Heavy, I've been a Squarepusher fan since I was 15 and I was stunned when I first watched this as I thought only sequencing was this accurate, you the man.
@LinearReshape i've got one more coming soon (and that'll be the end of my squarepusher excursions) and it is, lazily enough, the very next tune on 'feed me' - 'tundra'.
I'm gonna go clean the protein stains out of my pants and ponder how one can get their brain to do something like this. Squarepusher = WIN. Human playing Squarepusher song on real drums = EPIC win.
Dude, at 4:22, your a God! I mean, Im dont know about drums and stuff but the speed you do that is amazing! Believe me, this is my favorite song and I listen this maybe 5 times a days for many years... You truly do good!! Perfect transition:)
its comforting when i see vids like this, i have a feeling that musically it will all turn out juuuuust fine for future generations, maybe one day we will see a live Squarepusher tribute band, i'd pay good money for that
i'm actually putting together a book of my best 20 or so. one just came out in last month's modern drummer - the one with tre cool on the cover. i did a roy haynes brushes thing.
i don't have the transcription posted anywhere. i have it written out on finale though (i've submitted it to a couple of the drum mags). it's in traditional notation, not tabs.
I posted a comment consisting of a billion "<3's" and it didn't appear. Could I download this finale file you speak of and try these licks myself? If you check my vids you can see I am very into this and thus look up to you after this awesome video you've recorded...
I can hear the hard work and it was well worth it. After the shedding it for the long haul do you find that any of those patterns have trickled into your playing? (i.e. weird ass sticking)
That was most certainly unbelievable!!!-Last night was killin' too man hope to jam again in the near future.
yeah, that was the plan all along. to kind of soak in some of the vocabulary and see if it pops out in other situations. i'd say, yeah, it's helped a lot.
Stunning!
