I remember this commercial. It wasn't banned here in the US. The Stooges still have a strong following here. I suspect the Uploader listed it as "BANNED" to get us to watch it to increase his number of "hits" no pun intended here. My reasoning is if it truly was banned at some point wouldn't the UL list when and why or in what country? I really dispise misrepresentation on uploads, in general. In any case, gotta love those guys they were physical comic geniuses,.
@zeke2244 Hi Zeke. The info I have is the Mastercard "Priceless" campaign began in 1997 with the superbowl. I couldn't find out whether the Stooges ad was aired during the Superbowl but I think it was. Pretty much anything goes for the "Bowl" and then the "moral" majority shouts down the "a-moral" minority and ads like this get, shall we say, less air time? I suspect the "A-moral" minority were just partying and forgot to poke the moral majority in the eyes. Nyuknyuknyuk!!!
It ironic that some have a problem with the stooges considering all the sex, vulgarity, nudity, and gore that has become commonplace on TV nowadays...
Not "banned", but pulled from their regular airing. The commercial was made a LOoooooong time ago, and was replaced by other takes on their priceless theme.
I don't think this was banned and to ban it would be stupid. The Stooges are violent but are they shooting guns, covered in bloody, blowing up skulls, etc? No, so to ban this for the violence, it's like banning a cartoon. The Stooges were basically a live action cartoon.
Damn censors. They don't know what the hell they are doing. First of all, most of the younger generation probably won't even pay attention to this commercial since it is in black and white. They need to see color. And second, there is way too much sexual and heavy violence references in commercials today. The Stooges were quite tame by comparison.
Hey! Why don't they ban tings like "HARRY LOVES LISA"? Who the hell cares about this fish-mouth getting her lips reduced and her has-been husband Harry Hamlin just sitting there hitting his peek as an "actor"? *LOL*
"I'm poisoned!!!" lmfao

Certainly it is not banned, not in the States anyway, where the Stooges can play freely as it is. (AMC every Saturday night 12am Eastern)

why was this banned?
faulisdead 2 years ago
probably because little kids might try to act it out at home with their brothers and sisters.
