Thank you for the sound bite mate, although you could have dropped the audio (in Post) when removing and adding the dead cat.All in all worth watching.
@madsad1112 yes it is,all you need is a "AA Battery" and an XLR to 3.5mm (1/8") TRS Plug , Job Done...sound quality on the other hand will depend on your sound cards internal preamp.
@frosty470 Plug in the Phantom Power (48V) from your camera, mixer or seperate 48V.PSU,the other option is the 1.5V AA Battery, there is no actual switch ,the mic is live when any of these power sources are applied.I hope this helps.
hey. i been thinking of buying the Zoom H4N...and i was looking for a good mic to buy. and o, my one question is...is it easy connecting the XLR wires between the Zoom H4N and the Rode NTG 2? ...that thought has been nagging away at me for hours. and are you recording sound..and video seperate from each other? then you sync it together later in post? is that how that works?. if yes...that actually doesnt sound to hard. sounds fun.
@shapman87 This is probably coming a little late but the Rode NTG2 is easy to hook up to the H4N and the nice thing is you can use either battery power from the mic or phantom power from the h4n, although phantom power gets you a louder signal it also eats up the batteries of the h4n so something to consider. if you are just getting the mic for voice over work i got a cheap pre amp from guitar center for 30 bucks and an adapter to go right into line in on my computer and sounds amazing.
For this specific Video, we used a cheap little USB to mini-jack interface, but are currently starting to do work using the Zoom H4N, an audio interface / recorder that lets us record directly from XLR to four discrete channels.
To test this microphone so near from your mouth is not a test but a bullshit.
