if diablo was on a console it would obviously not be on the same server that pcs are on.... i think it could really work out with the sort of hack n slash gameplay that diablo is. i really don't know why pc users are complaining it wouldn't affect your games at all.
Xbox's commercialisation of game franchises has been the death of many series already. ( Supreme Commander, Final Fantasy, CoD They reduce gaming experience and focus completely on improving graphics and keeping the replay value of games low and making most games look like poor hollywood flicks storywise. While this makes them billions of dollars ( I respect that) it takes out the soul of quality gaming. Only Blizzard and Nintendo havn't succumbed to their greedy paws yet.
About Diablo 3, it's be cool if it came out on console but I don't want my graphics settings and frame rate to be capped or lowered because of compatibility issues with the xbox360. It better run on directx 11, and we know xbox360 only supports up to 9.0c because of the built in shader. And if I hear anymore crap about only being able to lan online then I'm gonna pirate it as a boycott. Just like I did with starcraft 2.
Wow, let's ruin everything for the select few console gamers who want to play d3 and mess up the charming simplicity behind a pc based loot-whore game. If they do release a console version of d3, I don't want them to allow it to change how they plan on producing the pc version. I don't want D3 to be on a console if it means us PC gamers having to share servers with the ones playing it on a console. That would be really terrible since most console gamers have no keyboard and no body wants voice chat in a diablo game. So yeah thankfully Blizzard has no plans for D3 to be on a console otherwise I'd be extremely worried.

No they're not really 2 completely separate ways of gaming, consoles are a stupid way of monetizing intellectual property, there is no reason all of your processing power and computer hardware shouldn't be all in one place, and that place should be your sweet gaming computer.
It's not like there is anything you can do on a console that you can't do on a computer, consoles are just a way of marketing video games to maximize profit, they are more legal constructs than technological ones

On consoles? I don't see why that would be a bad idea... The new Demon Hunter class would work well with a controller, and I really don't see much of a downside with the other classes.
Diablo 1 was on the PlayStation, and the only complaints I had with it was that the resolution wasn't as nice, and it dropped the frame rate when there was too much stuff happening, but never to an unplayable degree. Otherwise it was just as good as on PC. The gameplay actually lends well to a console anyway.
Diablo III would probably just work fine for consoles as long as the servers are seperate for PC,xbox,ps3 users (or whatever consoles would be used) since the people not playing on the PC.

Alot of people believe that Diablo would be harmed by the loss of a Keyboard and Mouse and as such would do no justice to the game series.
1) All consoles (except the Wii) allow for keyboards and mice to be used
2) Reworking the control system can easily be done and has been in the past. The most successful use of this the selection wheel which was seen in counter strike and also in the more recent Halo Wars. (See reply)
3) The right development team can make anything work. Blizzard has the staff, and all they would need is someone from a more experienced company to come over as a consultant as their experience with consoles is limited.
4) PC Gaming isn't dead. (to my knowledge, don't flame me if this is wrong) Even though it is believed that more gamers prefer consoles PC gaming is still above consoles on the hierarchy (in the nerd realm) due to them constantly upgrading
5) Moving to console just means more money for blizzard. We all know they love their money.
6) Despite the controversy with Valve's constant distaste for consoles they eventually moved over, whats to stop blizzard? Valve looked at consoles as a "train-wreck", then Gabe Newell ended up speaking during a conference for consoles in favor of them.
7) Any console gamer can agree with this. Who doesn't want to smash some 8 year old in Diablo after all the screaming and teabags and such!

Really bad idea. Consoles always dumb down and simplify menus and controlls. The reason why PC gaming is "dying" is because people keep making crappy cross platform games/ports. They don't give a shit about making a good game these days, just creating the largest scope for sales...
diablo 3 should be released on the console too and there should be crossplatform gaming between both consoles and the pc, it might give pc players an unfair advantage in pvp though

as someone said before, a ported version from PC to console maybe, but dont design the game around a controller based system, its essentially a top down RPG for which we need endless buttons and a mouse.
Controllers limit the game's potential scope by forcing a characters functionality into the few buttons available to it.. there are games im sure for which consoles are the logical choice, but not diablo.
I love my xbox, but certain games just don't travel well to consoles. RTS and other top down view games just don't control as well on consoles, where as personally shooters and most first person games feel right at home on consoles. Although we cant judge yet because in 2053 when Diablo III comes out, the next system might change my mind.
I agree with Xerxes4242, I wouldn't play on any other console but a computer. Blizzard is computer entertainment, It wouldn't be right to play on anything else. Also, I am aware that Diablo 1 was released on playstation and was fairly popular this doesn't change my view (or was that Diablo 2?).
Personally. i loved Diablo 1 for PSX, it was by far the most fun when you had a bro over and where busting in 2 player. since it was basically Baulders gate. but Diablo.

5) Moving to console just means more money for blizzard. We all know they love their money.
6) Despite the controversy with Valve's constant distaste for consoles they eventually moved over, whats to stop blizzard? Valve looked at consoles as a "train-wreck", then Gabe Newell ended up speaking during a conference for consoles in favor of them.
7) Any console gamer can agree with this. Who doesn't want to smash some 8 year old in Diablo after all the screaming and teabags and such!

Really bad idea. Consoles always dumb down and simplify menus and controlls. The reason why PC gaming is "dying" is because people keep making crappy cross platform games/ports. They don't give a shit about making a good game these days, just creating the largest scope for sales...

as someone said before, a ported version from PC to console maybe, but dont design the game around a controller based system, its essentially a top down RPG for which we need endless buttons and a mouse.
Controllers limit the game's potential scope by forcing a characters functionality into the few buttons available to it.. there are games im sure for which consoles are the logical choice, but not diablo.

I love my xbox, but certain games just don't travel well to consoles. RTS and other top down view games just don't control as well on consoles, where as personally shooters and most first person games feel right at home on consoles. Although we cant judge yet because in 2053 when Diablo III comes out, the next system might change my mind.

I agree with Xerxes4242, I wouldn't play on any other console but a computer. Blizzard is computer entertainment, It wouldn't be right to play on anything else. Also, I am aware that Diablo 1 was released on playstation and was fairly popular this doesn't change my view (or was that Diablo 2?).
