As an Australian soldier, i love this rifle. as far as cleaning goes, you look after it, it will look after you. very accurate(Top score in my platoon at kapooka) very versitile, comfortable to opperate, light, it is a nice thing to use and easy to maintain.
@umerrashid1 its a piece of tactical equipment, just a hand gun on a swivel whats more it was copied of the Israelis, plus the Americans and French have rifles with far more fire power than the POF eye, and they are mounted with cameras allowing them to fire round corners. "Best advanced gun in the world" my ass.
@originalninjapirate There was actually a bullpup rifle made in the UK before the Lee Enfeild became the main service rifle, there were only about 40 made before the idea was dropped. This was the first ever bullpup rifle.
@MrgoodnytThe EM-2, Also known as Rifle No.9 Mk1 or "Janson rifle", was an experimental British assault rifle. It was briefly adopted by British forces in 1951, but the decision was overturned very shortly thereafter by Winston Churchill. we never used them in combat but we did make the manufacture them and gave them to our troops but the cost and joining nato is the only reason we gave them up as it was an .280 British caliber.
@Mrgoodnyt i have seen pictures in an enfield book, it was from 1898 if my memory serves me correctly with the 5 round magazing being integrated into the handgrip and a straight pull bolt that slid along the top of the stock, it was intented at a cavalry rifle but was deemed too awkward, however the first 'lee' rifle was introduced in1889, 9 years before.
@Treblaine the l85a2 has addessed all the problems of the sa-80 and is now a very sucessful rifle, and has been proven to be more accurate than the aug
@KiwiTomCrawford Yeah, it only took them 15 years, the cannibalisation of a massive proportion of their stock and a cost greater than simply procuring new rifles and infrastructure... all just to make a FUNCTIONAL weapon!
You could write a 10'000 word essay on how the SA-80 is inferior to EVERY other service rifle in current use BEFORE you even touch on the issue of reliability.
And that is ALL that L85A2 fixed, reliability merely "tolerable".
Pinpoint Accuracy is not paramount in a COMBAT rifle
@KiwiTomCrawford Cont: SA-80 is not, and has never been a successful series, even with A2. There has not been a single overseas contract for the SA-80, the new overseas users were simply "donations" to tin-pot allies who discarded them swiftly.
It is the most expensive combat rifle only because of criminally negligent cost overruns.
In the UK military all the "Special Forces" are desperate for an alternative. The ENTIRE SA-80 series could very well be the worst weapon series of the 20th century.
What is the AUG doing on this list? It's not particularly innovative and didn't inspire all that many designs. Since this list is supposed to be all about combat rifles, why is a rifle that hasn't seen much combat even being considered? Why is it ranked ahead of M14, STG, and 1903 - all of which have seen action in major wars? It wasn't even produced in large numbers.
This crap reminds me why I don't watch the Discovery channel.
I am 10 and I already know the official guns of big army's. Canada has the colt c-7, France with their famas, australia had the aug, britan has the enfield guns and the USA has the m-4 .
@GunMaker91 Well i know since H&K Are German Arms Company who invented the H&KMP5, H&KG36, H&KPSG-1, and even the H&KM416. But the rifle i'd make standard issue would be the M468 Rifle, more American...
@paranoidwaffle65 Actually the Enfield is called the L82A2, and America has the M4A1, M249SAW, M14EBR, and M16A2 and A4 not sure what happend to the A3 but eh... anyway Even China Looks at the designs like the Styer AUG-A3 it's Called the Type 95&97 and the Gemans just use the H&KG36 rifle and H&KPSG-1... Keep up the good study though, hell maybe you can invent the worlds new Battle Rifle
@69CatLady The Styer AUG is lighter weight than most assault rifles today yet it still has the same accuracy and stoping power along with about the same rate of fire. The people on the show are military historians, weapons experts, and former soldiers. If you think for one second that a half a dozen people across that line have all just dropped their brains and gone insane your aren't listening. Replay the video and listen to their reasons carefully. The google the gun and see how many are made.
@e0o9kii Im not sure, sorry if a portraied that, i am only 14, yet know people in the Army, photos of them with AUG's all the recuitment videos ect. have AUG's yet we may use an M4 like the Americans use XM8's or G36's ect.

@RaderizDorret Wearing eye protection. In a safe manner, experiment using the various factory brass catchers. You may even remove the hinged outer portion that swivels open and shut for a lower profile. In this way, some may transition the weapon back and forth, housing the bag, for certain applications. Will act similar to the raised portion behind the ejection port on the M4-16-416 series reflecting spent brass. This is not a 100% safe solution, but it is something to see if it works for you.

@ElCholo2579 yes i know the rifle is Austrian, whats your point?? the rifle was made famous by the Australian army and more militarys buy the Australian made F88 then the Austrian made AUG. i think there are only 2 countrys in the world that use the AUG and about 7 or 8 that use the F88. That is why im proud to be Australia.
@HONORGUARD308 Austrian rifle made famous by Austrian Saudi Omani Tunisia Jordan Moroccan Cameroon Djibouti Gambia Ecuador Irish German (Navy), Italy Netherlands Croat Kosovo Serbian Bolivia Argentina Falklands Luxembourg Pakistan Uruguay militaries & FBI, US Border Patrol, US Customs, Various SWAT possibly also UK SAS. Australia just joined bandwagon. Your “Australian” rifle was still Licensed from Austria correct? Take credit only when you design something from ground up, not copy modification

@offroadoverdrive dude no need to get so shity. the AUG you see most countrys use are in fact the F88. the ones from the lithgow factory. there are only 2 countrys that use the AUG and about 7 that use the Australian made F88.
Im not taking credit for the AUG, i just simply stated a fact.
1) im proud to be aussie
2) the Australia made F88 is used by 7(or 8) nations while the AUG is only used by 2 nation
@HONORGUARD308 Skip choice words and stick to lager. All 3 of your points are either irrelevant, inaccurate and or nonsensical. Of 24 countries I’ve listed, research how many of those are made in Austria. It may surprise you answer is more than the 2 you allege. Purchased a number of US Customs AUG kits in past when offered for US sale, carriers, stocks and barrels were not marked made in kangaroo. Irrelevant to discussion, have done more than fire, owned both Steyr GSI Mannlicher & ADI AUGs etc
@HONORGUARD308 I don’t care either. The discussion is about reality, not belief. As much as anyone believes Rachel Blakely will appear in nude with an AUG, it’s not reality. Do check those 24+ countries.
Due to a loophole in import ban, the ADI were lawfully imported into US as “repair or replacement” receivers, not whole guns, years ago.
On October 20, 2010 Steyr Arms USA stopped AUG A3 production with about 1860 made for the rest of time, to keep our Austrian A1/A2 and Australian A2 happy.
Proud, at whose expense? Australians are Bastard Limey prostitute convict invaders occupiers & genocidal maniac murderers of indigenous Aborigine people & lands to this day. @IndigenousFreedom hahah lol right. well that was the british not the aussies who did that and guess what the british could have finnished the job and killed every last one of you, it was the british and other nations that gave this island everything you take for granted. also you are very wrong, taking something by force does make it yours that it the point, its harsh but its true. do not tempt us to finnish the job.
@IndigenousFreedom The indigenous (from any country) were stealing land from each other way before outside invaders. Not saying it is right just saying it is a fact. You steal something and then you own it (when it comes to territory). It's not the way it SHOULD work, but it is the way it DID and DOES work. The English did the same thing to America, the Spaniards to South America, the English to Scotland, The English to Australia again, etc... (The English are assholes, lol)
@TheXboxSmartass In reality they are assholes. I have only met about 3 people from Europe that were level-headed and/or intelligent past their own opinion of themselves.
@TheXboxSmartass Definition of Indigenous & Abo are sufficient claim to land for Abo. Organized Crime Syndicates money laundering do not make money clean. Anglo Zionist Crusaders money launder peoples & lands. Invading, committing holocaust then granting pseudo false flag independence to themselves & self legitimizing with their concocted Permanent Member UN. In a feeble hope to make things clean, forgiven & matter closed. Roman Limey Bloke Dude: are one & same Anglo Zionist Crusader in disguise
@TheXboxSmartass The definition of “aborigine” and “indigenous” in your “Anglo Zionist Crusader” language accepts these peoples are first to inhabit lands. Thus your point to contrary is invalid, moot. Murdering large portions of indigenous peoples, creating class of Quislings to be bribed with Casinos is not something new nor representative of indigenous peoples. Like any peoples, there are also Quislings to make Vichy treaties with. It may seem to “work” for the time being, but it is not final

@offroadoverdrive ok your profile says you live in the USA, go to your customs and border control office and ask them what is printed on the side of there "AUG" rifles. . it will say something along the lines of-
F88 made in Australia, lithgow land ordanance factory, Thales Australia
@liamconnolly33 IKR?? that ticks me off they're like dude im switching to the Ogg and im like dude ur stupid its A U G and theyre like no its not that ticks me off
people pronounce the FN FAL the fal instead of F-A-L even in these videos so I don't see any problem with calling it that. It's like saying a Russian can't call the PPSh-41 the PaPaShaw (this is what soviet soldiers called it during WW2)
@liamconnolly33 I hate when retards think you can't just say a abbreiviated word. Instead of saying N.A.S.A, just say National Aeronautics and Space Administration. God damn, its a fucking gun. Cause no one wants to listen to you spell out the entire alphabet.
@oneil641 You can't even spell, and who gives a shit if it's accurate on full auto fire, there are plenty of rifles that meet that criteria. There are 40 people who obviously agree with me, go be a useless fuck somewhere else because you're obviously stupid and wasting my time. I'm tired of my phone going off because dumbfucks like you keep replying to my comments with useless things to say.
@Goatoftheforest the only reason is because it was made in modern times which we wouldn't consider historic events. that and the fact that no one but austria wants to use it and no offense to austria, but c'mon, it's austria
@TaZ101SAGA hey jerry my friend i missed you man how are you now? since bin ladens death theres no more action in north caucasus plus when we russians defeated the chechen rebels in the first major battle here they began melting one by one until the death of bin laden now theyre gone
---conventionally styled firearms. The only downside is the typically longer, grittier trigger pull and issues for lefties. The trigger can typically be smoothed by using the "proper" lubricant, and/or drop on parts with no gunsmithing. The issue for lefties can be fixed with training or by using a left hand bolt if one exists for that particular firearm.
Not quite right. Bullpups do not have more recoil than conventionally styled rifles. It's about the same. They have greatly reduced muzzle flip in comparison. They push straight back into your shoulder, while your sights stay on target. This allows for faster follow up shots since you don't need to reacquire your target.
All of the bullpups I've owned have been easier to break down for cleaning than my conventional rifles/carbines, and have been just as accurate and reliable as the
Average accuracy? That's just because americans and some other nations only know non bullpup designs. A AUG A3 is just as accurate as a M16, and I would choose a AUG 9mm over a M4 in every situation.

HONORGUARD308 5 months ago

3) iv shot both rifles

@HONORGUARD308 Skip choice words and stick to lager. All 3 of your points are either irrelevant, inaccurate and or nonsensical. Of 24 countries I’ve listed, research how many of those are made in Austria. It may surprise you answer is more than the 2 you allege. Purchased a number of US Customs AUG kits in past when offered for US sale, carriers, stocks and barrels were not marked made in kangaroo. Irrelevant to discussion, have done more than fire, owned both Steyr GSI Mannlicher & ADI AUGs etc

@offroadoverdrive the F88s are not ADI made and have not being for years now, you chose to belive what ever you want i do not care
HONORGUARD308 5 months ago
@HONORGUARD308 I don’t care either. The discussion is about reality, not belief. As much as anyone believes Rachel Blakely will appear in nude with an AUG, it’s not reality. Do check those 24+ countries.
Due to a loophole in import ban, the ADI were lawfully imported into US as “repair or replacement” receivers, not whole guns, years ago.
On October 20, 2010 Steyr Arms USA stopped AUG A3 production with about 1860 made for the rest of time, to keep our Austrian A1/A2 and Australian A2 happy.

HONORGUARD308 5 months ago
@IndigenousFreedom The indigenous (from any country) were stealing land from each other way before outside invaders. Not saying it is right just saying it is a fact. You steal something and then you own it (when it comes to territory). It's not the way it SHOULD work, but it is the way it DID and DOES work. The English did the same thing to America, the Spaniards to South America, the English to Scotland, The English to Australia again, etc... (The English are assholes, lol)
TheXboxSmartass 5 months ago
@TheXboxSmartass In reality they are assholes. I have only met about 3 people from Europe that were level-headed and/or intelligent past their own opinion of themselves.
TheXboxSmartass 5 months ago
@TheXboxSmartass Definition of Indigenous & Abo are sufficient claim to land for Abo. Organized Crime Syndicates money laundering do not make money clean. Anglo Zionist Crusaders money launder peoples & lands. Invading, committing holocaust then granting pseudo false flag independence to themselves & self legitimizing with their concocted Permanent Member UN. In a feeble hope to make things clean, forgiven & matter closed. Roman Limey Bloke Dude: are one & same Anglo Zionist Crusader in disguise
DoNotForgiveOrForget 5 months ago in playlist Second 10
@TheXboxSmartass The definition of “aborigine” and “indigenous” in your “Anglo Zionist Crusader” language accepts these peoples are first to inhabit lands. Thus your point to contrary is invalid, moot. Murdering large portions of indigenous peoples, creating class of Quislings to be bribed with Casinos is not something new nor representative of indigenous peoples. Like any peoples, there are also Quislings to make Vichy treaties with. It may seem to “work” for the time being, but it is not final

people pronounce the FN FAL the fal instead of F-A-L even in these videos so I don't see any problem with calling it that. It's like saying a Russian can't call the PPSh-41 the PaPaShaw (this is what soviet soldiers called it during WW2)

@oneil641 You can't even spell, and who gives a shit if it's accurate on full auto fire, there are plenty of rifles that meet that criteria. ---conventionally styled firearms. The only downside is the typically longer, grittier trigger pull and issues for lefties. The trigger can typically be smoothed by using the "proper" lubricant, and/or drop on parts with no gunsmithing. The issue for lefties can be fixed with training or by using a left hand bolt if one exists for that particular firearm.
andygoldusa 8 months ago
@fear606
