I was there for their last show in Montréal last year and it was some awesome sauce. But I got to say that i'm a little disappointed that they only put that song for the japanese edition.
@evanisgay11 I still don't see how that makes them exclusive and special(atom bombs dont mean nothing), we've bombed the hell outta other countries, should we give Vietnam and Germany bonus tracks too?
@evanisgay11 I'm not sure if you're joking/being facetious, but they give them bonus tracks to encourage them to buy the music locally as opposed to online where it's cheaper.
@SnakeTheFox yes, i was joking. and im not sure i dont really buy alot of digital music. and ive certainly never bought a digital verision of any isis release (but i more than likely will whenever they release all of their live albums on a digital release) and secondly, if i could find a way to purchase a tangible copy of the japanese issue, i would glady shell out a few more bucks just to hear the brilliance of this band. sorry for the long response haha
@evanisgay11 The thing is, in Japan the price difference between a digital or import copy is so drastic that it's actually necessary to incite people to buy locally. In the US there's little difference between digital/retail copies however, that's why we don't get bonus tracks.
This is now available on the Isis/Melvins split 12 inch vinyl limited release. The only true way to listen to Isis music in general is vinyl. On mp3 youtube ect it's like an am/fm clock radio. I actually was not impressed with isis fromlistening through these means. But now i am hooked on the vinyl you hear 100x more sound, closest you can get to the live studio.
While yes, Vinyl does add a cool spin on the recordings, CDs are 100 % of what you were meant to hear. So I'm not sure what else you're hearing friend. :)
@eroticmisery A good pair of 'multi-hundreds of pounds' headphones eclipses any medium of listening to music... ask any specialist magazine, they'd agree. I have Goldring surround headphones and even this mp3 sounds brilliant through them. It's not the layering of sounds that's lost, it's the dynamics, and you get it all back with these bad boys :D
Less than a minute into this song and I already feel like the lack of inclusion of this song on the standard release was a big mistake. Hopefully I can get a copy of that Melvins split.
@eroticmisery it's just opinion, i actuall really like the album artwork, get a high res pic of this and look at at for a while ficusing on it, you go away feeling different about a lot of things, i wont tell you what it means to me until you find your own meaning(s) beacause life is (to me) finding who you are
@haggis325 I have the records. Just saying i am an "artist" and the covers don't do anything for me. I love the music but the album covers are so lack luster you will never see them on a top 20 album cover list.
Wow, I like this song. It's a bit experimental, but wonderful. A more of a ITAOT sound mixed with their newer sound, and also a new style with the actual singing parts.
I dont know... maybe because japanese people are smarter?... lol jokes...but probably. Asians seem to be more intellectually driven. Although kids still commit suicide. This is what you need isis for haha
I think that japanese get a bonus tracks because albums are more expencive in Japan so in order to get them to buy a record they need that "special attraction" or more bang for the buck. Im not absolutely sure though but this is what I heard.
Totally agree with Am, feels more like an ITAOT track, but still should have been on the album. Wavering Radiant is still album of the year by a landslide, unless Baroness has something really amazing come October, which is definitely possible.
One added note: Isis on the Wavering Radiant tour as opposed to the supporting gig for Tool on the 10,000 days tour: world of difference. ISIS headlining is absolutely mindblowing. Aaron Turner is now one of my top 5 live frontmen.
hell yeah this is an amazing album. though its my second favorite of the year... first one is mastodon crack the skye... isis is such a goddamn amazing band and im proud to say that they are in my top two. wish this song was on the american album.... and baroness blue album is going to be fantastic. they have a have a couple of the new songs on their myspace.
While it's definitely a great song, I can see why they didn't include it with Wavering Radiant. It just wouldn't fit with the others.

There is no such thing as an Isis B-side.

Why are the best songs always bonus tracks? You think they'd want to have a gem like this on the standard copy of the album.

Very interesting intro. Doesn't sound like something Isis would typically make.

@VladFerdinand1 American bands give them bonus tracks for remission of bombing them all those years ago.
