I have met him many times and he would jam at the "Club 400" whenever he'd visit his 100+ year old mother in Waukesha Wisconsin.

The day Les Paul was laid to rest I drove my 1930 Hot Rod Roadster to the cemetery with the epitaph... "God Speed to the Original Guitar Hero... Les Paul" painted on the decklid... Rest in Peace my friend!

Still, he doesn't need donations. His guitars are awesome, but Gibson has slipped on quality assurance in more recent years. In short, the guitars are overpriced, since they basically just sell the name. There is no shortage on money with the Les Paul name.

Well, I didn´t know him, but yesterday I saw a documentary on tv about LES PAUL, and I am very impressive about him. and I am very happy for LES PAUL has had played Aquarela do Brasil (Colours of Brazil, or just Brazil), cause I am from Brazil :) My favourite song is I REALLY DON´T WANT TO KNOW, with the unforgetable MARY FORD, that I knew just the Elvis´ version. I hope they are with GOD now...

it was an awesome show, and i got to meet him and get his autograph afterward. he was a truly gracious gentleman; razor-sharp, witty, and very friendly. i'll never forget that night. ever.

i DID weep the day he died.  my world is now a much darker place.
