  • There sleeper trains from london to scotland are bit longer and rooms are wider length ways yet I haven't been on it but by looking at the website and videos on here they longer than one you went on. To me amtrak should really look at sleeper cabins like u have said and review on how increase room without losing customers to make room on journeys especially on how big the US is. From Dan Uk

  • Hi. I'm 6 foot 6 inches tall. I'm considering a train journey across America and I was just wondering how big is the beds? I'm guessing I won't be able to stretch out fully but is there enough room for a comfortable nights sleep?

  • the lower berths in a roomette are 2'6'' x 6'6". i hope u didnt get this info to late.

  • Thanks for the info, much appreciated. And no, it's not too late.

  • The economy sleepers (there are no more "roomettes"), is very comfortable at night. The bottom bunks are actually larger than the bunks in the bedrooms!

  • Shit, I just booked this exact same roomette for my trip to Chicago in November. How incredibly neat that someone posted a video of it online. Thanks! :)
