im a stop motion animator and i didnt know if i should of made a tree or human. i then had an idea that i should make a tree that has roots for legs that will travel through the woods. i will have fun making that. thanks
hey dude, me and my friends were wondering if oyu coulp make a tutorial for this kind of stuff with sci fi minis. i could really use help sculpting halo minis for a diorama. if you could do a tutorial for making details that would be nice. thanks.
@epicfantasy, oh, do you ever sculpt epic sized tanks, thats like 1/200ths size i think. because thats what im sculpting at the moment and could use help with preportions.
@MrDreamblade I ahve never done this kind of thing. It usually helps to print out a picture or a few pictures then make actual measurements on the paper. Helps to get a good sense of the scale and proportions. You can even hold the miniature up near the paper as you sculpt.
where do you get those armature wires from? and can you use them for stop motion animation too? and whats the name of that clipping thing you use to cut the armature?
@TanukiTengu It's electrical wire. I got it at radio shack. Yes, these work excellent for stop motion and they are called side cutters and diagonal pliers.
@insertafunnyjokehere No, they are too flexible. They are good for stop motion animation but not for solid sculptures. Try scrounging up some electrical wire.
very amazing video saga ha. I started making a world war 2 miniature game that I play with my friends. Every few weeks I come out with new miniatures. It's all thanks to you. thanks.
Thanks and cool! Any time you want to send me pics of the miniatures you make I would be glad to post them on my website! I have a whole section on miniatures, how to make them, sculpt them and paint them!
I get it from a variety of places. You can get it from Radio Shack, or a home improvement store like home depot, or some kind of hobby store like michaels crafts or AC Moore.
Great video. You have helped me so much. I cannt wait to see the next video and get started. I would like to learn more about sculpting faces and chaos armor. Thanks Tim
how do you make weapons such as clubs, spears and swords?
Gobspout 1 week ago
@Gobspout Great question. I should do a tutorial. I would use a wire as the armature, maybe paper clip would work. Then sculpt some clay onto it.

Are these paper clips made from metal or plastic?
Since I tried to make an armature with metal paper clips
yet I couldn't connect the two pieces with pliers, they'd just twist
and fall.
Thx
remotful 6 months ago
@remotful Paper clips can be tricky. I use wire mostly. Electrical wire. You take off the plastic coating.
