Simonchen, the Malaysian flag during the Gemas clip is actually that of the Federation of Malaya, which was founded in 1948. And the man in the uniform is indeed Sir Gerald Templer, alighting from an armoured train.

I think the man with army uniform & baton alighting the train was Sir Gerald Templer(former British high commissioner in Malaya), he carried out the Briggs plan & gave a big blow to the MPAJA then. There is a park(Templers Park) named after him in Selangor state along the Federal road not far away

to Kuala Lumpur.
