Sihanouk was a neutralist and the coup was supported by the us,

the smoking gun so to speak was the vast military hardware given to the Lon Nol regime 2 fight communism when he came to power n the vast B52 bombing of khmer rouge stronghold.

But Lon Nol was a lousy leader and he was replaced by a former school teacher by the name of Pol Pot who was equally inept n brutal.

Before to accuse someone, u must understand what<s happen. If USA did'nt invade VN (or Indochina) by thinking USA could stop communism. Sihanouk did'nt destroy Cambodia, the USA did, by pass USA used Khmer rouge (and China) to destroy Cambodia n people. If u r a blind anticommunist, I can say to u that u a stupid.

If your r Khmer you must RElearn your history, if u r American, u mst REview the 2nd Indochina war. Have a nice day.

We, Khmers, try to accuse someone of us to make error in his decision, but The problem was not Khmers. It was the influences of Surper-puissances (one side USA-Europe, other side URSS-China). You must go with this one or other, but in both side you will be the last loser. The wost of all, some Khmers pretending pure 100% and according to theirselves the right to kill other people non pure.

Pol Pot was much worse than Hun Sen. At least Hun is more open to the outside world.

Nerdlake has a very selected memory :) , Thank to sihanouk cambodia is still remembers , it was the french who look down at the little ugly black cambodian thats why they bring all the vietnamese to work in every level of government. cambodia today is remember by beautiful monument such as angkor wat and the peaceful time of sangkum reas niyum it is becuz of khmer king .

What did you do ? Did they (VN) have to pay you for saving khmer people from khmer rouge genocide ? Did you have to pay for saving someone, or someone must pay you; at least recognize your bravour ? That's it the price of survivors.

Maybe you did'nt want VN to fight down Khmer rouge, because you were khmer rouge yourself. You loose power of killing people.

Thank to prince Sihanouk .He did a lot of things to his own people in term of economic,social,military.Frenc­h left only troublesome to Cambodia,most of government worker[teacher,nurses,office worker..]was Vietnameses.Kompong Cham rubber plantation employees was Viet.I remember that in Siemrep Grand Hotel,all workers are Vietnames until  1962 .

Why most workers in gouvernment, in rubber plantations, in Hotel were Vietnameses employees ? You've a good memory to remember that, but you are not smart enough to understand why ?
