  • Re: enjoying cooking... I've just recently (for about last 18 months) become a stay-at-home mom. And never enjoyed cooking, either. In the last week, I've made three new dishes. I think being home, without the pressures of thinking about a job you have to go to the next day is what helped me open up to the actual enjoyment of cooking.

  • (continued) but, I'd rather they go to school in clean clothing than with oatmeal stains all over them. Also, I wash EVERYTHING they wear after just 1 wear; maybe I could amend that a little. I've just recently started teaching my 7 year old son to look over his jeans before tossing them in the hamper; look to see if they are dirty. If they are not, he's been instructed to leave them lying on his toy chest and when I come in to tuck him in, I'll see he's left them there... then I check them.

  • I don't know how in the world I'd do laundry on JUST ONE DAY! I wash clothes and linen for me and my 2 small children. My husband, thankfully, has always done his own (for all 10 years of our marriage). It seems I'm washing a couple loads at least 4 days a week. Does anyone else have this problem? One thing I realize is happening is my kids tend to eat breakfast in their pj's which then end up with stains on them. But (continued)

  • I need this I have gained weight I have gotten into a rut

  • Great video - don't worry once you have kids being a housewife WILL become a full time job. Much more than 40 hours a week!! - but it is so rewarding and fun and you are so organized you will be a super mom!!!!

  • THANK YOU. you are a SAVIOR to me. I just recently got married, and all summer i am a housewife. This is my first summer being married. and exactly as you stated, lately without a schedule i have been so lazy and in my pj's etc. so now i will start a routine for myself and i know it will work. you've inspired me! so thank you so much for sharing this! xoxo

  • I absolutely love this video! U should put it in writing!!

  • Love this vlog! You are so organized and I love it! I hope whenever I am able to stay home I am that organized. :) Do you have a facebook page?

  • Great vlog. I really hope to be able to stay home soon and I always dream about what my schedule will be like! I love that you have lunch with your grandma every week - that is so important. :)

  • Absolutely love your videos!

  • @hipmommy0506 Thank you so much :)

  • Great vid--if you have time--could you walk us (me) through the tricks of house management so to speak. It sounds like you learn a lot from your Mom that's awesome. You're going to be a great Mom!!!!!!! BABY DUST

  • @odetochef I could definitely do a video about that! What do you want to know more about specifically? I just wanna make sure I understand what you're asking :)

  • Let me just say...."SUPER WOMAN!". Kelsey, you are amazing!!!! I am new to the whole being a housewife thing, and you are putting me to shame:p Any H.E.B's near you???? None here, and Joe misses them! Love you Much!! <3 and Hugs!

  • @LeAnnaMae29 I LOVE HEB! Haha, that's the store I drive 20 miles to go to... it's an HEB Plus and it's soo big and clean and has the best selection! And I'm sure you are a wonderful housewife LeAnna!

  • Great idea for a video!!

  • Lol. I totally know what you mean about the days when your hubby is home. There is no way to clean or get anything done when my hubby is home, plus when he is home all I want to do is spend time with him :)

  • @brittanykay22109 Haha yes! I am staring at 4 things out of place right now because of him in one room. I wouldn't change it though :) At least he is home! When he was deployed the house was spotless but it was lonely. Having his mess means he's HERE! :)

  • Quick question--how do you plan for cooking for two? I must admit I'm a horrible cook and need entry level recipes but when I do find something we never seem to finish it because all of the recipes are made for families. Do you have this problem or have you found good recipes for two? Thanks!!

  • @lunaandneville Ah that is a really good question! I am planning to make a few videos in the next few days and how about I just do a video about this. :)

  • I really started to enjoy cooking when I was a SAHW. I really learned a lot and now I don't ever use a cook book. I loved this vlog - it's just great to learn more about everyone. Thanks for sharing!

  • @kyleandjessP Ah you should totally do some vlogs with your favorite recipes! A few TTCers have been doing them recently and I've loved seeing them :D

  • Everyone thinks I am crazy for *just* wanting to be a SAHM. Like it is a Bad Thing? It is all I want to do. I love staying at home with my son. Teaching him & getting to see when he learns new things.I would not want it any other way!! I could not wait to go from "housewife" to "SAHM" either!! It is a WONDERFUL transition and I hope you get to experience soon sweetie :)

  • @Jenniferaj072806 Yes! That's exactly how I feel. I truly feel like it's the job I'm meant for.

  • I love this idea i chose my work hours and have good balance of work and home but i don't have set days which would make me more productive for sure :) great idea

  • @linypcos Thanks! :)

  • Im not a housewife but i thought id still watch because i love your vlogs! Sounds like you do a great job maintaining your home and being very organised! Great vlog!

  • @MsRrossi Thank you!

  • Loved this video. I found myself saying ... oh ya i do that on the weekend or... that only gets done once a month. But, i love heing a working mom and where we live i have to be. Plus hailey loves daycare and all her friends her age there. If we ever moved somewhere rural i would love to try the sah mom thing. :-)

  • @BeckyNIU I would've never been in this position had we not moved to where we are now. I was super career oriented before but I just sort of fell in to this "problem" and I've started to really love it. I have a big appreciation for working mothers though, for sure. Like you :)

  • I love this so much!!! I am so making a plan like this!! :o)

  • @MrsAprylM Haha good luck!

  • You should totally do a video each Monday on ypur menu plan (=

  • @CandidMommy I will! :) And pssst your chicken enchilada recipe is going to be included this upcoming week. I've been thinking about it since you posted that vlog!

  • Sounds great! I'm a housewife as well and for some reason I rebel against schedules, lol. I know you love cookbooks just as much as I do, what are some of your favorites?

  • @Tashakcooks I'm doing a meal planning video in a couple days and I will talk about my favorite cook books then! Honestly I am upstairs snuggled in bed right now and avoiding having to get out of the warm covers to go down and see what they are called :) lol

  • What does your husband go to school for? How long have you been staying home? I would love to be able to stay home. Sounds like you do a great job maintaining a beautiful home! :)

  • @jonasnjennlove My husband was in the military for 8 years but separated in August due to disability. He's back in school now to finish his degree in aeronautical engineering. When he started school we moved to a new town and I've been staying home since then.

  • @jonasnjennlove (Continued) The disability pay he gets makes it feasible, otherwise we wouldn't be able to. We've had to make a lot of sacrifices going from two decent paying jobs to literally none. I am planning to do a video about how we budget soon because I've been asked about how we make it and why we are TTCing in this position.

  • great video. Depending on who gets the better paying job, me or my hubby, i might end up being the housewife come this spring if hubby lands the better paying job. loved this topic.

  • @wrenslifejourney best of luck! :)

  • I absolutely LOVED this video! I am a recent housewife and am still trying to figure out my routine. I just kinda do random things during the day, clean here and there, and try and figure out what to do. I really need to set my days up like you so that I have a plan. I want to start meal planning because dinner for us is always so up in the air, and I end up cooking the same things pretty often. Do you find that you save a lot of money by meal planning every week?

  • @PearlDahhhling Meal planning is definitely a HUGE money saver and has made our eating so much healthier and more convenient too. I am going to do a video about it in the next few days. I do a really simplified version of it compared to some people, but I really has been a big help for me.
