Thanks for making my Maggie Mae a favourite ! I really like your Moonlight Knight version - I recently got Selling England by The Pound , it's got some stand out tracks. I recently saw G2 - a Genesis tribute band that play mainly Gabriel era stuff - they were brilliant, well worth a visit if in your area.Be warned - I have been trying to learn Hackett's Horizons - tricky for a non-muso ham fist like me.If I post it, I will try and keep the swearing to a minimum.
Genesis Six Hours Live 1972-1980 2DVD set, Genesis, The Lamb Live at the Shrine 3-disc 2CD/DVD set, Genesis Live in Montreal 1974 2CD set, Genesis Live in Zurich 1977 2CD set available at Tommygun Video - link to order and more details available on our channel (this one)
@centralscrutinizer9 guess its harder to make out the voicings when Tony Banks plays the keys - so full credit to you for that too - your probably closer then i thought as i never heard the "digesting england by the pound" part strictly on guitar - haha
@skaborsky yea bro I dig Drake and Martyn and Gabriel and all this Incredible late 60's early to mid 70's Brit stuff . America can't claim the best rock music the Brits have it down cold. Tho there have been some great American rock bands.
I have a very catholic taste re youtube and browse loads of videos of people playing music I like (Nick Drake, John Martyyn e.g.) but I've enjoyed this as much as anything I've ever heard and it makes me want to try and be steve hackett if only for a wee tiny bit. Thanks, I really, really loved this.
Dont forget Phil has always been there and was one of the best progrock drummer ever, with or without Petrer Gabriel as frontman, but you are right about Genesis of the Gabriel/Hackett era being the best,,, no doubt, and no trumpets please...;)
What chord are you changing to at 0:21-0:23, after the B chord?
As there were no notation, nor tabs for this song I had to find it out all by my self. But I just want to thank you very much, cause after looking a bit a your fingerwork I managed to figure out the whole song, except the part I just asked for :P
Yes, youre awesome. I really like this version, I've just thought I could try do that too infact. Really nice voice similar to Gabriel. Best wishes. Adam
In the beginning your voice sounds a little pitchy at times, but as the song goes on, you really warms up to it. A very good attempt! Good job! Did you work it out on your own or did you get sheet music from somewhere?
thanks! yeah voice is abit exposed i played this before setting the guitar up the tuning was out in parts .i mixed the guitar parts up i got the tab from a genesis tab project page if anyone wants the link email me. it has the score for most of their albums
