  • asians don't stink like the cauasians. we rarely use deordorant , just soap

  • I'm quite a hairy man, with a full beard. Is this gonna scare people (and my students) away when I get to Korea?

  • Sometimes It's the kimchee that is eaten and then sweat out that causes the strange odor. "You are what you eat" they say. I always got my deodorant on the base.

  • I love drinking Milk..is the taste the same over there?...and why don't they have dryers for your clothes?..I notice that everyone drys them outside

  • korean people eat kimchi and daenjjang all the time and its super smelly. but as a people they really aren't that smelly. deodorant just isn't that necessary when you're not hairy.

  • Buy Colonge == they sell them at department stores im very sure they have them :)

  • Love this - it really gives you a good feel for the atmosphere of the place!

  • did i just see two people wearing SARS mask??

  • My mother's Korean and she doesn't use deodorant but has no bad aroma. I'm half Korea and I have to use deodorant or I stink. However, she can be sweating all day in the garden and come inside with none of the body odor that I (or my dad) would give off. Go figure. No Asians that I know of use deodorant at all. And no, they don't stink.

  • It's not a peace sign in Korea it means V for Victory...

  • he went to the wrong place to buy deodorants. You don't go to the market to buy deodorant, you go there to buy fish, food, clothes, some house appliances and stuff, but not deodorant.

  • Deoderant in the traditional market? make no wonder you can't find any.

  • ^^ I like the natives speaking dialect in the backgrounding.

  • Busan dialect is definitely an interesting form of Korean :)

  • @BusanKevin saturie lol! i guess thats the best way to write it in english :)

  • Oh and we just tend to instinctively do the peace sign when we get our picture taken Although I don't. Dunno why..

  • Yea! It is gooooooooooooooooooooooooooood!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 1:10, are koreans told to do the peace sign to white people holding cameras? lol

  • I dunnno...but everyone in Korea and Japan does it! A mystery!

  • @Aggiesgigem Hmm usually from all videos i saw they're rather pissed off to be filmed haha

  • "Not sure what you do with the turtle."

    Eat it? =P

  • very nice in busan i miss it :( :)

  • Wow...they rarely use deodorant in Korea?

But was that a doodoo blowup thingy I spotted? lol. Too funny. I've never seen a toy like that in the U.S, where I've lived at least.. lol.

  • @808RASkAL

They do sell deodorant. he's looking for it at the market..that place is like farmer's market...he should have went to costco, hi-mart or department store (they sell grocery and deodorant at the basement)

  • its soooo good the squid stuff. im korean and i eat it all the time!

  • lol are you serious? Go to the store and buy deodorant. Get out of the shijang and go to an actual grocery store, convenience store, or department store. You couldn't find deodorant on an American street vendor, why would you expect any different?

  • you couldn't buy deodorant at supermarkets, department stores and convenience stores then.....everyone was just stinky I guess!! hehe

  • sometimes sarcasm is difficult to appreciate online. I am hoping that you enjoyed your trip in my home town and maybe in the future, you can see the whole kalchi of the city; not just the historic international tourist market, nampodong.

  • theres a famous naeng myun restaurant in nampo dong called won sam myun ok. been around for like 50 years and its fucking goooood

  • ,, does this mean Koreans have low incidence of b.o.?...

  • i love street markets in korea!!

    nice vid =))

  • Hahaha this video reminded me of trying to find deodorant with a friend when I was in Korea a few summers ago....not an easy task!

  • For sure. That's why I always suggest people bring a years' supply!

  • Beautiful. Thank you

  • glad you liked it :)

  • Why is it so hard to get deodorant there?

  • It used to be, when I first arrived in Korea. Now you can get it, but probably not the brands you are used too!

  • i miss korea, thx.

  • Glad you enjoyed the video :)

  • lmao, a poo toy...

  • some old people in korea use to make some medicine kind food with turtle those turtles arent for just taste those are for medicine

  • thought i saw a couple dead dogs and cats for sale

  • well you must've been dreaming since if they actually sell dog meat in an open maket, they package the meat part separately just like beef and you would never find cat meat for sale because they are only used for medicines [and very rarely]

  • cool!

  • Did you take all these vids on your digital camera?

  • I took these ones using a mini-dv cam.....a Sony handycam. My new vids...I use the vid option on a Sony CyberShot

  • What the? I didn't know that Koreans sell turtles to eat?...

I've been to China and I saw turtles that were sold to eat. no offense to anyone though

  • I don't think it's too common. I saw them at 2 different markets in Busan. Pretty weird though...can't imagine they taste very good!

  • it's very rare and for medicine only.. most Korean people never taste tutle in their lives.

  • What the hell? What's a turtle doing at a market? First time I've seen that in a korean market.

  • I once saw turtles for sale at a market in Bujeon-Market in Busan. i have no idea what they're for or how they're prepared...

  • no way...turtles are friends

  • lol, poo toy.

  • Lots of poo toys...poo pencils, poo stationary...little Korean schoolkids have a fascination with all things poo!

  • those dry squids are really hard to chew.

  • They sure are!

  • I think this is really awesome! its really a walk through the city, can you make more of these in different parts of Korea if you get the chance? I would love to see

  • Great video! I always buy deodorant at Lotte Department Store.

  • I've read that deodorant is really difficult to find in South Korea. I'll definitely be packing a big supply if and when I go there!

  • You're right...it is! If your going for a year, bring a year's supply. It's tough to get and they probably won't have your brand at the markets you can find it at.

  • This video makes me miss Korea a lot.

It's funny to see a couple of guys in the video wearing masks, probably they have a cold or try to protect themselves from catching a cold.

  • Either that or like Japan...there are doctors everywhere!!! hehe
