  • i used to live in wichita now i live in atlanta georgia my grandmas house is 30 minutes south of dodge city on the oklaholma border

  • Nice video. I actually have a lot of family who live near this area and this past thanksgiving we had a great hunt. The best part is they were all wild birds.

  • americans trying to shoot... always entertaining!

  • Man I have land out by bucklin and we have hundeds of birds on the land plus land near bazine where the birds fly by the hundeds it's crazy

  • I too am from dodge City and believe you me cecil runs a great operation but this is just a taste of what there is to be had in kansas for pheasant hunting

  • good hunt

  • great video

  • sweet video i love shooting

  • I just went pheasent hunting today and it was exactly like this!!! NICE video!!!

  • Are you a vegetarian or somethiing because hunting is completely normal.

  • shutup you fucking tree hugging bitch

  • I have a 20 Gauge single shot, would that be good for pheasant hunting if the person im hunting with and a pump?

  • If your a good shot and be selective on your shots you will do ok.

  • I only use a 20ga O/U for ALL of my upland game hunting. Its much lighter and easier to carry. In terms of effectiveness in killing, a 20 ga. is extremely suffiecient in killing doves to pheasant out to 45 yards with the right chokes. Essentially 75% of the shots you take are <30yds so it is pefectally suitable. Having only one shot will also make you become aware of timing and shot selection as mentioned before, but you can do much better than "ok"...the 20ga is IMO the only upland gauge needed

  • my buddy owns a lodge where we go bear hunting every once and a while!!!

  • i go every year to garfield near larned to hunt with some friends

  • where in kansas are you? I live in Wichita and i go to Anthony in Harper county to hunt.

  • Dodge City

  • Ive never been there to hunt but it looks like you were very successfull with pheasant.

  • yeah they are loud, not as loud as a rifle but cameras dont do them justice

  • hunting cool

  • i like using a semi auto .20 gauge cause you can enpty 3rounds on a bird real fast or nock down 2 or 3

  • on 1;14 i bet that rooster scared the shit out of them

  • what kind of guns are you using, they definatley don't sound like shotguns

  • shotguns aren't as loud as they're made out to be

  • Its hard for a camera without a decent recording microphone to pick up and then play back the exact noise of a shot gun, also the speakers that you listen through play a factor in it too. You end up with the 'clunk' sound that you hear in this video, rather than the loud cracking bang in real life.

  • nice hunt

  • Who shot towards the cameraman @ 2:10?

  • nothing better than south dakota.. 200 yard sorgum patch, 11 hunters, 28 birds... bet hunt of my life there was at least 300 birds in that patch.. south dakota is unbelieveable

  • Pheasant hunting rules, definately the best of upland game in my opinion. I go in the Oklahoma pandandle, almost to the Kansas border. Nothing like a steady stream of birds coming your way!

  • I'm kind of new to pheasant hunting and I was wondering what kind of shotgun shells I should use to go hunting. I have an 870 Magnum express 12 gauge.

  • eh 6 shot is like an average size to use. 4 shot if u get it is good if the birds will be further away cuz ull blow it apart close up,

  • I like to use winchester supreme 3" magnum #6 1 5/8 .oz...They are kindof expensive but they have the knockdown power when you need it.I have killed pheasants out to 70 yards with them.I also use an improved cylinder choke..

  • i actually just got back from kansas im from iowa we stayed in great bend we found alot more quail than pheasants it was still pretty warm tho.

  • I'm kind of new to pheasant hunting and I was wondering what kind of shotgun shells I should use to go hunting. I have an 870 Magnum express 12 gauge.

  • just get 2 3/4 inch 12 gauge bird shot

  • I've been hunting for years and prefer a 16 gauge with #6 shot. If you're road hunting in the afternoon and going to chase em down I like 12 gauge with 11/4 oz of #5's.

  • No offense but u should really work on your shot.

  • I'm kind of new to pheasant hunting and I was wondering what kind of shotgun shells I should use to go hunting. I have an 870 Magnum express 12 gauge.

  • I used 2 3/4 with 5 or 6 shot

I love my browning BSS 20 ga. best shotgun ever!!!!!

  • you can hunt pheasnt w, or w/o a bird dog.just easier w the dog. and guns dont make a huge diff, depends on how good a shot u are, my lil brother uses a 410 and still knocks birds down, adn i no grown men that use 410s still. i use a 20guage most of the time.

  • It is definatly possible to hunt without dogs...but it kinda sucks..I have One Golden Retriever..and two labs...i couldn't imagine hunting without them. It just makes it a lot easier to flush the birds up and easier to find them once you get them down.

  • pheasant hunting is great. yes you can hunt without dogs. i do it that way most of the time. i just went hunting on tuesday and wednesday. got five pheasant and one rabbit. it really is a lot of fun. I hunted with my dad and had a good time.

  • i use my poodle but golden retrivers work the best

  • thats bulll shit golden retrievers are good dogs but not good for pheasant hunting.

  • is this possible to do without dogs? i wanna go this weekend but i dont wanna waste my time.

  • im sure they are using 12 gauges. you can hunt pheasants without dogs but pheasants are surprisingly strong birds and if they dont die they can run and dogs make all the difference in the world when your tracking a wounded bird. i dont recommend hunting upland game without a good bird dog!

  • i just went Pheasant hunting yesterday i shot a few but i use a 28 what are they using becasue i cant really see

  • Nice video but you boys need some time on the trap range, lol

  • I just went pheasant hunting for my first time and it was awesome!!! im going next week to

  • I'm not one to harp on anyone, and if your friends are cool with you hunting like that than whatever. But a little bit more respect should be paid to the "fields of fire" or "zones of fire" rule. You can see clearly in this video folks swinging shotguns right over their buddies head. That's a big no-no. In hunters ed they should have gone over this, but stick to 45 degree wide zones of fire. It's ok to let a few birds go in the name of safety.

  • exactly well said, i bet that those guys ears were ringing for a week after that.

  • Must be nice having pheasants in michigan you have to go to a farm to hunt them =[

  • where at in MI are you??? i just got back from felch...in the U.P

  • south of flint

  • love Pheasant Hunting

  • i think before u go out again u should shoot some clays and get warmed up and a little better dont follow the bird with ur barrel swing into the bird watch it with ur eyes then as ur swinging plant the gun in ur shoulder but dont look at the sight use ur eyes once u get the concept u can shoot any shot .

  • cool but too many guns goin on one bird

  • why arent those roosters crowing wen they get up

  • u can tell the difference between a wild bird and a raised bird couse a wild bird wont crow when they get up

  • Its more of "shooting" than hunting when they're planted... but i'm sure it was fun!

  • i know someone that hunt there his gruio[p got 89 birds out of 200

  • Nice video (except for the shot towards the camera - not cool IMO). Sure can tell the released birds from the wild ones! Looks like a fun day.

  • those birds are planted..

  • yes there is released birds, but we hunt on 2000 acres of open ground and have lots of wild birds in the fields.

  • is this west of topeka i hunt down in morton county kansas cimmaron national grassland the pheasant population is wonderful. And you might and even to get to roll a big old black tailed jackrabbit out walking in the huge fields out there. My dog is a black and tan coonhound he can flush pheasant and jackrabbits he loves to kill game that is what makes him a good flsuher.

  • The lodge is 12 miles south of Dodge City.

  • good video +++++
