Well, I think he was trying to disable the squad cars engine but he wasn't moving fast enough.. you need the other car less then three car lengths behind you at high speed then slam on the brakes. with any luck you have destroyed the police cars engine and you can limp your car away at low speed and ditch it. atleast thats the tactic.

Trial and Error says that he shouldn't have rammed that police car. All it does is make the police MORE aggressive and harder to evade...Plus you get more charges and go 2 Prison for Assault. :( At that point every cop in the next several counties came to the aid.
