@RiaUsuma235 actually L's death was what made the series so incredible and one of the best ever made...that way the series became very emotional and lots of people wanted to cry when he died...and it was good that Near appeared to continuou L's work so that the people who are watching feel relief at the end when he takes revenge for L...

@FOTARAStheGREEK I know. Still, even though it really was very well done, it was very sad. That´s why Death Note is not my favorite anime and it´s not on the list of the best, but only of the well-known. It´s too gloomy, because almost everyone dies. Yes, I agree with Near, avenging L and besides Near is one of my favorite characters along with L and if to be honest, Mikami, and I really feel relief, that he continues working for L, even after the last is gone.

Yes we all love L-he was my favourite character in death note. I was so dissapointed when he died...did I say dissapointed? I meant totally and utterly depressed/sad/upset-you name it. He was awesome and the series isnt the same without him. And, I find, I can always cry over his death :(

While I haven't finished reading the manga and have yet to watch the anime (working on both), my words probably won't hold much weight, but Light is the MC, the story is focused on HIM and HIS CONFLICTS. I was very upset when L died, but it didnt deter me from continuing with the story. This manga did something that rarely happens; it focused on the bad guy. This is probably going to get me flamed but I LIKE LIGHT! and its about goddamn time the bad guy gets the limelight. (I still love L!)
