I just saw her perform this song in a little theatre in Sutter Creek, CA with the Rosie Burgess Trio. You ever watch one of those live performances that reaches into your soul? I could only just sit there frozen, mesmerized, and let the music roll over me. I won't be forgetting that performance anytime soon!
Great band, great tune. I saw them twice back in 2002 and 03 I believe when they played summer folk in owen sound, ontario. In 02 they played a side stage/work shop and totally blew everyone away. The next year in 03 they were the headliners. I have two questions: Are they still together, and a buddy of mine said that they were lesbians (not that there is anything wrong with that, sorry about the Sinefeld reference, but it fits here), I just do not believe him. Cheers.
saw them in a small basement venue in brooklin ontario and again in toronto,,just an amazing group and incredible song.. cant wait till they come back to toronto
amazing song, one of my favourites, had the great pleasure of seeing them in a small private basement venue in brooklin ontario and again in toronto.. cant wait till they come back again..
I was also at the Basement that night and many other Sydney gigs, whenever they came to town ! Simply a great musical talent with a special chemistry between the 3 ladies that lasted for a decade !
I can't believe that they haven't re-formed yet !!
Jesus! Saw Fruit in 1999 for the first time and I got carried away - in duesseldorf, germany, then in Hannover for the Expo 2000, such a fantastic show around lunch time in the Aussie pavillion and a "f****ing amazing" show at night. Then, in 2002, my wife was in Sydney by the time of the concert and I virtually urged her to go to the BASEMENT :-) Got a CD with a personal note of Mel's. Awesome, really awesome performance, still love this music, thanks for sharing this footage.

I stumbled upon Fruit playing at a River Festival in Boise Idaho USA of all places. I was hooked right from the start of the horn on Mamma Mamma. Huge fan ever since. Sure miss Fruit. Your incredable Mel.
