Three years ago today, and I still feel the hole in my heart. Leroi, you are still deeply missed, but I know you, Grover Washington, Jr. and The Big Man are making some beautiful noise up there now. Everyone please do something today to keep Leroi's legacy alive.................let's keep him smiling at us, okay? Rest in peace, my man................stay strong, DMB.
i wish i was there, because this would have been one of the most emotional nights for me because Leroi was the best damn saxophonist on this Earth! I hope that the Dave Matthews Band finds another saxophonist!
There's a picture up there of DMB w/ Willie Nelson (you can't really see Willie but he's seated) Boyd told me they'd just smoked a GIGANTIC spliff with him...hahaha.
One of the greatest musicians to grace the face of our planet.. Leroi u are truly adored and missed... I shed tears when u left to greener pastures!!!
I'm thankful I was at the gorge for this..great show. RIP Leroi! The Gorge is the mos amazing place to play at, The Gorge + the river + starry night and perfect weather + DMB = nothing better
what happenned to the black guy that played the flute? i saw them on tv a few weeks ago and he wasn't there. probably went solo to make more money. I heard he was Dave's meth hookup, so maybe they had a falling out over some bad drugs. anyway, does he have a website? i think his name was larry or something like that.

When I was the announcer for the Brockton Rox, we would play #34 every night as the crowd exited the ballpark. I never thought I'd hear the song in this manner. As a fellow sax player, I'll never forget you LeRoi. Enjoy jamming with Jimi, Kurt, Bonzo and Lennon......God Bless.
a beautiful tribute to a beautiful player and a great man - ever so sad - but what a life - playing the songs you love with the people you love, to people who love you - for 20 years -
Thanks for posting this video. I was there for this and will never forget the sense of shared grief in a crowd of thousands. We were crying and cheering at the same time.
i went to 3 shows last year, looking forward to seeing Leroi, but then heard he was in the hospital. then later, i found out he past away and i was so heart broken. i'm a DMB fanatic. they are amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i love them, i love them, i love them. but there was something about Leroi i loved so deeply. DMB will always remain an incredible band, but it'll never be the same without Leroi. RIP Leroi. love you man!
well there is one thing that is certain...we will never forget the impact Leroi Moore had on us, and music, unlike those ignorant Grammy folks...ROI will live on here forever
i can't stop crying as i watch this.i have been in love w/D.M.B. for over 12 years, seen them live 8 times.R.I.P. ROIit won't be the same w/out you in Vegas5/8/09
If anyone has ever been to the Gorge...it's such a natural scenic breath taking beautiful place....the sky is wide...the river gorge canyons create this natural appeasing ampitheatre. The acosutics is heaven....truly full of a sense of mystical spirit..I am sure ...no, I KNOW LeRoi...will make that trek to jam with the band as long as they do their thing. He will always be there in that place in a sense. YOU WILL ALWAYS BE AN IMPORTANT ELEMENT OF DMB.... R.I.P.
Our boy, Leroi! he will surely be missed! it's still hard to believe that in the blink of an eye he is gone. We enjoyed his sax here on earth, now the angels in heaven are enjoying the beautiful music, i'm jealous!
From all that I've read and heard, here was one of the greatest people around. Hearing his sax was one of the sweetest things in the world. It could bring you from wanting to jump out of your seat to putting you down on a bed and crying. Just amazing... love him.
I heard #34 was a jam dmb used to play with a good friend. when the friend died, dave never sang it in front of fans, except on rare live occasions (so i heard somewhere). fitting intro if this is the case. nobody can replace leroi. rip.
WOW...INCREADIBLE...what an increadible human being of a man he must have been, for he shined not only through music but as a human being.
...and he will always shine~on...right there on stage left no matter whos standing in there he'll always be there in the shadows of our minds, hearts and we'll feel him in our souls.
Yes, this was the day I was there!!!!!!!! Kicked ass, I liked the 20 minute session of glow stick throwing haha and it couldn't of been a more perfect night, fuckin gorgeous out stars shinin, mathews was tearin it up and it was one damn good atmosphere!!!!! RIP LEROI!
