  • Is that the drummer for Incognito?

  • all you need to do is autotune your fucking drumset to make it sound good!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great drumming but two words

BUDDY RICH>>all drummers past and present including Bonzo,Peart

  • this is not even his best solo! go check out his other ones

  • I like mike portnoy a lot better but this guys badass too

  • moritz mueller;)

  • In my opinion better was John "Bonzo" Bonham and his great Moby Dick. But it's my opinion, you don't have to agree with me. And about this solo.. hmm.. it's nice but i watched better solos.

  • louie bellson is the best

  • Neal Peart is a lot better

  • @JesseMoreauDrums Tony shits on Neil Peart from such a height that he thinks god shat on him

  • @neo4reals You got it backwards you mean, Neil shits on Tony from such a height that he thinks god shat on him**

  • @JesseMoreauDrums IMO, no.

  • @SubwayStar7 lMO, yes. LMAO you mean "LMAO"*

  • wow

  • neil pert??

  • There's no doubt he's a fuckin amazing drummer but im sure some where there's got to be a better drummer

  • Why does there even need to be racism? He's black. So what? He could still kick your scrawny ass at drumming any day for the rest of eternity. The reason the video is up is so people can enjoy his talent and hopefully get inspired. I know I did.

  • This isn't even his best solo which says a lot about how good of a drummer he his.

  • i better go practice.

  • pshhh!! i can do tht!!! (sarcasm)

  • he can suck thomas lang's cock in no time!

    shame!

  • @richpon1973 oh please

  • @jaleesamg

much as of Dylan Elise from New Zealand can praise him hehehe

  • @jaleesamg

    fuck you!

  • @richpon1973 ROFL xD

  • @jaleesamg

    lol

  • TOTAL OWN!!!!!

  • I'm a metalcore/hardcore drummer n that was pretty sweet. good job on fast doubles on the bass. total props

  • MARIO intro played on the drums :D

  • ........Gran Turismo music?

  • he could probably play a rythm to everything!!

  • Royster is undoubtedly a fabulous soloist. So, too, is Donati.

  • If your name is not Neil Peart, then this video is mislabeled.

  • @Marc2016 you said it, this KId is good but, that old man is AWSOME!!!!

  • lol best drum solo in the world

  • Very sorry if I sound lil racist, trust me, I'm not racist. But just, a black guy drumming.... just like a white guy rapping xD

  • @KingDevil444 You just sound extremely ignorant.

  • @lalegende007 lol xD I didn't want to say there are no good black drummers or something... Or that white drummers are better. Just that you see more white drummers then black ones, and with rapping it's the opposite... except if you always seek on 'black guy drumming' of course.... And now I feel like I gotta say it again: Realy nothing of this is meant to be racist to anyone.

  • @KingDevil444 Yep. But I just think you're wrong.

  • @lalegende007 xD lol mate... in what do you think I´m wrong???

  • @KingDevil444 "You see more white drummers than black ones" That is wrong. Type "famous drummers" in google, check out the drummerworld website since they have photos. And look at the amout of drummers. 50% at least are black. I'm not saying it's a race thing or anything. Just that your statement is wrong. Modern drumming is in many instances pioneered by black people. Drum schools in America often have a majority of black people. It does not matter, black or white just the same. but ure wrong.

  • @KingDevil444 You probably meant. There are more white drummers in contemporary rock and associated sub genres. Or in my limited view of the drumming world I've seen more white drummers than black. But what you said was just plain wrong. Not that race matters either way. ok rant over. lol

  • @lalegende007 yeah, but I did indeed mean the rock/metal bands and stuff... Most meatal/rock bands I know have white drummers. "Children of bodom, bullet for my valentine, slipknot, trapt, alien ant farm, linkin park, slayer, disturbed, ready set fall, Korn, Dope, WigWam (xD funny band) limp bizkit, Warmen, Symphorce, Mudvayne, HIM, System of a Down, Skindred (altough the singer is black xD) , Avenged Sevenfold, Dragonforce... All white drummers I believe... I'm not sure..

  • @lalegende007 With all respect for Black drummers.... but I just have actually never seen them before in a rock/metal band, so I was surprised to see one drumming this good in a video xD that's all...

  • @KingDevil444 Try Mike Smith from Suffocation dude... hes a black guy and is like Thee pioneer of the blast blast beat! the beat used by all the other "white" drummers today! just saying

  • I hope that synth player burns in hell for that dumbass intro.

  • 5 pages of comments, nobody saying Travis Barker or Joey Jordison is better? FINALLY.

  • @bitteredge Then I went to the 6th page. -_-

  • @bitteredge that's cuz hopefully drummer's who look up tony royster jr dont even know who they are, sadly i have a sister who listens to horrible music

  • /they are all the best drummers in the world, as long as buddy rich isn't in the contest

  • fail!!!

  • the synth player made it sound ike a song off a shitty gameshow hosted by a fake tan umpa lumpa host and a slutty ttrailer trash assistant

  • Nice? yes. Best? dunno.

  • Man that set sounds good

  • Harvey Mason owns all these fools and he didn't need a solo.

  • I like Royster a lot, but enjoy JoJo Mayer more...

  • @rired48 you got that right!

  • some "next level" sh*t....

  • FUCKING COOOOOOOOOL

  • @jjshaw12 What the hell?

  • i might make a video, the best average drum solo in the world

  • Great tone and skills, but it just seems like messing around to me.

  • @jjshaw12 what lol

  • This solo kicks ass

  • Outstanding thanks for posting

  • Tony is awesome BUT... I don't think this was his best work. Lacks a lot of dynamic that carries the solo. Sounds a bit random. Sorry Tony.

  • A M A Z I N G ! ! !

  • Comment removed

  • nobodys got more rythem than a black man

  • @Kierank30 have you not heard Buddy Rich???

  • @Josh230607 Great drummer! I love his memorial concerts

  • ooooo nice one racist

  • @Kribbet Thats not racist at all? Infact, thinking thats racist is whats keeping racism alive.

  • can some one explain to me how holding the stick traditionally helps your playing please?

  • @LucasCanDrum it doesn't it's just a different way to play but i don't think it hurts your playing either ive tried both it's like choclate ice cream v. vanilla it's a matter of preference

  • @SuperGilbs Thanks

  • cool why did the piano barg in geez

  • the bassdrum sounds like a really big macaroni hitting the ground.

  • fail

  • love that bass sound

  • Warm up time. Follow that dolphin!!

  • 1:50 new music style, technical elevator

  • This song is from the album "Songs That didn't make it into Final Fantasy VII"!

  • gay

  • people its named best solo in the world to get views not because its actually the best solo in the world! and tony wasnt trying very hard if u couldnt tell

  • Sure, he is a really good drummer. But he ain't the best drummer. In my opinion, my favourite drummer has to be George Kollais

  • @TheLondonGuy123 Kollias has nothing on Royster but foot speed.

  • @TheLondonGuy123 totally different, like comparing the best rapper with the beat metal singer, each is good on his stuff.

  • @bestplugins I just said George Kollais is my favourite. I never said that he was better than him in every way!.

  • @TheLondonGuy123 both are awesome, we agree :)

  • you dnt have to be fast for you to have "the best drum solo in the world" joey jordison couldnt hold a beat for his life anyways

  • nice

  • ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

  • it`s a nice one, but definitely not the best solo.....

  • i love the latin songs. and what's with his bass? they seem like he put something in front of it.

  • he replaced double pedal with double bass. how come he has so many cymbal stackers?

  • you all are resis cuz ''he is the best drumer'' cuz his black and he is not even close to be a good fast drumer.

    joey jordison is better.

  • @xxxdiabloxxx1 funny joke :p

  • @xxxdiabloxxx1 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Hate that style of music but tony royster jr is a beast on the drum kit

  • Thank You Gospel Chops.

  • DAMN!!! WHAT WAS HE LIKE AT 13, AGE?!?!

  • For example neil peart is for time (the famous time barrier) thomas is definately speed and another good one who dominates the bass is joey jordisson

  • He's really good but neil peart is better and i really think mike portnoy doubles neil peart another good one would be thomas lang everyone mention is an expert on something

  • the guy is good for JAZZ & talented...but not a NEIL PEART!!!

  • What's with the extensions on his bass drums?

  • If he is the best in the world , then what are Joey Jordison .. or The Rev ?? go fuck yourself man ..

  • @Monster69Dude Dude, Neil Peart

  • Nah i hate that sound of drums...specialy the 1rst tom is like....

  • the synth player ruined it.

  • not even a close second to neil ..sorry bub..

  • ok i agree with kc5tng about this not being the best drum solo but you sick if you think dave weckl is anythng close to tony royster jr.

  • i think some people are forgetting Buddy Rich. shame on you.

  • he has too many cymbals to be really good

  • Whenever anyone posts a video that says 'BEST EVER!' or 'BEST IN THE WORLD!' it always leads to disappointment. . . . . .

  • whats up with the high tom?

  • Amazing - no discussion about that. But... his smallest Tom sounds just terrible.

  • Sounds like KIM WILLIAMS back in the day!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Does Kim Williams still play

  • check out teddy cambpell but tony royster i gotta give it up to u man

  • He is a very talented drummer. I have watched him ever since he played the modern drummer festival when he was only 12 years old. I will not say this is the 'best drum solo in the world' though. He is extremely talented, and he is maybe one of the best and i give him mad props for his drumming abilities.

  • The scariest thing about him is that he doesnt have to use a double kick, he can use one if he wanted to dang!!

  • Perfect combination of speed and soul. Clean and tight with lots of feel. He needs a Coady Clutch instead of those spring loaded drop clutches.

  • he's got it! 95% of all drummers don't have it.

but he's got the "it" factor......and you have to be born with it.

  • *YAWN*

    Neil Peart has no peer

  • All of this is Billy Cobhams style

  • i LOVED THIS DUDES PLAYING.

  • I have never heard of this guy before but he does sound good. I was listening to Neil Peart and now him and well,...he doesn't sound like crap in comparison...at least not in 3 minutes. Yesterday I listened to some other people playing guitar and bass to a Rush song and they sounded really lame within 3 songs...which proves that Rush is making it look easy but only due to years of training as well as talent.

  • so how many best solo in the world videos are we up to now on youtube?

  • @LIGHTRONIX some where in the thousands probably.

  • @LIGHTRONIX More then you got thumps up :)

  • @LIGHTRONIX

    about 2,350 (i looked it up) :)

  • @LIGHTRONIX Mmmm..... it's just a matter of opinion.

  • Those drums sound like shit! I like Tony though!

  • This guy is killer. Not the best but who fuckin cares, I guarantee he is better than all of you dorks trying to justify how he is the best. He is the best at his style and aside from that nobody really gives a fuck.

  • 0:26-0:31 sounded akward :p

  • OH MY GOD IT'S SONIC THE HEDGEHOG! Oh wait...

  • They had to ruin it by cutting in with that gay ass muzak. :op

  • /watch?v=gEVrN9SdRuk

    Thumbs if this is better.

  • Don't let a stupid video heading get you all nuts. This is just Tony playing normal, no crazy solo stuff. I love Peart, Bozzio, etc. but those guys are not at this level technically speaking. That doesn't mean you can't like them more. They've been playing to your favorite music for over 30 years. What you have here is a drumming beast. Style wise I like a ton of drummers more who theoretically aren't as good as Tony. As someone said, check out Ronald Bruner jr. Insane chops with more style.

  • @SterlingRe no neil peart is the best drummer because if you compare

    them neil is the best

  • @space7851 This stuff is all subjective and the who's best talk goes no where. My point was very clear. Technically speaking, Tony is probably in the top ten (maybe even 5) drummers in the world. He simply does things very good drummers can't do, at least at his pace. I've been listening to Peart for 30 years and he is amazing. As insane as Tony's solos are, I'd probably prefer to listen to Peart if I only had 2 choices. Neil plays with an incredible band, most Royster footage is all solos.

  • bozzio baby snakes

  • LONG LIVE NEIL PEART ..................

  • this guy is awesome and fast in short spurts but he's no Neil Peart

  • If you like Tony, check out Chris Coleman and Ronald Bruner Jr. and stop fighting over who the best drummer is. A true musician will listen to anybody and instead of saying " I've heard better" they will say "what can I take from this to make myself better." Just some food for thought,

  • sick

  • The Neil Peart influence is undeniable, but this guy definately has a future...

  • and the war continues....blah blah is the best! (no, whats his face is the best!). i learned a long time ago to just love what these guys can do and how they each do it their own way. and dream of a day that will never come when i can play as well.

  • Am I the only one that thinks his drums sound awful in this video? Especially the toms, wtf?!

  • great drumming....the music is fucking horrible though.

  • his drums sound amazing.. what kind are they?

  • Buddy Rich is the best, punto.

  • has a smooth jazz tone which most drummer dont bother to learn i like it

  • The best died and there is no longer a best drummer, just favorite. Technically Gavin harrison is perfect butit's the style that counts.

  • Rofl @ the groove in the last bit. Sounds like it's straight out of an old Nintendo game.

  • he use the both bass right???

  • dont forget one of the best in Dream Theaters drummer Mr Portnoy

  • The best lol it makes me laugh boring

  • you would have to have some major issues in order too say this is the best solo hes good but not that good

  • cheesy synths...

  • Nice drumming. Nice drum set too I must say. However, you might want to compare Mr. Tony Royster to the likes of a Mr. John Blackwell. Do a search... He is at a reference level of drumming expertise of which I have not seen anyone yet match. Happy drumming!

  • His quickness is one the the best ive seen!

  • 57bigjoe,

    How about this quickness?..

    .../watch?v=Hd8Q3mVjlF4

  • @theaudiophilestore- That was pretty fast! Where did you learn that?

  • lol his 8" and his snare sound like shit

  • @88maverick1 was voted wasWASWASWAS

  • Not sure if I'd put Neil Peart on list of drummers who are at or above Tony's level.

  • @jeplojon Thats probably cause you have your head buried in your ass.

  • And to anyone comparing Neil Peart and Tony Royster: If you play an instrument, please stop because you obviously are too dumb to understand what music is actually about. If you don't know what I mean by that last part, you're the kind of person I'm talking about.

  • the title of this video is very very opinion orientated

  • whats the song and band?

  • his snare and bass sound great, the toms how ever could sound much better

  • In my opinion, as of now, Tony Royster Jr. is the best drummer of the 21st century.

  • Tony Royster is an amazingly talented drummer but this is NOT the Best Drum Solo Ever.

Check out Dave Weckl...Thomas Lang...Mike Mangini...Steve Gadd...Vinnie Coaliutu...Dennis Chambers...Neil Peart...Jacob Armen ( an Amazing 12 year old drummer) just to name a few. All these named drummers play at or above Tony's level but each one has a different style of playing. Just check em out and Enjoy their Talent...Its not about whose Best...they all are~!!

  • @kc5tng Jacob Armen is in his twenties now, and not so amazing. But yeah, and that wasn't even Tony's best solo.

  • this is not tonys best solo but he will kick anyones ass if he battles he has speed precision power just to name a few but they all have diferent styles sum better than others

  • @kc5tng yes please tell these young kids about the real drummers yall go look up all of dennis chambers stuff from the 80's and 90's no drum alive today can come close not even tha great me

  • @kc5tng You can obviously tell, that this guy only knows what he has seen on YouTube.

  • @kc5tng nice list but get your facts right. Jacob Armen is in his twenties now.

  • @kc5tng For his age and just flat out Tony is def better than Mike Mangini, Steve Gadd and i dont even know why Neil Peart was mentioned he is easily the worst drummer on that list ( not to say he sucks just no where near the same realm as the other guys )

  • @TDBobbyhill steve gadd owns this kid. dont ever say that again.

  • @rawkforme steve gadd was brillant back before tony was born but he's nothing now in
