@nanaforiod because illegal immigrants are costing this country. They can buy land which is illegal, receive benefits from states and on the federal level, medical (hospitals have to treat you even if you can't pay.) Plus other things and that is what is going to bring this country down. There is a reason why we have quota's on immigration.
@keaton1895 Actually they can't buy land... without some sort of documentation. They can rent apartments and buy products but they cannot buy land. To get medical benefits you need to give a bunch of information that an illegal immigrant would not have.
@keaton1895 If they get to the point where they can buy businesses then they are probably gonna be a benefit to our economy. If you think of all the citizens who couldn't afford to buy and entire company if an illegal immigrant is able to do that then more power to him. In fact, deport some of the ne'er do wells that populate the drugs trafficking/distribution population of America before deporting a success story like that.
Alabama just discovered they won't have a labor pool they can exploit. Immigrant labor especially undocumented workers are like slaves you don't have to pay them if you don't want to. It's all about money folks.
@Twostones00 That is not actually what a slave is... I don't have to pay a taxi driver if I don't want to, doesn't make him a slave. It just makes him a guy I took advantage of because he expected payment after providing me with a service.
Illegal or not whether you pay them or not is pretty much up to you the only difference is that in one situation the law tends to ignore the side of the victim if he is not a citizen of America or if his job was not guaranteed by some sort of legal agreement.
@Twostones00 How are they slaves if they get payed? The whole point of slavery is that the labor is not only free but forced upon the worker. For example volunteer firemen aren't slaves even though they don't get paid (similarly soup kitchen workers and college basketball players).
My point? They are not forced to work in a situation with little or no pay and they choose whom they work for, though their decision to immigrate illegally has a lot to do with the types of jobs available to them.
For the purpose of the present Convention, the following definitions are agreed upon:
(1) Slavery is the status or condition of a person over whom any or all of the powers attaching to the right of ownership are exercised. 1926 Slavery Convention as ratified by the League of Nations
@Bozewani This has not changed my argument in the slightest. There is nothing in here that in any way opposes my previous argument or "definition" of slavery, so why is this being used in response to my post?
@nanaforiod you are a head up your ass american voter. You need a fact check. your mis informed by your dumb racist corporate paid to brainwash you fox news. Type fox lies on youtube idiot.
Why are they having second thoughts? Them lazy ass rednecks finally figured out they are not going to have nobody to work as their maids and gardeners for .50cents an hour any more.

Why didn't they interview the companies and their reasons for leaving Alabama? Is it they knew they would be hiring illegals/ lower wages?

Serves you right... At least they now see some sort of consequence for their over-action

@nanaforiod Well they do because of a 9 digit number that they got from the Bush years. And banks will use that to loan them money to buy houses etc.
