  • Hi, nice tutorial. Can you explain, what is the advantage to making the original shard using a mask rather than cutting it out, or making a shard in photoshop first? Is there an advantage or is it just personal preference? Thanks.

  • thanks

  • thank you bro

  • Great tutorial but could you perhaps make a new version where you clearly speak the numbers and where you go for them such as Mask properties or behaviors and such?

  • @DualShock1080P Thanks for the feedback. I will probably not remake this one but I will take account of that for future tutorials.

  • i got up to bezier, when i click the mask button no masks come down to select WTF PLEASE HELP

  • @boxxay11 Not sure exactly what is going on without more info but you must select a layer that the mask will apply to or it might not let you do it. Also, you may have something disabled which shows you the mask outline - that happened to me once, I accidentally hit a shortcut cut that turned off a feature I was using and confused the hell out of me for a while.

  • just sum thngs i wanst clearon like when you traced around the ice block the the rest just disappaerd didnt understand how you did that u didnt explain how just keep that piece you traced and erased the rest

  • @MrRaydabarber If you put a mask on a layer, it shows only what is inside the mask. Outside the mask, it will show what if behind the mask on the layer below. That may be nothing of course if there is nothing behind it.

  • NEED TO BE MORE DETAIL

  • @MrRaydabarber What like the amount of detail in your comment? ;)

  • Hey John. I have made it up to where you cut the ice shard out of the image. When i use the bezier tool, it turns the shard white, instead of the actual color. Thanks

  • @philmichaeljones Are you by any chance creating a bezier shape which would be solid white as default instead of a bezier mask? I sometimes make that mistake and use the wrong tool.

  • @philmichaeljones If you have a shape instead, you can convert it into a mask, right click on the shape layer and choose convert to mask.

  • very good you just inspired me thanks for the tutorial

  • I can't wait to see your new upcoming tutorials, tks~~
