So it will be redeveloped faster than most inland areas. Massive amounts of inmate labor should be used to clean everything up into trucks, containers, and rail cars to be transported to mid-western landfills. I saw large amounts of valuable scrap metal in Newark. More scrap operations are needed to accelerate reclamation.

Newark is a tough city, always was and will be. That doesn't mean its bad. I was born there 50 something years ago, grew up a couple of miles away and my father is from Vailsburg. My relatives are from the North Ward so spent a lot of time there, lots of great memories, wouldn't trade it for anything.

I've been living in Newark for 14 years and this is the most ignorant video I've ever seen. Many people in this city have been trying to alter the perception of Newark and videos and stereotypes like these hinder our efforts. Newark is a beautiful city and I hope the stereotypes that ignorant people hold will be erased from their minds. I hope in the future, when I am successful, people will be proud that a resident from Newark accomplished so much.

@kevinster123 Oh really? Over 200 people have been shot this year. There has been a big crime spike. Murders are up 71%. Car jacking are up 60% that's equivalent to what it was in the 90's. The Ironbound section is having more and more shooting every year. Police are getting laid off. That's not bad?

West Ward and South Ward have taken a turn for the worse. Ironbound may look better but More Homicides are occurring. I highly doubt you know what you are talking about. Google "Newark Crime Spike"

Anywhere like the Ironbound and near the Prudential is well kept. I hate Newarkphobes, especially Rangers Fans. Devils fans pay good money to keep that cash cleaning up Newark so it can be nicer place to visit. College hoops, a better NJ Nets team could bring in more fans and revenue besides the concerts. MSG in NYC sucks balls, too old outside, and the inside even if it's nice it doesn't beat the state of the art Prudential Center.
