  • All they gotta do is find a way to make it way cheaper and then people will start buying this instead of coffee tables.

  • This is really awesome - wish I'd seen this earlier!

  • Lovely Asian lady *lushfmlk.info*

  • What kind of proccessor does it have? Ram? Video Card?

  • is there micro sd in their cards?

  • what is the price???

  • @iNeedGanjassssssStab The price is 5000 to 10000 dollars. Its for businesses and the super rich

  • Cannot contain awesomeness of this magnitude!

  • *cough* blue table of death

  • iPad has NO Change against this technology...

  • @muniqmusiqstudios change? lol? what about learning english?

  • Yeah, and like the iPad, you can put this into your bag and go use it in libraries, cafés, or even in your car !

    Definitely comparable.

  • @muniqmusiqstudios you have no chance of learning to spell. has no change?

  • @muniqmusiqstudios change what? please consider the SIZE~a surface table can fit hundred ipad i think~

  • iPad FTW !!!

  • A big ass ipod that you can read books on, wooohooo

  • i love this i play with it

  • thats what she said

  • who invented it?

  • oh please, enough of the microsoft vs apple. its so cliche now. aren't we, as consumers, supposed to be happy that there exists increasing competition in the computer software/hardware industries? all we do is sit back, relax, enjoy the bloodshed, and get what we like best, which keeps changing because the computer market, with its fierce competition, advances at an unbelievable speed.

  • yeaaaa.. i dnt know about the "sit back" part. this peice is worth over 5000$-10k$, makes me wanna Kraii!

  • @psykick000 you do realize that its this insane customer vs customer rivalry that creates the initiative for market competition, right? They are irrevocably intertwined. Asking for one without expecting the other is ludicrous.

  • linux is the best

  • are there microsoft surfaces in the new microsoft store?

  • i hope they can get this for consumer price soon because i so want it i saw it live and it was just amazing

  • If you love Jesus, you would give me one!!!

  • what standard of 2d barcode is on the card?

  • i saw pictures of pacman on this

  • i want one !!!

  • when will these be available worldwide?

  • It's available in 14 countries to businesses. It's not available to consumers yet.

  • I dun think this will be for consumers unless you have 15K to spare. It is more of a business tool. Just like maybe, you like the POS cash register a lot, you can get it for consumers, just that it is gonna cost you as compared to buying a normal computer.

  • few more more years like 4

  • I could imagine this working in public places well but as you know more and more people are doing things from home, Like shoping on ebay or running a buisiness from home, Its taking over cable and phone cause of innovations. So exchanging buisness information? Maybe somthing a little bit more easy like a cell phone app like the apple where you can wave your phone over sombody else for contact info would be a lot better and later you can exchange pics, and messaging later! I wouldn't use it.

  • looks complicated..... watch the microsoft surface parody. it ids funny

  • cool :)

  • that tight now they have to have something like that for humans put your hand down and it reads your fingers and knows who r u cuz everyone has difference kinds of finger prints

  • People.......the future is here, as long as you have enough to pay for it.

  • Yeah, good thing it wasnt developed by Apple, it would cost twise as much.

  • but if it was developed by Apple it wuld 10x times better

  • @Entity13Productions

Much much agree, M$ sucks and just copies Apple since they made the first PC

  • how do u know they thought of the idea to make this enity13productions would apple?

  • i sayd but IF it was developed. i didint say they did thought of the idea. also this piece of shit is using a Vista OS

  • ok then

  • if its only for getting a touch version of itunes or ilife, sorry, no thanks!

  • @Entity13Productions so true!

  • dont be jealous

  • Its cool, but what a waste of money, seriously.

    Who even needs this

  • no one, lol, and who needs an iphone? Sure its fun, but anyone can settle for a regular phone...

  • The iPhone and Android phones make pretty good MP3 players though so you can have 2 devices in 1.

  • After seeing tons of videos and content, it's still fucking amezing. Everytime I see it :O

  • i was thinking about the blue screen of death appeared on the microsoft surface...LOL

  • wow, microsoft doing something innovative. sweet!

  • kool, but i can guarantee it will never catch on lol

  • it'll be the only way you'll order your burger and milkshake sucka :P I guarantee it!

  • lol, i wouldnt be so sure. Ever wonder what they use on CNN. hummmm =)

  • COOL!

  • october

  • ocober how much is it tho

  • Is Apple working on anything like Surface?

  • a tablet. it will almost definitely be multitouch and have a new version of mac os x that has features like u see above

  • The only thing from Microsoft I will buy!!!!

  • Currently I think they are around $8,000 and only for big companies.

  • Awesome

  • Oh man! I really really really really really want one of them :O

  • that sounds amazing.

  • Surface o.o OMFG thats awsome!!

  • That looks awesome!

  • This is so awesome. I want to play with it.

  • thats so freakin sweet!

  • great video!

  • Sweet!!!!!

  • Do want!

  • That looks really cool!

  • I wonder if this will get a Blue screen of death... saying that they will probably call it the Blue Surface of Death... Don't Touch it!

  • that is fucking awesome!

  • future technology...here we go!!! lol

  • WOW, i dunno what this is but i want it

  • canihas

  • it's $12,500 for the home use version. it says on surface's site

  • Not home use yet, but if you want something for the home there will be Windows 7 touch devices coming out this fall.

  • I just checked and I honestly expected these things to cost more than 12.5K to own! i don't know if that sounds overly arrogant but yeah....

  • cool tech... wonder if it will ever make it into homes and be a success.. i like the direction i see microsoft goin in.. with office being all snazy now, windows 7 being better than vista, and new stuff like surface.. good job microsoft, keep copying apple, it seems to be doing u well.. ;P

  • Apple coppied microsoft to begin with. It's a cycle.

  • Dangerous DRM.

  • about 10 G's. :/

  • Is this product even out yet? I haven't seen it in ANY retail places (where Microsoft said it would show up first)

And for all the noobs that complain about the price..everything that comes out at first is expensive, especially something like this.

Its going to be some years before this thing hits prices the average Joe can afford.

I believe they said its costs somewhere between $10,000-$20,000 U.S dollars.

  • Yeah they did say It would be coming. I saw an example somewhere of one designed for an Aston Martin dealership. It let you take a multi touch "3D" fly through the car. Pretty cool gadget and you're right it is going to be a while until this kind of device makes its way into our front rooms.

  • It's out, but commercial pricing and not retail pricing. It's in commercial settings like at Harrah's in Atlantic City, the Rio in Las Vegas, Sheraton's, Barclays, etc.

  • wut

  • why isn't there a consumer product like this?

how hard is it to just take the technology behind the Touchsmart PC and the iMac, and place it flat, face up on a desk?

  • DUDE that is AWSOME!!! when can the public expect this? like not for the site, but for the app

  • WOW. Cooooool. I want one

  • The navy could really use this COOL

  • man, i SO want that table! But it's too expensive for me

  • If they put all that on a PC under $1500 I may think about getting one for myself. But for a big ass table that cost as much as an economy car I think I'll pass......

  • The funny thing is, I'm sure $1500 will get you a nice Tablet PC with Windows 7.

  • Yes, your right. You can get an HP TouchSmart IQ526 PC for $1200 with a free upgrade to Windows 7 on October 22th..... still much cheaper than this big ass touch screen coffee table LOL

  • Anyone know of a desktop that has the water effect like the surface has? Something like an interactive water desktop? So when you move the mouse it makes ripples on the screen.

  • Some Windows 7 touch PCs will have the Microsoft Surface lagoon on them, which has the water and fish in it that react to touch.

  • woo amazing i just want to touch it

  • AAAAAARRRRGH IM SOOO PISSED OFF RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!! you cant buy it for personal use and its fucking insanely expensive i dont care if this thing could recreate god its WAY TOO fucking expensive

  • This is just awesome!

  • im buying one

  • search google for nuigroup, the world is full of people making their own tables with open source software.

  • It's basically doing what an iPhone does, except it's 10.000 bucks

  • That's true.

  • fasle ! twat

  • That is so amazing!!!!!!!!!

  • that's soo cool! :D

  • i think this is going to CHANGE the technology land. I just dont think it will be successful. i could see a lot of bugs in that system happening.

  • awesomeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • i swear i can hear someone playing WoW in the background

  • its waw dumbass

  • there definitely is... :D

  • 1:30 - 1:35

you can see the "ANT" thats the same as my youtube icon. mine just has text in it

  • thats soo cool!

  • O_O That is epic...but I bet it comes with an even epicer price tag : /

  • Haahaahaha LOL

  • yep its 11,000 euro over here in ireland

  • They're only for commercial use at the moment isn't it? Can you actually get them in Ireland now?

  • yep but they are major expensive its not fair why does the revolutionary designs always stay away from the mainstream use for sooo long and then when it gets here have such a huge prive tag

  • because certain companies have lost touch with customers and there feelings. Like for example, the project from Microsoft were you wont need controllers. It sounds cool but how efficient will it be. It could cost way to much for it to be available to the consumer. And plus how accurate will it be for voice and controllers?

  • i know that technology has its flops but it paves the way for technology to improve on the design but i hate the fact we are simply numbers on a board to them.they think they know whats good for us and we are simple minded fools that just have money to them. come on why cant the consumer just win for once is that too much to ask for

  • exactly. If companies, not just microsoft, put out quality affordable products we will buy them. And sometimes cutting the price can earn you profit. Also the consumer has been winning for years. Its called consumers union/ consumer reports. People check with them for a variety of things to see if it is worth for the public to buy it.

  • new things cost more than old things.

  • no its that the price is faaaaar to expensive. i understand items are normally pricey until it reaches mainstream but this is mainstream but still is far too pricey. ssds are pricey but are soon to drop in price because of mass production but Microsoft surface is too expensive even when mainstreamed

  • Microsoft Surface isn't mainstream yet. It's still a commercial product and positioned for multi-user computing in public spaces. Remember when plasma TVs were more than $10,000 and it was mostly sports bars that had them? It took a while for the prices to come down from those early days to where more people were buying them. We hope the curve to mainstream will be quick for Microsoft Surface.

  • We are working on to get you a lower priced options. The Windows and Surface teams have been collaborating in Windows 7. The first wave will be available this fall with Windows 7 Touch. This will come with lower priced options than the Microsoft Surface hardware, with Windows 7 laptops and IR embedded screens.

Future versions of Microsoft Surface with its vision technology will go down in price as well. We're working hard to bring it to a consumer availability and price point.

  • Chris said he wanted one in his living room. I know I do. I'll likely be picking up a multi-touch laptop this fall for myself.

  • matt champagne? Isn't he named Chris Pirillo?

  • ...using another person as an example duh!

  • he was using that card as an example!

  • That Microsoft Surface is amazing, I hope it becomes reality in the mass market. It will redefine how people use their computers. I sooooooooo want one.

  • That looks sooooo cool.

  • That's me! That's me!!! I wanna go to Gnomedex so you can see me in person :)

  • at least but is it worth it

yes for reastraunts it will be awesome

    at home?

well if mac does one it would be but hey lets wait

mac lets micro soft funk up then they fix it

  • WOW! That's really cool. If I were rich, I would buy it when it came out. But, unfortunatly, I'm not. :(

  • That looks so freaking awesome,I want microsoft surface nao!!

  • Get ready to pay $10,000

  • I know for real, this shit is extreme

  • what are the specs on this thing. Im assuming a decent GPU to render all those effects

  • What is gnomedex??

  • chris pirillo's technology conference event.

  • we already have this in the UK but it is soooooooooo much money !!!!

  • I cant wait for the day we all can use things like this in everyday life.

  • its a big ass ipod touch

  • but then very much 100% better then that..

  • you watched the parody right ;)?

  • yea. wow i got a thumbs down for saying its a big ass ipod touch =(

  • DO WANT!!!

  • Do want!

Houw would a fps game do on that? :D

  • Great stuff. So touch interfaces are now mainstream - I wonder how many years it's gonna take to figure out how to manipulate the objects in 3D space minus the screen (Minority Report, essentially)?

  • Holographic technology actually exists but it is at the primative stage. Watch this /watch?v=7rRqolYm-vQ

  • Thanks. I should just say that I meant mainstream, at the level of cultural proliferation of, say, iPhone.

  • Yep, cool, but like you say a primitive stage. Are there any signs of people being able to marry that to actual object manipulation, some kind of touch interface?

It seems they figured out holograms a while ago, and in the other direction, things like Microsoft Surface, Wii, Project Natal have conquered motion control. It's that seamless bridging of the two that we're all hoping for to be brought to the masses.

  • Looks amazing! I'll need to get this.

  • does anyone know what video camera that was used for this?

  • iphone 3gs

  • I want it!!!!!!!!! :(

  • just wait till it gets attacked with a trojan :P Mac FTW ;)

  • Mac soon get some trojan. In the near future. ;)

  • thats awesomely insane

  • Surface discriminates against people with 1 or no limbs!

lol. That card looks pretty cool though.

  • What a mess! Can't they arrange them effectively?

  • Seeing more companies expriementing with new ways if interacting with UI moving so fast, those holograms in Iron Man might be closer to reality than we thought.

  • I should not be telling you this, but they already do exist.

  • Achievement? O_o

  • that is SO TIGHT

  • Freaking awesome. Wish I was going so I could play with it. RTS's would be a BLAST to play on that.

  • hope it's spill proof eh...

  • twitter is such a waste of time

  • Wow...

  • wow looks like stuff u seen in sifi movies in like the 90's lol

  • first to say first

  • holy shit thats awesome

  • As much as I despise Microsoft..this looks pretty cool and revolutionary

  • yes i know..... but windows will never make sothing perfect.... theres always sothing going rong
