Teacher Facing Assault Charge for Alleged Spanking

1 last comment I don`t care how many times a kid messes up some kids are just naughtier than others & some kids it takes longer to learn a lesson than others. What I care about is their attitude. If they mess up, will they submit to authority or do they get in the teacher`s face & refuse to submit? If they refuse, then they belong in school. Send them home for the parents to put up with.

I thought about what you said some more & I disagree w/1 big pt & that is you said if you were Pres. & this girl messed up again she`d be sent to military school for a long time. I strongly disagree w/the idea that gov. or a Pres. has the pwr to make such decisions. That is TOO much pwr over indiv. freedoms & lives for any Pres. to have. Such pwr could too easily be abused. I think only parents

@paisleyyama cont. should have the right to make these decisions for their kids or if a kid commits a real crime then a jdg can make that decision but teachers, CPS, gov., etc. shouldn`t have this pwr in their hands. But teachers do need the pwr to exert discipline & if a student refuses to submit to classroom authority then the student can be expelled until they are willing to submit.

@mrbubetube When I was disrespectful in school they had a "Special paddle" for our type it had holes drilled in it and offenses had a certain number of whacks.If you made 3 such violations you were suspended for 3 days.I got a 10 whack offense then my dad dragged me up on the school auditorium stage with all the students in there and gave me 20 more.

I graduated honor role,when into trade school and became a pipefitter.My kids tow the line!

I went to the Catholic Schools from 1960 through 1966. If any student ever put their feet up on a desk the nuns would make sure they would be picking their teeth off the floor. They would physically have knocked the crap out of them after which they would verbally humiliate them for a week or two about it

These parents should thank the teacher for doing their dirty work. If my son was acting that obnoxious in school & the teacher whipped him into shape I`d thank the teacher & if my son complained I`d tell him he deserved it. In the case of the girl, she probably never would`ve given the teacher a prob. again if the parents had backed up the teacher. Now she`ll be a terror & teacher will lose all respect.

When I was in school kids were told if you get paddled at school you can expect the same when you get home. They paddled K-12 BUT I saw few ppl actually get paddled b/c they knew the consequences. Detention is nothing, but a paddle will get kids attention fast. My old school still paddles & they have no drugs, violence, metal detectors, or security guards just like when I was in school decades ago.

I went to a private prep school from K thru 12 back in the 70's and 80's and yes spanking was allowed lol but I was only spanked like when I was like 8 lol. At my school kids knew what was right and what was wrong cause most people had good parents back then and taught them well.

well mr president parenting has gone right down the tubes in large parts of britain & it all goes back to when they stopped caning in school back when i was in primary school in the early 80's. we still got smacked then but that soon went out the window & if any kid got smacked now the teacher would probably wind up in jail.
