this is the only best ATI card which demolished Nvidia 6800ultra at launch. But only drawback is it has only Shader model 2.0. But the best ATI card i've seen. Being a nvidia buyer i'm honest in what i saw in reviews this card actually crushed its competitors at launch
My old system was an ATI X850XT paired with an AMD Athlon FX 53. It was a fast machine. Now i have an Intel Core 2 Quad 3.6GHZ with Dual EVGA 8800GT SuperClocked GPU's overclocked to 700/1850/2.2ghz which makes each of them faster than the 8800GTX. My new system rocks, but i still can say the X850XT was an amazing GPU and kicked the pants off of Nvidia's 6800 Ultra with ease.
When I bought my ATI X850XT Platinum Edition- i paid like $549.99 for it. Of course it was the fastest graphics card on the market at the time- but it was well worth it. Its funny how it still can play todays top end games.
Now i have an Intel Core 2 Quad 3.4GHZ, Dual 8800GT's SuperClocked in SLI running at: 735mhz Core/1850mhz Shaders/2.2GHZ Memory.
They're both running faster than dual 8800GTX's would. Thats matched with 4Gigs of Corsair Dominator X memory, Dual 500Gb Hard Drives in Raid-0, and an EVGA 780i Tri-SLi motherboard housed in an Antec 900 Rev. 2.0 Water Cooling ready Case. I run everything including games at 1680X1050 on a 22" High Definition PiP WideScreen LCD paired with a 19" HD WideScreen LCD.
I had the amazing ATI X850 XT in my previous gaming system. It was the best video card i ever had. When i bought it, it cost $549.99 and was the fastest GPU on the planet. I matched it with an AMD Athlon FX-53, 4Gb ECC Memory, Asus SK8N Nforce-150 Motherboard. It was the fastest computer money could buy back when it was all brand new. Hell it still plays most of todays games on Medium to high. It still maxes out Call of Duty 4 at 1280X1024. I have a new Intel Quad Core rig now of course.

x850xt is card like 8600 gt....only that is 8xxx radeon cards are too old and not SM 3.0 compactible....so i think if you set shaders to high.......it would make too many glitches

x850 xt avg: 80fps

yea, it took nvidia 1 year to catch up to the x850xt performance with 7800gs which was released one year later.
