Craig was making was stipulated to by his opponent. NO ONE was arguing that Hitchens' book was philosophically sound. Indeed, the commentator called it something like a fun book appealing to popular audiences.

The atheist on the panel didn't disagree. I think he was nodding his head.

Why should craig elaborate with extra evidence when his opponent is agreeing with him (as any serious philosopher would).

  • Dawkins chart merely shows two things: Most people are religious and most people don't have college degrees. Those are just two bare statistics that don't tell us anything.

At least isolate the educated people from the uneducated, and then poll AMONG THE EDUCATED the percentage of Christians vs. atheists. At least that is somewhat honest. But still, if they are educated in an unrelated field then what difference does it make.

  • Craig's point was that most of the popular atheists are merely LAYMEN in the area of philosophy. Their arguments that they make in their books are LOGICALLY INVALID--grossly.

A cancer researcher trying to refute cosmological arguments would be no better than an English professor, or an art professor. They are LAY.

Craig points out that the great thinkers IN THE FIELDS that deal with the question, are dominated, today, by Theists.

  • @RomansGalatians Anyone can learn about these subjects though whether they be biology or philosophy. To say you have to have some sort of degree in order to have an opinion is wrong, most people may not have a degree but that doesn't mean their opinions don't matter it just means their expertise lies elsewhere but they may not be an authority.

The problem with having a field dominated by theists in philosophy is that it lacks diverse thinking on the very subject which needs different ideas.

  • @Requiemxtoxinnocence "doesn't mean their opinions don't matter"?

Gosh, I'm not arguing against their right to form opinions. What a baseless response; it's as if anyone who criticizes a liberal's logic is "taking away their First Amendment Right."

Diversity? Pleaase. Logic isn't up for a vote.

The point is that the atheists, like Hitchens in his book, make logical fallacy after logical fallacy. Sure, credentials alone don't matter, but LOGIC does!

  • @RomansGalatians The point in hitchens book was to show how religion is immoral, and the fact is that it does promote quite a lot of immoral behavior it's even commanded by supposed gods. How often do you see non believers taking away gay rights? bombing abortion clinics? Or promoting anti-science propaganda? His book merely presents the dangers that religious thought may bring.

True logic isn't up for a vote, but opinions on gods and moral philosophies people choose are.

  • @Requiemxtoxinnocence So are you some faggot or something?

  • @RomansGalatians Uh no, I just think everyone deserves equal rights is that so hard to understand? Blacks and women had to fight for their cause, it's no different you still have some extremist religious people trying to enforce their faith on others while others are treated as second class citizens even though gays don't choose to be born gay.

  • @RomansGalatians

"Craig's point was that most of the popular atheists are merely LAYMEN in the area of philosophy."

So they are laymen in a field that lost its usefulness some two centuries ago. Craig is a layman when it comes to science, without which our current level of welfare would be impossible. Whenever Craig tries to use scientific arguments, he fails. Heck, even even fails when using PHILOSOPHICAL arguments. What a clown.

  • i can also make Power point presentations with atheists believing the Loch ness monster.

  • I just finished reading Whitley Strieber's book "2012: The War For Souls" and he makes a good case that science is completely MISSING the importance of the soul. It is not being studied. It is being denied. I think Whitley is correct in bringing this to our attention. Science CAN study the soul.

  • and erm... what is the evidence to prove atheism is true?

  • @fatrob1711 the bible.

  • I do not trust the actions, morals, or ethics of any theist. Their intent and goals are all done with the thought of a reward at the end. Decisions are made from fear or under the belief they are being "watched". That's not pure. I do not need a god to not murder and rape. Even then, some gods want you to fly planes into buildings, or Leviticus 24:16 anyone who blasphemes the name of the LORD must be put to death. That shit's weird. It's 2011 wake the fuck up.

  • They should have done these statistics in the middle east. 95% scientist in the middle east would believe in a personal God.

But in the US, only 1/3 of scientist are atheist. 90% of medical doctors believe in a personal God. Getting a PhD in the sciences rarely changes their religious views. If they were religious growing up, then they remain religious through out their science career. The same is true for atheist. Therefore, Christians rarely learn science and then change their religion.

  • I have more credentials than you.

    there fore,

if I tell you the sky is purple you'd better believe me or you're ignorant.

  • @babertron Can you present any peer-reviewed evidence that the sky is purple?

Following someone's word based solely on their credentials is the fallacy known as "argumentum ad verecundiam", or "appeal to authority" if you prefer. Most skeptics demand evidence for claims, not matter how benign.

If a pastor or a priest tells you from his pulpit that the sky is purple, you'd better believe him or you're going to hell. How is it when the roles are reversed?

  • @Asganoth I understand the fallacy... hence my last comment...

I'd ask the priest/ pastor "what evidence there is to suggest that I'll be going to hell If I don't believe the sky is purple?"

  • @babertron So if we agree... why did your first post sound like you were dismissing science on the grounds of argumentum ad verecundiam? Maybe I misread the sarcasm?

  • @Asganoth I was being seriously sarcastic lol.

the problem with the video is that Craig was trying to show that you don't have to be and atheist to be intelligent and HE DID BRING EVIDENCE. He ran through a list of names right after neotropic9 cut the video.

youtube videos like this are taken so far out of context it's no wonder why so many youtube goers are confused.

  • I don't see what this question is getting at. I'm a well-educated Christian, and I can still enjoy everything that an atheist can, as well as all that my religion offers me. In addition to that, I also have a chance of going to Heaven when I die. Why am I such an idiot?

  • @user6773 Nobody says that you're an idiot. Although, I do detect a hint of Pascal's Wager in your post.

  • @Asganoth There are a lot of atheists who seem to think that way though. Dawkins and Hitchens are always calling Christians "ignoramuses" and being generally arrogant and disrespectful. The question clearly comes from this general idea that's out there about atheists being more scientific and reasonable, which is complete rubbish. Dawkins' stats may be accurate and reliable, but they've been totally misinterpreted.

  • @user6773 I wouldn't say that atheists are more reasonable than theists, but they are generally more scientifically-inclined. I think it all begins with how fundamentally you rely on the bible for your understanding of nature and the universe. If you believe in a global flood, you are dismissing scientific evidence that points to the contrary. As for Dawkins' stats, how would you interpret them?

  • @Asganoth I'm unsure of the context of his research, but Dawkins' main goal is to discourage religious belief. He's really not saying anything by showing a correlation between intelligence and atheism, unless he's simply trying to say "smart people are atheists, dumb people are religious". That may be true, but it doesn't actually mean anything. It just seems to be a way of telling morons to listen to the intelligentsia, simply because they're smart. It's a deceitful and unscientific approach.

  • @user6773 I read Dawkins' 'The God Delusion' and I don't remember it mentioning the statistics showed in the video. I am not very familiar with his works, I prefer Sam Harris by a long shot, but I'm certain that if the clip was shown in its entirety, there would be a fitting context for the stats.

I am fairly apathetic when it comes to religion. I don't believe, and I don't care if anyone does. That's the only way to really get along these days.

  • an atheist will admit he's wrong when shown empiric evidence confirmed via tests and experiments. creationists cannot bring up a smidgen of evidence to support their arguments.

  • Fake and unreliable polls made to order. Atheists, despite their well honed abilities at mimicry, selective perception and pretentious British accents, are some of the least rational people on earth.

  • @WOLFMANKAYLDOTNET What's a pretentious accent? Are you referring to Dawkins and claiming that his accent is fake? (I'm pretty sure he's not the only atheist, or that all atheists have certain types of English accents - there's no such thing as a single "British" accent, btw). What "mimicry" are you referring to? And by "selective perception", do you mean selection and confirmation bias? If so, are theists not prone to that? Lastly, how do you know these polls are "fake" and "unreliable"?

  • either man is "god" or God is God...but there will always be a god to serve...

Separation of church and state really means separation of God's Laws from man's laws....one will either serve God's laws or mans laws, but one is still going to be liable for upholding God's laws....man has 60,000,000 statutes he DEMANDS that you follow and even if one does follow, they can still be killed at a moments notice..don't think so? Yeah right, "Obama" has publicly endorsed assassination

  • @grapetwistersoda And yet will worship government...either one will worship maitreya in the future or will be put to death....atheism will not last becuase there are only two choices serve God or serve man, and if one does NOT serve God, then one WILL be subject to the rule of man, even if that man gives out death and rewards will eternal suffering...

Watch Chris Pinto Documentaries, A Lamp in the Dark, Secret Beginnings of America, Hidden Faith of the Founders.also gods of the new age

  • LOL - there's lots of videos knocking Dawkins, why shouldn't there be videos for a laugh that knock Craig. Well I think Atheist have a better sense of humour that's for sure. A lot of people who are raised by religious parents who become atheists are often not counted, as they tick their previous religion. Which covers just about everyone I know growing up, If God exists why do we need a religion, Religion is just a manmade creation to group people for war, create divisions and enslave people,

  • @theapeman10 If God exists a true religion absolutely has to exist. Does it make sense that God would create us, guide our instincts to always want an organized path and way of life and than not give us that organization? That makes no sense. To assert that all religion is "a man made creation to group people for war, create divisions and enslave people" is quite ignorant on your part because in Islam, God says dont be racist, free slaves, and the only division is between your ideology.

  • @FATAL12SKILLZ - God didn't create us - our parents did and they raised us. God doesn't stop us from getting knocked down, nor does God cause us to get knocked down. If god doesn't control events, then god didn't arrange for our parents to meet and have us. There's hundreds of religions and if you believe in religion thats fine, but I'am an atheist. Yes religion does cause division and that's it's sole purpose, it's an identify. Your only 23, when your 30,40,50 you will view life differently.

  • @theapeman10 Did your parents create you in a test tube? Did they create their own sexual organs? I'm 19 and seeing the stupidity and irrationality of you 30,40, and 50 year olds is what gave me this view. You 30,40, and 50 year olds are the ones who are running all the wars. Your parents may have raised you but your parents are not the ones who taught you how to walk. You don't think before walking., you don't think and form your lips and tongue in a certain form before saying a letter.

  • @FATAL12SKILLZ - ok your only 19 then, your proved my point. Your full of bullshit, I wasn't born in a test tube and yes of course my parents grew their own sexual organs . You sound like a nutcase to be honest. Hey bud, I'm atheist and tough if you don't like that fact.Your a teenager you think you know everything. One minute you were sucking milk from a bottle and the next your an expert on religion. Get a life, get a girlfriend, start living life instead of stalking atheists on youtube.

  • @theapeman10 did they create their own sexual organs with their own hands? I have a wife why would i need a girlfriend? Your the one insulting us and have the most baseless and untrue comments about religion and you suspect us to be quiet? You calling me a nutcase is not any different you are a testimony to the truth of the Quran. No intellectual discourse with the like of people like all insults.

  • @FATAL12SKILLZ need to go to sleep.

  • @FATAL12SKILLZ - are you on drugs, your trolling people's replies telling them to be quiet, you can say what you like. But why are you spamming my one comment, I think people need to explain the birds and bees to you. woman and men have sexual organs and they grow by themselves. Did you not have sexual education at school. You attack me as atheist, Who mentioned the Quran or Islam, muslims, you did. Your using religion to create an argument and it's plain to see your a religious fruitcake.

  • @theapeman10 Did i call you crazy as an atheist? The only fruitcake here is you, and not because your an atheist but there is clear psychological baggage that you are throwing upon people you don't know. I'm bringing the point about sexual organ because you said our parents created us which is silly. They didn't create their own sexual organs they developed by themselves. Not because of choice. I was pointing at your flawed statement. Goodbye.

  • @FATAL12SKILLZ - So your 19 and you reckon your married, yeah right. Your making comments to me not because I'm an atheist, but your saying since I said our parents create and raise us you have a problem with that statement. Here's what happens your daddy sperm finds it way into your mum and after it chats up your mommy's egg and fertilizes it . it grows in your mommy's tummy for 9 months. you have your 23 in your profile, but then you say 19, your clearly a immature attention seeking twat.

  • @theapeman10 Thats not creation.

  • @theapeman10 but even with that division it is not based on intolerance (other than intolerance to the evil you practice such as immoral acts and tyranny, be it Muslim or non Muslim in reality)

  • I met some pretty fucking dumb athiests in my life, go look at those bum natives.

  • let me summarize dawkins...

the more youre indoctrinated w/ evolution,

the less likely u are to believe in God

  • ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh

  • @BibleBeliever994 you and youre hogwash bible suck.

  • Even if smarter people tend toward atheism, that doesn't prove that theism is bad or false. This is a bad, silly analogy (and I know this haha), but I bet you similar studies would show that the more educated you are, the less muscle mass you have. That doesn't make muscle a bad thing.

My personal opinion is that people's intelligence and egos start to replace dependence and humility, which are centerpoints of religions such as Christianity.

  • I do not think atheist are all that clever, it is just that creationist are so stupid!

  • Again, @neotropic9 is not being fair with this 2.. why don't you put the movie where mr.dawkins declines to debate will craig because his to busy

  • The terminology confusion drives me nuts. Agnosticism is not "something between theism and atheism".

Anyway, is that so hard to see? Even Marx knew that religion and (forced) ignorance were connected, and that stuff is 150 years old now. And really, science (scire - to know) and religion (belief on faith) don't go together properly. Gullibility cannot be part of a scientist's character and scepticism makes an unbeliever. And what is the intelligentsia but a bunch of high-profile sceptics?

  • weren't there also several studies that found an almost (80 %) perfect link between importance of religion in ones life and intelligence?

  • Hah. He did present quite a bit of evidence in that video. You conveniently cut all of it. Nice job, tool.

  • @Damonferal What evidence does he present? From what I saw of the original clip, he named 5-6 scientists who were christians, and used that as justification for his claim.

  • @Fuglebolle 5-6 scientists of thousands of scientists... mmm.

  • This is a weird mix of Argument from Authority and Appeal to the People.

  • The more educated a person becomes the more egotistical and arrogant he becomes. The ego wants to create and all that is left to create is nonexistence. All that exists is existence, that is, created by God. All that the ego can create is nonexistence, i.e., what is not. The go sees what people are not, what people do NOT have. The ego creates what isn't including no God.

So yes the more educated tend to perceive NO God. Darkness does not exist and yet people of darkness perceive it.

  • That is why he said "I think"

If someone starts a sentence with those words, 99% of the time they speak of something they know little to nothing about.

  • yes darwin, mozart, beethoven, galileo, newton, were all religious. infact darwin even poked fun at atheists. not that it was polite, but he did.

its a great shame so many atheists misinterpret the conclusions of darwins work...

  • also, statistically more people in modern society are 'actively pressured' into disbelief by social anti-religious views: religion is uncool, religion is evil etc etc...conjectures these athiest 'intelligentsia' present with evidence yet to come to fruition.

  • infact you will struggle to find atheists that are productive members of advancing society...they do admittedly still get through the education system and work jobs.

  • almost all of the greatest scientific minds were religious people.

holding a degree in 'media' makes you neither intelligent nor educated or even cultured.

of course, an atheist would get confused from the get go on this one hence this video...

  • Craig makes his money on the credulous. Dawkins makes his money on evidence backed research.

Craig assumes that the Bible contains the truth. Dawkins assumes the natural world contains the truth.

Craig trusts his gut. Dawkins trusts the data.

    Hmmmm.

  • @drfoxcourt You can't even say that Craig trusts his gut... He is trusting someone else's gut.

In the famous words of Ben Kenobi. "Who's the more foolish? The fool, or the fool that follows him?"

Simply put Craig is a gutless, ignorant, troglodyte.

  • @MafferDragonhandEyed While I don't value WLCraig's words any that you appear to, I won't call him a gutless ignorant troglodyte. I give him credit for more than blind following of basic Christian "philosophy". He has built up his apologetics argument, as ridiculous as it proves to be given in-depth study Craig has also carefully built his lecture circuit of credulity, and not mindlessly lucked into it. A good magician can be applauded even when you know it's a trick.

  • @drfoxcourt You have your opinion and I have mine. And yeah, If you ask a magician enough times he will eventually admit that it was indeed a trick where as a Christian never will...

  • Straw man and an Appeal to authority in 90 seconds, very impressive.

  • Straw dog argument. How do we know from the clip that Craig didn't provide evidence? The clip of him was clearly edited.

The fact is Craig is a superb intellect. Chris Hitchens debated him and he even said as much. Dawkins refuses to debate Craig because he is not a Bishop or other high religious office. I think Dawkins is afraid of looking like a fool in debate with Craig.

  • @caveatemp This is a good point. But I've watched the entire clip from the Michael Coren Show. Craig does little more than mention a movement amongst philosphers leaning towards theism. He also just calls Hitchens, Dawkins and Harris philosophical lay-men. Unlike Dawkins, he provides no citations or studies to indicate otherwise.

  • @Chimpdaddy The fact is that Hitchens and Dawkins are not philosophers. Hitchens is a political writer and Dawkins is a biologist. The reviews of their anti-God books by secular writers was not favorable. But it's Hawking who's put his foot in it with his latest book. He claims philosophy is dead. The ground of philosophy is metaphysics and religion. These men are trying to pull the rug out from under them and it can't work philosophically.

  • @caveatemp I would agree, Hitchens and Dawkins are not philosophers. But Dawkins puts a strong case that the question of "Does God exist?" is not bound just to philosophy, but is a question science can explore.

Anyway, I was responding to your comment that the excerpt was taken out of context (a valid claim), but Craig still failed to provide studies unlike Dawkins. Meta-analysis shows there is an inverse relationship between level of education and religiousity.

  • @Chimpdaddy I suggest you watch the debate between Craig and Hitchens and tell me who you think came out ahead. If Dawkins is confident in his "meta-analysis" why then doesn't he also debate Craig? Craig may be a nerd but he's far better at philosophy than Dawkins. Daniel Dennet and Hitchens both spoke highly of him.

This idea of the "brights" is so paternalistic and smacks of religious intolerance. It's also the "appeal to authority" of the modern educational system.

  • @missdoogledog I am not denying that there are intelligent religious people. Craig is a good example. But according to meta-analysis there is a strong inverse relationship between level of education and how religious a person is. This is all I am saying. I definitely agree that atheists shouldn't go around labeling themselves as bright. But it is an interesting study.

Philosophy and science have their places. But neither can claim exclusive discussion on the existence of God.

  • Craig is fatuous in the most ugly way. Only few difference between him an Iran-Chamenei

  • Oh, hooray. Let's respond to a perceived ad hominem fallacy that we've misinterpreted with a definite genuine ad hominem fallacy. That'll be fun

  • Funnily, Dawkins stats say NOTHING about the atheistic community as such, only about a very specific part of it, but probably that's already too difficult to comprehend for the average atheist... which happens to be a 40 something year old chinese factory worker ... #FAIL

  • @Aethgeir

Nothing but bold claims, each of them unproven.

It's like looking at the global political and financial elite corps, realising that most of them are white males and then you claiming to be superior because you're too a white male.

Of course that's an unforgivably ridiculous way to think, but that's the way that 9 out of 10 self proclaimed atheists here on youtube roll. Which is nothing else but the real life 1st hand proof that atheists are as dumb as anyone else on this planet.

  • @sooperfukker Hahaha, creationists love to throw that word 'proof' around like you had even the first clue what it means.

As if you have any more proof of your own claims about atheists and atheism. At least my 'bold claims' are backed up with some statistics; maybe you should watch the video again.

But your contempt for the intellectuals, who gave you the world you live in, belies your own threatened ego, your fear that you are maybe not so smart after all.

  • @Aethgeir

Don't start comments with "Hahaha" .. it makes you look like a madman, a stupid one. And I don't know what you got with your.. creationists.. how is that related to anything or anyone which was said in the video or the comments ?

All you give is all a huge blahblah, you're talking so much unrelated junk, one could think you were a muslim scholar. #FAIL

  • Oh the irony, WLC said "I think" ha ha ha ha

  • I think atheists tend to be more intelligent than those that are delusional/religious/superstitious. But I think it's more to the point to state that atheists are more enlightened than religious people. Myself, I think exceedingly religious people are, by-and-large, rather dim witted or dullards.

  • What one considers being "intelligent" is open for opinion. A person that is considered "intelligent", can also be a fool at the same time. For example, lets take a certain person that society may look up to as "intelligent". The same person drinks and smokes excessively knowing that science has proven that it causes fatal illness. This person can be considered "intelligent" or a "fool". Intelligence and wisdom are completely 2 differant things

  • anyone that believes an imaginary man in the sky controls everything is a cretan and should be beaten with a stick!
