and, the fact that the video cam was zoomed onto the name of the reagent at 0:55 (sodium hydroxide) is very obvious that the hint was already given. what i mean is, that the student has wrongly switched up the order of reagents to be added to the sample. it should be sodium hydroxide first, followed by copper (II) sulphate. that's the simple answer to the question posed in the video.
It doesn't say what concentration of NaOH it is, but its probably fairly dilute, none the less, it probably won't be the end of you without gloves. And a 1% CuSO4 solution is essentially harmless.
By the way its the Biuret Test, not Biuret's Test. There was no scientist named Biuret. Biuret is a name for H2NC(O)NH2, essentially two (bi-) urea molecules bonded togethe

whats the buiret test. i know its for proteins but what is it i know wht benedicts test is used for to identify if reducing sugar is present ?
