I'm almost at the end of my ancient VHS copy of Pride and Prejudice for a about the 50th time! It's so wonderful. It's funny that Jennifer has a very English accent here but at US award shows she's very American! She probably slips in and out of both depending on where she is!

Ah I can't think about PnP without mentioning the pond! Mr Darcy is just the perfect man!

I looked several times and can not see where Colin was sitting that close to her. Besides i'm sure the camera would have shot over to him when she thanked him. This movie was just to huge at the time and their so called romance - i'm sure the camera would have captured him better. If this is the same BAFTA ceremony and I think it is - when Emma Thompson won hers - Colin was sitting pretty much in the front row - the camera zoomed in on him before Emma was named.

Colin Firth was himself a nominee for Best Television Actor at this ceremony. (He lost out to Robbie Coltrane.) His seating position was clearly shown - I'll add the clip soon.
