I was there that year when this happened. Sally was actually trying to separate herself from Edy Williams through the advice from her publicist. Just one year before (and I was there then too) Sally teamed up with Edy on the red carpet for a photo op. The two of them glammed, posed, and mugged together for anyone that would take their picture. Seems she was told a "serious actress" should not put herself on the same level as a Russ Meyer B- actress.
that was hilarious! I'm sure Sally used to party with Edy at back in the day--now that's she's a nominee here she doesn't know her.
