@sparrow5469 yes I say meh. I was all over the storm and witnessed it in every stage because I chased it. Like I said a shelf cloud... its a part of thunderstorms it also indicates that the storm is dieing. they generally die quite violently with powerful downdrafts. at this point in the storm they cannot produce a tornado. I see dozens of these every year when chasing. so once again... meh...
I was at a hotel by the airport outside of edmonton, i had to stay there for a couple hours even though i wasnt even staying at the hotel. Power went out, had to drive home in the storm.
it was so horrible! hope you guys really prepare for the same thing! in my country, becoz it is a tropic weather, so I never seen like this before! but storms that we have here are successfully make us terrify (though smaller)! cant wonder this one! gee..
heck i nvr saw so many trees up rooted in my life everywhere you turned there was more and more!! my poor lil girl and My grandmother didnt kno what to do so they were hiddn in the basement with no power my girl was 1 n half!! SCARY ASS NIGHT
our door is shattered and chipped cause the windows in my mom and dad's rom were open and the crazy wind we had slammed the door shut. this storm we had was last night though so it wasn't this one. our tent was on top of neighbours roof
im lucky i moved before this but i remember one bad one in august 9 2004 that sucker was awesome blew the power and the lightning was crazy the whole town didnt get power back until the next day
@Demosthenas you say meh, but guess what. That sucker up rooted trees, and as my husband went out for a smoke at our old place ( and when i say old i mean like 90 something years old) a window blew out! Also the massive fair that happens here every year was shut down and not to mention the festivities that where happening right across from City Hall. The storm also caused damage to quite a few high rise buildings as well. Power went out to most of Downtown Edmonton too u should check more videos
Man that night i was so scared !!!! .... i saw a funnel cloud but it was a quick(er) storm where i was and It kinda just quickly passed and the clouds werent " moving " in they were rolling in I WAS SOOOOOO SCARED!!!!! = /
the day this storm hit, i ( of course) was outside.
so there i was looking out into the distance ( i live in the country) at the dark brown clouds. all of a sudden there was a giant gust of wind like 80 km an hour which slamed the door onto my hand..... i then spent the next 2 hours spazing out and hiding in my basement.
I was soo scared but amazed I was camping. Out side of edmonton and like this storm hit my tent blew away so i slept in my grannys motor home. I was like crying and pacing i was soo scraed there would be a tornado.. and The rest of my family.. We were at a family reunion.. were in a hall in the basment with candles and the roof like almost blew off
omg that storm was frikin scray i was crying and i almst puked i was swiimming at a pool with a friend when all this stuff happened and we were like a lets go and then the power went out in the pool and it sounded like a tornado forming
This was the Scaryest strom i ever saw like i was Freaking out and crying and screaming because there was lighting and Hail and trees were falling i thought for sure there would be a torndoe
omg those clouds were intense!! i saw them from the window in my house (im on the 4th floor) and i went to look at them... came bak in 2 mins, they were right over top of me!!!
