I thought that you acctually hated 10 things about the Dark Knight and i was gonna dislike the video but then i heard part of the trailer so i listened to that part
@TheBronzeManiac You were gonna dislike the video without even watching it, just because you thought this guy hated 10 things about TDK, there are more than 10 things that are wrong about TDK
Wow when I first saw the title, I thought it'd somebody actually talking about why they hate The Dark Knight. However, I was corrected. Very well put together, by the way.
I loved the Dark Knight, but I have to agree it would have better if they had saved Harvey's transformation for the next movie and in the whole Joker hanging upside down scene I was expecting him to whip out a knife and cut the line. Plus I agree on the fanboys - I read positive reviews that said something about the ending being too long that caused fanboys to flip out because the reviewer said the film was less than perfect.
this is in reference to your comments on The Dark Knight. there was no Wayne Manor because it got burned down in the first one, they also reference the new one being built so we may see the new Wayne Manor in the next film. Yea it would have been nice to have the same Rachel for continuity purposes, but Maggie was a better Rachel anyway so i cant complain about that one. the Scarecrow wasnt the main villian in the firts one, he was a pawn of Ra's al Ghul so it makes sense for him to be caught
For the purposes of creating the sense of the film existing in the same world as the first one though, I just wish they had kept Wayne Manor. I doubt anyone would have questioned it had it been rebuilt again. Especially if they're going to bring it back in the third film, then Dark Knight would just seem like the odd-one-out.
@cj397 I don't think anyone would have complained too much if they had finished rebuilding it by the second one. They don't specifically say how much time has passed.
I do enjoy Batman Begins a little more because it felt a lot darker I dislike the first hour of the dark knight i find it boring until the joker starts doing stuff which is after 60 minutes
I hope not. I love Levitt as much as the next man, but not for Spider-Man. He doesn't want to get stuck in that perpetual state of youth that Claire Danes and Tobey Maguire and Christina Ricci have been stuck in their whole careers. It doesn't seem like the kind of role he'd go for anyway.
so far he is the best bet consdering mark webb will be the next director.......but i'm hoping for Anton Yelchin. that dude would be awesome if he can bulk up a bit. also doesn't hurt that he's russian lol. But Levitt is getting pretty big he's in the next Nolan film, Inception which is my bet for best film of 2010
Webb as director is a great choice, but I don't think Levitt will play Spiderman. Firstly, I don't think he would want to (his careers choices have pretty much stayed away from the mainstream), secondly I don't think he or the producers or the public would think he can convincingly play a high-school kid. I bet they go for an unknown.
I really like Anton Yelchin, thought he was great as Kyle Reese in Terminator and I'm sure he'd make a good Peter Parker but I don't think he should take the part. I like the Spiderman movies but I think anyone who gets stuck as the main character in a franchise this early in their career is in trouble - especially since he's already in two (Star Trek and Terminator).
I agree with you about all of it. You hate it for all the same reasons I do. I don't think Scarecrow was all that good in the first one though. He didn't get hardly any costume time, and they really should have introduced him a little better. He should look something like he did in Arkham Asylum if they bring him back. In fact, I think they should make a movie out of that.
But in Rachel's defense, they were going to bring back the same actress, but she was pregnant at the time.
Dude the manor is destroyed. it will come back on the Third Movie I think. it suck but they must respect the Scenario of the First movie. maybe there is 3 years between the 2 movies, in the lore, its less than a Year. and a Huge manor like that take more than a year to build.
the rest is fine except how Dent became Two-Face, i Liked that.
Begins is Nicer than Dark Knight, but Ledger Performance make it totally nicer.
I hate how everyone wanted the Joker to die because heath ledger died. The whole point of the movie was that Batman wouldn't kill Joker, and their battles will go on forever, ( true that now they can't go on forever, but they shouldn't have changed the enire ending for that )
I also hate how much crap this two-face gets. Okay, so he doesn't look a thing like he did in the comics and he's the most un-realistic part of the movie. Same thing with Scarecrow in Batman Begins. But both were great
@batmanagent008 Actually there are some versions of two-face that look a lot like what they did. The missing eyelids actually reminded me of the old 90s cartoon version of two face. Also while the exposed muscles were a little over the top the cgi effect had realism in that it took away flesh instead of adding it.
@WhenYouveGoneGuru that is true. I personally liked two-face's look. I also thought the way they showed the teeth was reminisant of the animated series, even if he looked more like Jonah Hex. Also, now that I've read Batman The Long Halloween, I see where they got some of the inspiration from.
This is great, I hate that Batman Begins doesnt get the recognition that The Dark Knight got, I think both were amazing. But I think I like Batman Begins more.
OK I'll give u the 2-face one he should have been in the next film. personly i think (just my opinion)it will be catwoman in the next 1 becouse batman lost his love interest
1. Batman still spent the majority of the first film struggling against the Scarecrow, but now he's just a comic relief villain disposed of in 5 minutes.
2. The whole Gotham City changing thing was a minor point, it still bugged me though. I wanted some aesthetic consistency, especially since they didn't have Wayne Manor in it this time.
3. Yeah I know Joker had to survive, and again that's just me wanting some kind of satisfying narrative conclusion even when the film is supposed to be open-ended. They could have had Joker dying in a way that wasn't Batman's fault, so that Bruce Wayne can be tormented that he broke his rule, but we know that he didn't really.
4. I just think the Two Face arc should be saved for a whole separate film. You can't just shove that into 15 minutes at the end and expect it to work, it's too quick.
actually, they have stated that since heath ledger is gone, the joker will not appear in any future batman films. same thing with two face. they did say for the next film, the villians would be the riddler and penguin. and there are rumors going around that they're considering having johnny depp as the riddler.
Yeah Joker was proving a point to Batman and that's why he didn't die, but the film was willing to overlook other narrative points. For example:
"do I really look like a guy with a plan?" Yes, actually you do Joker, a pretty elaborate plan involving putting bombs in thugs' stomachs, making sure they get arrested, then also getting yourself arrested so that you can break out with a fellow prisoner and then have your men kidnap the District Attorney. An extremely elaborate plan, in fact.
Clever. And i agree with most of your points. I think Harvey should've survived but as defo as Two-Face. The Joker shouldn't die though, they can just stick him up in Arkham. And also, i didn't get that it was ever really the Scarecrow at the start till someone told me. That seems pretty dumb. But altogether, TDK was DEFINATLY better than Batman Begins in my point of view ^.^
lmao i love the part where harvey is saying you either die the hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villian and the guy holds up those two pictures of him in white and black. kinda reminds me of the animated series two face.
Heaths best movies are 10 things i hate about you, Castanova, The Patriot(probably my favorite),A Knights Tale(probably my favorite again), The Brothers Grimm, Lords of Dogtown, The Dark Knight(one of my favorites again), and Im Not There.
"You're Alfred right?" was my favourite bit. I absolutely love the Dark Knight but I do understand why it does not appeal to some. I abosolutely enjoyed the hilarious edits you did, splicing two of Heath's best films together!
holy crap you are right on a thing or two. the ending was a little rushed, I wanted Two-Face to be in the third one, scare crow didn't play a big part in the second as much as in the first.....penis lol
i agree, i think they should have included scarecrow more, he was in it for like one minute! i personally liked the new gotham city, much nicer (Y) & i think if joker died it would have been all wrong, cause it would have only been good if batman killed him but then joker would win cuase batman would have broken his one rule, if you get me? :L but that just my opinion :)
how is it that you can be so sure? is it possible that you were infact in the mind of every single person as they watched the dark knight? i personally WAS rooting for the joker. because he's sexy and whatnot.
You hate the fact that Rachel had a different face??? That's one of the best things about "The Dark Knight"! Katie Holmes was one of the worst Batman girls ever, extremely dull and phoney, only an idiot would buy her as a strong character. Thank God Chris Nolan noticed that and got a real woman to play Rachel in the sequel, the wonderful Maggie Gyllenhaal.
You don't like the movie? Fine, what's the problem with that?
I like Maggie Gyllenhaal fine, and clearly she's a better actress than Katie Holmes, but just the fact that it was a different actress distracted me. Maybe they should have just not had Rachel be in the film? They could easily have had her leaving after the first film.
However, I do think that Holmes gets a bad rap for her performance. Gyllenhaal is a better actress, but even she couldn't do much with the part. She's not particularly better than Katie Holmes was in the film.
Of course Gyllenhaal is better than Holmes. And I'm not even talking about performances here, you know, there are lovely dolls that can try playing a strong character and make everyone laugh at their effort, and there are real actresses that can play a strong character and make it believable. The role is not that great, but Holmes was obviously a bad casting choice and Gyllenhaal was a good casting choice. Nolan corrected his mistake and that's a good thing no matter what.
We are talking about BATMAN, here. The hero. Throughout the whole movie, people were rooting for the Joker, the villain. It pisses you off when Batman gets a hit in, loL. Thats not the way Batman should be.
People weren't rooting for Joker. Its more like everyone was just excited to see him back in a Batman movie. I mean come on, he is the greatest supervillain of all time! I know it felt like Batman wasn't getting enough attention, but we all know that everyone loves Batman. Its just that we've been seeing a lot of him lately and its been a long time since we've seen the Joker. I'm glad he lived to fight another day while getting the last laugh. It was just like back in the day.
Dude every superhero fan knows that you can never say that any character is the greatest villain. You can do that stuff with heroes but not villains. The Joker is funny and whatnot but Carnage could kill him in a matter of seconds.
It's not a matter of which villain would win in a fight ManiacRaider. Carnage is more powerful, yes, but people are more interested in the Joker because the build of his character is on the same complex level as Batman's. I think you'll find that 9 out of 10 people will agree with me when I say that the Joker is more popular when compared to the rest of Batman's foes and almost every other supervillain known.
Not saying that you are no entitled to your own opinion :)
xD I was totally rooting for The Joker! I mean, I'd be glad that if someone like The Joker existed, someone like Batman would be there to counter him. But if I picked a side... I'd be a Joker hench before I put on a bat suit... or die trying. I totally agree with the living thing. That drove me crazy in Burton's version. (Not that it was great in it's own right) Joker NEVER dies... if he supposedly does, he always comes back. I say Batman;s the greatest hero, and Joker's the best villain - ever.
Nice trailer mash-up. I missed Wayne Manor too, but that's about the only point I agree with you on. I thought both Rachel's were bad. Happy she exploded. There were rumors Rachel McAdams would play her. She would have been better.
I would think the dark knight is great but seems missed the point that the movie is about batman,it turned out that it's all about the joker and then suddenly they rushed it with batman winning and the joker get caught.
There is no way of doing a Batman vs. Joker film without Joker being more dominant, since he is an extreme extrovert and Batman is introvert. In fact, one thing I really respected about The Dark Knight is how they kept the focus on Batman the whole way through. The entire point of The Joker's existence in the movie was to taunt Batman, rather than him having a more general "take over Gotham" plan and Batman just having to stop him (like Burton's version).
dude you like read my mind like exactly. like the dark knight was good, but batman begins was so much better, like so much its unbelievable. & scarecrow was like amazing in the 1st one, & then they ruined him in the 2nd one. & the fact that rachael & harvey died was lame. & the atmostphere of the movie overall just wasnt the same as the 1st one. & all my friends tell me how wrong i am, but like you said "people may not agree, but they're wrong" =]
Funny concept, and good points on The Dark Knight. It's not a 'masterpiece' by a long shot, but it IS in blockbuster terms and a definite improvement over its predecessor. TDK is infinitely more engaging to the mass audience, which can only be a good thing when crafting a summer action adventure. Many will now go back and watch Batman Begins beause of The Dark Knight.
Yeah but I don't see how anyone can really appreciate The Dark Knight without seeing Batman Begins. I know everyone knows the Batman mythology, but the themes that Nolan himself dealt with, such as economic decline and poverty etc. definately enhance the story of The Dark Knight, but those themes are introduced in Batman Begins, so anyone who has only seen Dark Knight and not its predecessor won't really be able to properly appreciate it.
lol well actually i woz one of da few ppl hu had batman begins n i actually lyked it every else though it waz crap lol im sayin this now coz i watch batman begins yesturday n it is pretty sweet!! o yeah n i didnt comment bout this video its soo good "good evening ladies and gentlemen" woz soo good
I liked The Dark Knight too. I saw it a couple of times at the cinema and have it on DVD, I just don't think it's above criticism like some people seem to think. It isn't absolutely perfect in every way, and the fact that people don't want to hear any negative words against it makes me more inclined to point out the problems it has.
Yeah I knew that you probably don´t hate the dark knight but that you just wanted to point out it´s flaws. I really liked Batman as a kid but now i this movie the Joker was so much cooler. It´s thanks to Heath that this movie was Awesome. Maybe the Joker should have died in the end and maybe it ended to fast.
ha ha ha ha, I LOVE the video!! Completely disagreed with everything you wrote in the info box, but that's just my opinion. The music over the old clips worked perfectly, kudos.
Haha, after seeing 10 Things I Hate About You and Dark Knight, my sister commented that actors tend to play similar roles in most movies, but the ONE thing that was similar between Heath Ledger's character in these two movies is his HAIR.
At 0:55 the whole "Don't make me your only hope etc." part fitted so well! And the end, it seems like he actually says everything Alfred said :D Love the video!

funny video, but some food for thought:
scarcrow wasnt main villian but some punk working for the main villian
gotham changed cuz most of Begins took place in the Narrows, and crime was rampant. different location, less crime
if joker died he would have won, duh, that was the point, he wanted batman to kill
if harvey hadn't died, joker would have still won, cuz harvey would be corrupted. his death, and batman taking the blame, sealed the Joker's loss
i know you may not agree, but you're wrong ;)

awesome video :]
i agree, i think they should have included scarecrow more, he was in it for like one minute! i personally liked the new gotham city, much nicer (Y) & i think if joker died it would have been all wrong, cause it would have only been good if batman killed him but then joker would win cuase batman would have broken his one rule, if you get me? :L but that just my opinion :)

I liked it better then the first one, but you do have good points.

"People weren't rooting for Joker"
how is it that you can be so sure? is it possible that you were infact in the mind of every single person as they watched the dark knight? i personally WAS rooting for the joker. because he's sexy and whatnot.
this video was pure lolz, btw.

ClaraDarko 2 years ago
I like Maggie Gyllenhaal fine, and clearly she's a better actress than Katie Holmes, but just the fact that it was a different actress distracted me. Maybe they should have just not had Rachel be in the film? They could easily have had her leaving after the first film.
However, I do think that Holmes gets a bad rap for her performance. Gyllenhaal is a better actress, but even she couldn't do much with the part. She's not particularly better than Katie Holmes was in the film.
jackk2786 2 years ago
Of course Gyllenhaal is better than Holmes. And I'm not even talking about performances here, you know, there are lovely dolls that can try playing a strong character and make everyone laugh at their effort, and there are real actresses that can play a strong character and make it believable. The role is not that great, but Holmes was obviously a bad casting choice and Gyllenhaal was a good casting choice. Nolan corrected his mistake and that's a good thing no matter what.

I agree with every one of your dislikes.
We are talking about BATMAN, here. The hero. Throughout the whole movie, people were rooting for the Joker, the villain. It pisses you off when Batman gets a hit in, loL. Thats not the way Batman should be.
Myownpickle 2 years ago
People weren't rooting for Joker. Its more like everyone was just excited to see him back in a Batman movie. I mean come on, he is the greatest supervillain of all time! I know it felt like Batman wasn't getting enough attention, but we all know that everyone loves Batman. Its just that we've been seeing a lot of him lately and its been a long time since we've seen the Joker. I'm glad he lived to fight another day while getting the last laugh. It was just like back in the day.
Stonewall3000 2 years ago 3
Dude every superhero fan knows that you can never say that any character is the greatest villain. You can do that stuff with heroes but not villains. The Joker is funny and whatnot but Carnage could kill him in a matter of seconds.
ManicRaider 2 years ago
It's not a matter of which villain would win in a fight ManiacRaider. Carnage is more powerful, yes, but people are more interested in the Joker because the build of his character is on the same complex level as Batman's. I think you'll find that 9 out of 10 people will agree with me when I say that the Joker is more popular when compared to the rest of Batman's foes and almost every other supervillain known.
Not saying that you are no entitled to your own opinion :)
Stonewall3000 2 years ago
xD I was totally rooting for The Joker! I say Batman;s the greatest hero, and Joker's the best villain - ever.

and Heath Ledger is still the best Joker :D

Nice trailer mash-up. I missed Wayne Manor too, but that's about the only point I agree with you on. I thought both Rachel's were bad. Happy she exploded. There were rumors Rachel McAdams would play her. She would have been better.
FowlPrey12 2 years ago
I would think the dark knight is great but seems missed the point that the movie is about batman,it turned out that it's all about the joker and then suddenly they rushed it with batman winning and the joker get caught.
TWL012 2 years ago
There is no way of doing a Batman vs. Joker film without Joker being more dominant, since he is an extreme extrovert and Batman is introvert. In fact, one thing I really respected about The Dark Knight is how they kept the focus on Batman the whole way through. The entire point of The Joker's existence in the movie was to taunt Batman, rather than him having a more general "take over Gotham" plan and Batman just having to stop him (like Burton's version).
jackk2786 2 years ago
I just think she's ugly. I don't like Katie that much.

dude you like read my mind like exactly. like the dark knight was good, but batman begins was so much better, like so much its unbelievable.

Many will now go back and watch Batman Begins beause of The Dark Knight.
lylexf 2 years ago
Yeah but I don't see how anyone can really appreciate The Dark Knight without seeing Batman Begins. I know everyone knows the Batman mythology, but the themes that Nolan himself dealt with, such as economic decline and poverty etc. definately enhance the story of The Dark Knight, but those themes are introduced in Batman Begins, so anyone who has only seen Dark Knight and not its predecessor won't really be able to properly appreciate it.

I liked The Dark Knight too. I saw it a couple of times at the cinema and have it on DVD, I just don't think it's above criticism like some people seem to think. It isn't absolutely perfect in every way, and the fact that people don't want to hear any negative words against it makes me more inclined to point out the problems it has.
jackk2786 3 years ago
