I have also talked directly with many Tibetans and Chinese people about this issue. Chinese people can NOT deny China killed, tortured & imprisoned thousands of Tibetans, and that Tibetans are now a minority in their own land. Please show them some compassion, respect & humanity.

I'll leave doing more research on the number of killings of Tibetans up to you. That way you can see the killings with your own eyes. That includes talking to Tibetans whose families were killed, tortured & imprisoned. Also, I am quite sure the ICJ (an organization made of 60 judges & lawyers throught the world) made their analysis of "Genocide" on facts. That's a very serious official term of international law. If you don't agree with the ICJ's facts, you'll have to take it up with them.

True, China's human right record is unimpressive, and it may be natural to be inclined to think that they are, indeed, hiding something wicked. However, one could also argue that the government, under much pressure from the world, is mostly likely NOT going to violate human rights so close to Olympics. The eviction of foreign media may be an effort to protect the Chinese governments image as the western media is not known to be very china friendly.

I have been to Tibet twice and the people there enjoy China administration. Their benefits put our welfare system to shame. They receive all the preferential treatment over the Han. I wish the western media would get the facts straight.

France invaded the native countries, Australia claimed the land is empty and settled in desregarding the aboringinals and America simple killed many natives. So much so the people gave up hope of ever gaining their own land back from the governments, let along reclaim a country. China liberated a region which was under a terrible spell of relgious god-kings. A region belonging to China being so remote, no one had done anything.

I don't think Abraham Lincoln would support the Chinese government's policies either. If the Tibetans are all so "happy" since the PLA "freed" them, then why are they protesting all over the world including in Lhasa to "FREE Tibet"? The Tibetans never asked the PLA to come and "save them from the EVIL Dalai Lama" - especially not by killing & torturing thousands of their family members & citizens. For some reason, the Tibetan's see a bit of hypocracy in that.

I agree the burning and ethnic killing shouldn't happen but the Chinese should not forget how it felt to be under the boot of Imperial Japan. I know they haven't forgotten because as recently as last year the were burning Japanese stores in Chinese cities. But I agree it's not right.

But please note that Tibet used to belong or belongs to Yuan Dynasty (1279-1368), Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), Republic of China (1912-1949), and then PRC (since 1950); the relationships are more complicated that your example of Japan. I believe that the truth is somewhere between the two sides of the media (CNN or CCTV), and there is someone provoking between Tibetan and Han Chinese.

Actually, if someone asked me to sit down to peacefully resolve something (on many occasions), I would do it. However, that's just me; I'm Canadian. I prefer doing everything I can to reach peaceful & mutually beneficial resolutions. I also admit when I or my country has done something wrong - even if I didn't do it personally (like kill the Natives). I prefer compassion, understanding & kindness to fighting & violence. A number of Nobel Peace Prize winners showed me that's a sign of strength.

It would be better to look at how Canada & the US resolved their land claim issues after they realized what they were doing was wrong. Today, the French have their own province & French is Canada's official second language. The Natives also have claim to some of the most beautiful land in North America. Also, don't forget, North America is huge. The Natives didn't populate & claim all the land in the continent. Some of it was free to settle & they also reached many peaceful agreements.

I've done a lot of research on both sides of this issue far beyond the media's reports or China's propoganda. Did you read the ICJ reports I quoted?? I have also talked directly with many Tibetans and Chinese people about this issue. Chinese people can NOT deny China killed, tortured & imprisoned thousands of Tibetans, and that Tibetans are now a minority in their own land. Please show them some compassion, respect & humanity.

I haven't been to Tibet and I don't know what happened there. But the thing is: are you making analysis on any facts? What make you insist that "Chinese people can NOT deny China killed, tortured & imprisoned thousands of Tibetans" is what I am interested in.
BTW, thanks to reduce the number from "millions" cited by a lot of brainless people to "thousands", even though I am also really doubt about the imprecise number.

I'll leave doing more research on the number of killings of Tibetans up to you. That way you can see the killings with your own eyes. That includes talking to Tibetans whose families were killed, tortured & imprisoned. Also, I am quite sure the ICJ (an organization made of 60 judges & lawyers throught the world) made their analysis of "Genocide" on facts. That's a very serious official term of international law. If you don't agree with the ICJ's facts, you'll have to take it up with them.

It is very heartening to see Protests BY TRUTH AND FREEDOM LOVING PEOPLE everywhere and everyday for FREE TIBET AND HUMAN RIGHTS. This protest only makes China and Chinese people look even worse. They have no sense of right and wrong. As long as it's chinese, it's OK. They gang up to support themselves no matter what. China treated them like animals so they had to come to Western country to live and enjoy freedom, yet they will bow to China every time. Let say they were evicted from their houses to make room for the Olympics in China, can they do the same thing without the government permission? So pitiful.
